Dragon Monarch System

On the Main Continent,

Currently, the Night Riders Sect is having an emergency meeting. For this meeting all the powerful and influential elders including the Sect Leader were present. All of them had gathered here today to listen to the report that their Sect's disciplines had gathered about the Dragon Monarch. And discuss this whole issue.

"Now that everyone is here.....!! Let's start this meeting." Sitting on the Throne, Sophia Isabelle Martinez who was the Sect Leader signalled the discipline whom they had sent to gather information about the Dragon Monarch to speak.

Quintessa was standing in front of the Sect Leader who was very well known for her cold and calculating personality. Quintessa had never been this scared before. Even when surrounded by 1000 magical creatures, she didn't feel as nervous as she did now.

Standing in front of all the elders and the Sect Leader, Quintessa felt very pressured. It wasn't that any of the Elders nor the Sect Leader was using their powers to pressure or using their killing intent to make her feel frightened. It was just that she had never been in such a situation. All the prominent and well-known elders of the Sect including the legendary cold and bloodthirsty Sect Leader, all were staring at her. The mental pressure was just too much.

Quintessa was a core discipline of the Sect. She is an orphan. She had joined this sect at the age of 15. And now that she was close to 30, she had managed to enter the ranks of Core Discipline with her talent and her hard work.

Quintessa had heard about the matter regarding Mia. At first, she wasn't bothered by this matter. She continued to her daily life which consisted of cultivating for 8 to 9 hours before practicing her skills for another 4 to 5 hours. Quintessa was very content with her life.

Since it was mandatory for all disciplines regardless of their rank to accept and complete a certain number of Missions every single month, that day Quintessa also had gone to take a Mission. If she did not complete her mission, she would lose her points. The resources allocated to her and the benefits that she received were going to decrease.

If a Discipline did not complete any missions for 6 months, then that discipline will be demoted. In her case, she already had taken permission and had spent around 4 months in seclusion. After months of cultivating behind closed doors, she had finally managed to reach 6th order. The sect allowed disciplines who wanted to enter seclusion to improve their strength and cultivator to get special leave from having to do any missions for up to 5 months.

Coming out of seclusion, Quintessa wanted to complete a few missions when she happened to meet someone who looked very angry and pissed. It was the Mia's teacher. She was the most powerful Elder in the whole sect. Her name was Lily Elizabeth.

Lily Elizabeth saw her and dumped the mission of gathering information about the Dragon Monarch and the Empire's strength on her. Quintessa had no choice but to agree. Since who could disagree with the orders of the most powerful Elder of the Sect?

And now she was here.

Under the gaze of all the elders and the Sect Leader himself.

'How did even I get myself in such a situation?' Quintessa wanted to cry but there were tears in her eyes.

When Quintessa was on her way to visit the Istarin Empire, she did not have much hope. She thought the Empire was going to be weak compared to their standards. But she was proven wrong.

Quintessa hurriedly wiped the sweat from her forehead before she took a deep breath.

"I was lucky enough to see the Emperor fight a Peak 5th-order Hydra." As Quintessa began speaking, there was a trace of respect and admiration for the Dragon Monarch.

When she heard that the Emperor called himself the Dragon Monarch, she thought that the Emperor was just being arrogant. But after his fight with the Hydra, she was completely convinced.

"A hydra...?" Hearing the elders were surprised. Even in the Main Continent, it was extremely rare to spot a Hydra. And they knew very well that the appearance of a Hydra was a very bad sign. It was a sign of a dark and chaotic future. Whenever a Hydra has appeared in this world, something really bad has happened to the world.

"How many heads did the Hydra have?" Asked Elder Lily Elizabeth.

"The Hydra had 9 heads." Quintessa honestly replied.

But...

As soon as she said these words, all the Elders had a very strong reaction. They had a look of shock and disbelief.

"Impossible.....!!"

"Quintessa, do you think we are fools?"

"Did you think we would believe whatever you say?"

Some of the Elders were really angry at Quintessa for saying such a lie. Even the Sect Leader has never seen a 9-headed Hydra.

Sophia, the Sect Leader also looked shocked but compared to the Elders she was able to accept Quintessa's words very quickly. She saw no reason for Quintessa to lie here. Sophia knew Quintessa very well. She knew that Quintessa wasn't the type to joke or lie about such things.

But seeing all the Elders in doubt, she decided to question Quintessa herself.

"Quintessa...!!" As soon as the Sect Leader called her name in a very cold tone, Quintessa's entire body became stiff. Sweats began rolling from her cheeks and forehead.

Looking at those cold eyes, Quintessa felt scared. Her whole body was shaking.

"Is it true?" She asked in a very cold tone while things were short.

"Ye....yes.....!!"

"But how could that be true? We have never seen a 9 headed Hydra. No one here has even seen a 7-headed Hydra much less seen a 9-headed Hydra. Even the first generation of the Sect Leader only had managed to see an 8-headed Hydra." Elder Lily expressed her disbelief and shock through her high-

pitched words.

"Elder Lily, just because none of us have seen a 9 Headed-

Hydra does not mean they do not exist. So please calm down." Sophia's tone was very cold.

In order words, Sophia was indirectly telling Lily to shut her mouth otherwise, she won't be able to bear the consequences.

Lily instantly shut her mouth even though she looked very dissatisfied. She even glared at Quintessa for a second. Her glare made Quintessa tremble for a second.

Seeing what Lily did Sophia sighed inwardly. But on the surface, her expression completely remained unchanged. "Quintessa, you may continue....!!"

"The Hydra was over 2000 meters long. But somehow, the Emperor was able to defend his people and defeat the Hydra."

"Now that's ridiculous. Do you even hear what you are saying?" Lily Elizabeth was super angry. She refused to believe in such nonsense.

While the remaining Elders had a mixed reaction. Some believed Quintessa as they personally knew her character and these elders believed that she would never lie, while most elders didn't believe her.

The Sect Leader believed Quintessa even though her story sounded so unbelievable.

"Quintessa, tell us all the details about this battle." The Sect Leader's eyes dangerously glowed in a cold glint while staring at Quintessa.

"Do not leave out any details."

"Yes...!!" Quintessa replied while trembling.

Quintessa started with how all this began and how everything ended. By the time that she was done, everyone including the Sect Leader was left in deep shock.

Once Quintessa was done, it had become 100% clear just how powerful the Dragon Monarch was and what were their chances of winning if they went to fight against him.

"You have completed your mission. Now you can head back." Sophia waved her hand.

Quintessa bowed to the Sect Leaders and then to the elders quickly before she left the hall. She didn't dare stay in that place any longer. The pressure that she felt while being in that hall was too much for her.

Once she left, the whole hall fell into silence. All the Elders looked confused. If what Quintessa has said was true, then even if they brought their whole Sect to fight the Istarin Emipre, they were still going to lose.

'Based on what Quintessa has said, even I don't think I would be able to fight that 9 Headed-Hydra while my cultivation is limited to Peak 5th-order. Fighting him outside of the Main Continent is going to be impossible. Doing this would only bring shame, humiliation, and insults to this sect.'

'But we can't also drop this matter easily. As this matter is concerned with the pride and image of this sect.' Right now Sophia was in a very difficult situation.

"Sect Leader, what should we do?" One of the Elders fearfully asked in a low tone. Her voice was soft and low which was a sign of respect and also fear. Even the Elders feared the Sect Leader as much as the Disciplines of the sect feared her.

"What else? We are going to announce that this whole matter was nothing but a misunderstanding and that our sect's discipline has lied to us. So we will drop this matter." This was the only way that their sect could save face.

"But doing that would mean.....?" Lily Elizabeth could not keep quiet hearing this. The sect was essentially throwing her student to save their image and reputation. Lily Elizabeth felt very angry and also dissatisfied by this.

"What else, do you want me to do?" The Sect Leader coldly asked.

Lily Elizabeth lost all of her courage when the Sect Leader coldly looked at her.

"Announce that since discipline Mia has lied, she will going to be punished heavily by the sect. From today onwards, Mia is forbidden to go outside. Elder Lily Elizabeth, I expect you to control your discipline and your angry. Do you do anything rush that would ruin our Sect?" Sophia said this knowing that this woman might try to do something crazy knowing her personality.

Lily Elizabeth had no choice but to obey what the Sect Leader was saying.

"This whole matter will remain buried in this room. I don't want anyone speaking about this matter outside of anybody." Sophia said in a strict tone.

"Understood...!!" All the Elders except for Elder Lily Elizabeth said.

"This meeting is over....!!" Saying that the Sect Leader disappeared. While all the Elders disappeared, only Elder Lily Elizabeth remained in at the hall. She was bitting her lips and was trying her best to control her anger.

'Fine...!! I will take matters into my own hand.'
