Dragonball X: The Ultimate System

Chapter 38 - Qualified Participant!

King Kai sounded excited, it seemed he wasn't angry anymore from their last conversation. Kayn couldn't leave now if someone was sent by King Kai. He still had to wait for his parents to arrive first before leaving.

"I'm here, King Kai. Just to tell you, I'm not leaving now until next month. I still have time, so you don't have to worry." Kayn spoke flatly, he didn't want to disappoint King Kai when he asked him.

"Ah, Okay. I was just tunning in to make sure you didn't forget. I'll send someone once your parents arrive. They're on their way back now and should arrive at the beginning of next month." King Kai only talked to make sure hadn't forgotten.

"Thanks, but I won't forget something so important."

"Good to know, I talk to you when they arrive." King Kai stopped talking, he wanted to drive around in his car.

Kayn looked at his status sheet again, staring at his new Skill. Sadly, he couldn't create power multiplying Techniques, these were too rare and hard to create.

While he was looking at his Status sheet, he found that he was already 21.

"System, set Invasion Schedule and the Date Raditz will arrive on earth." Kayn knew he would be in OtherWorld for at least a year if things went the way he wanted them to.

[Setting Raditz's arrival date.]

[Raditz's Arrival: 4 Years| 4 Months| 14 days!]

"Good, keep this posted, so whenever I looked at the system, I'll see it." Kayn stretched, as the system pinned the time table into the corner of the interface.

Kayn could see the amount of time in greater detail now. He saw the number of hours, minutes, days, months, years, and even seconds.

"Perfect! How precise." Kayn only knew that Raditz arrived on earth when Goku was 25 years old, but he didn't know the exact time.

Afterward, Kayn went back into his house to relax and watch movies again. He really wished he had something that could break the void, so he could travel to universe 6. Kayn vowed that he would travel to different realities, specifically the GT Dimension if he could.

Kayn now stood at 6'6 in height, seamlessly towering over Bardock and Gine. The only known Saiyan taller than him that was alive now was Nappa. Kayn didn't do much in his time, but he was using his time to prepare for the future.

Time passed, as Kayn spent most of his time drawing and trying to picture exotic dragons. This was obviously because he wanted to make his dragon balls in the future. He had to get his hands on the Super Dragonballs before Beerus woke up.

"I will have to mainly get this done for universe 6. I'll also need to use the Saiyans there to become a Divine Saiyan." No matter how many times Kayn drew a dragon, it looked like he was drawing a goofy dragon.

"I can't draw worth my life, maybe the system can help me later, or I'll find an artist to draw me one." Kayn looked at his many drawing speechlessly, they were so terrible and funny to look at.

They looked like they were drawn by a pre-schooler!

Kayn didn't bother trying anymore and just watched movies instead. The only training he did was on his Ki-Senses. After all of these events, the next month was upon him. Sure enough; a ship appeared in the sky, approaching the surface of the planet swiftly.

It was Bardock and Gine.

The ship let off a steam cloud when it landed. The door opened and both Gine and Bardock walked down from the ship. Bardock's expression looked indifferent, but Gine was smiling from ear to ear.

"Good! You 2 came back safely, it must have gone well."Kayn greeted them the minute they exited the ship.

"Yes, it went perfectly well, we defeated the enemies and handed the planet over to the slaves." Gine approached Kayn and noticed that he had grown again.

"It was just as I said, they underestimated us at the beginning, which made things much easier." Bardock felt accomplished being able to understand his enemy's behavior before they could enact it.

"Come, let's talk about it more inside, I also have somethings to show and tell you both." Kayn signaled them to walk over to the house, it was better to talk around a table than standing up outside.

Moments later, everyone was sitting around the table.

Gine began to relay more details about the story. She stated that once she gave the planet to the slaves, she told them to train themselves to stave off pirates. Notably, Gine told them to use gravity to train themselves.

The place had a gladiator arena, which brought a great amount of attraction and entertainment. Bardock spoke about how he defeated the King of the planet.

Kayn understood this much, he knew Bardock, as he was now, he was more than enough to beat the King. He was also aware that Bardock loved his sons, but he seemed to favor Goku more than Raditz and Kayn.

Bardock always found time to all about Kakarot and sometimes Raditz. Kayn knew the reason for his favoritism, and that was because Goku looked just like him, it wasn't hard to figure this obvious explanation out.

As for Gine, she loved her sons, all the same, showing no favoritism.

"We also took a few of the strange armor and scanners they were wearing." Gine suddenly said.

Kayn was silent for a moment, as he thought about the uses of such armor. 'I think I can use the scanning device for something later, maybe Bulma can expand the use of it.' Kayn thought.

"Okay, I'll check those out later, but I have something tell you 2." Kayn looked between Gine and Bardock. Gine and Bardock listen closely, if Kayn had something to say, it must be important.

"I'm heading to OtherWorld, either today or tomorrow for a tournament. I'm telling you because I might be gone for a year." Kayn explained thoroughly.

"A tournament?" These words quickly caught Bardock's interest.

"That's right, there will be some powerful competitors for me to fight and hone my skills."

"I'm in, where do we sign up?" Bardock said. "I remember when I was a kid, we had these type of tournaments often." Bardock stood up, he wanted to fight against strong opponents too, in order to gain experience as well.

"Uh, sorry, but I'm going there to represent North Kai. There will be other fighters participating for glory. However, these are all dead people who fought heroically before they died and they were all good people before that."

"Dead? You aren't dead, so how can you get involved?" Bardock asked.

"Because this a special event, whe...wait, you might be able to get involved." Kayn wasn't sure, so he didn't assume anymore.

"Haha, good, I hope these OtherWorlders are as strong as you say." Bardock rubbed his hand together with anticipation.

"What about you, mom? Will you attempt to enter the tourney in OtherWorld?" Kayn looked to Gine and asked.

"No, but if I can watch, that'll be fine." Gine declined, she would rather watch. She had already done plenty of fighting, thus, she would rather train instead.

Just when Kayn was about to show them something; the void outside of the house shook, as if someone was trying to breakthrough. Kayn stopped and felt someone suddenly appear out of nowhere; this also alarmed Bardock and Gine.

Bardock was the first to move and ran to the door to check.

"Anybody home, I'm here to pick up contestant Kayn." A professional voice could be heard outside, it had no hint of hostility.

"Ah, it must be that time, it looks like our guide has arrived." Kayn walked outside to see the blue nerdy Ogre from last time.

"It's you, your that nerd from before." Gine pointed out and said.

"N-nerd? I'm not a nerd!" The nerdy Ogre rebuked.

"Hmm, but you are, you can't hide what you are." Gine smiled and said teasingly.

"..."

He couldn't bother to argue with this woman, she was obviously messing with him.

"Ahem, as I was saying, I'm here to pick up Kayn, so which one of you is this Kayn?" The Ogre starting talking professionally again.

"That would be me, but I was thinking, this guy here also wants to contest. Is this possible?" Kayn had to be sure.

"Hmm, I don't know, let me contact North Kai to confirm." The Ogre turned around and looked up with his eyes closed.

"..."

"....."

"...."

Everything was silent.

"Hmm, the North Kai said it's fine." The ogre nodded and confirmed.

"Haha! I like this North Kai guy already!" Bardock laughed happily.

"Follow me!" The Ogre turned and walked to the door nearby, he couldn't wait to get out of here in all honesty. Kayn was satisfied with this because it didn't mean he had to worry while being away.

The group of 4 walked through the door as it closed behind them. Afterward, they appeared in King Yemma's check-out station. However, they didn't head to the check-in and out area where people were being sentenced.

"The Tournament takes place on the Grand Kai's planets." The Nerdy Ogre was expecting these mortals to be shocked, but none of them showed any change in expression. Thus, his mouth twitched, he failed to see them amazed.

He only thought that these mortals didn't know the greatness of such a Kai. At first, he thought they knew a thing or 2 since North Kai was inviting this Kayn character, but nope.

But he was both right and wrong.

"Is he like... a higher rank than King Kai or this North Kai guy?" Bardock asked.

"King Kai and the North Kai are the same person." Kayn quickly corrected.

"Oh." Both Gine and Bardock said in unison. Gine already knew King Kai, but she didn't know he was also called North Kai.

"So, there must be like a South, East, and West Kai, right?" Gine only thought this made sense, so she asked.

"I'm glad you mortals understand that much, you're smarter than I thought." The nerdy Ogre adjusted his glasses with a smug smile.

"Oh, sorry we can be as smart as a nerd." Gine grinned and said playfully. It was telling what she would think when she met Goku and realize years later that her Grandson would become a nerd.

"I'm not a nerd, you...." The ogre glasses went crooked from annoyance. But before he could freak out further, they all made it to their destination.

"Here, take this portal, it'll warp you straight to his planet. North Kai will be waiting for you there to guide you." The glasses Ogre said hurriedly.

"Why didn't King Kai contact me like usually does?" Kayn unconsciously asked.

"He's probably talking with the other Kai's, they're very competitive fellas."

"I see, well, we'll be on our way then." Kayn nodded and walked through the portal first. Bardock walked through afterward, following behind Kayn.

"See you around, my glasses friend." Gine said these last words before jumping into the portal

"I told you, I'm not..... damn annoying mortals!" The glasses Ogre jumped up and down in anger, but Gine was already gone.
