Dream Life

Episode X: Toilet Dissemination

Since the toilet for the squire's house was completed on June 3, a plan was drawn up for its dissemination to the village.

First of all about the material, but as far as the inventory of Craig the woodworker's workshop is concerned, I don't think we should have about ten buildings.

What percentage of it will be built next?

I used to work on a machine factory replacement. From what I heard then, the big potty should have been good for one in thirty. This is a factory story, so think about how much you need to be in a general household.

(If it's true, I guess a family needs about one, but it'll be a joint toilet, so it should be a little less. For example, about one in ten should be enough...)

Being unable to spread to the village at once, it was decided to decide on a model district and concentrate all ten buildings there.

As for the model district, it was intended to propose to make it a district with Gordon's house in the middle of the four hills, the centre of the village, the face role.

(It's easy to spread if you draw in the face role, and it's easy to stop in the villagers' eyes because it's a rally point. There's a tavern, and it's just right to interest the villagers. If you put it somewhere else, it's possible that Gordon bends the navel. If I make him first, I'll stand his face too. It should be best to start here in order to draw Gordon in)

I went to my father's suggestion to that effect.

My father accepted that, too.

My father summoned Gordon to explain his philosophy, as well as ordering Nicholas to investigate the site and build the toilet.

The next day, Gordon came to the Mansion in response to my father's call.

It's unfortunate, of course, but being a child, I couldn't take part in that discussion.

My father told me that Gordon didn't understand the purpose of installing the bathroom and was a little confused. But the lord himself built it, and he said he had returned because he wanted it to be used. He also promised to cooperate fully in informing the residents about hygiene management.

I decided to leave this matter to Nicholas and consider other cases.

(The bathroom looks like it's going well. And then we'll start developing hand pumps and soaps for wells, and if we can afford it, we'll build up drains, and the village's environment will do somewhat well. After that, we'll make specialties. Instead, let my hobbies, no, make my dreams come true. hehe......)

That's what I was honestly thinking then. I thought it was already a success.

There were no particular problems at the beginning of June when we started building toilets, and there were only reports from Nicholas that construction was well under way.

On the contrary, the villagers also found time to help, more than ten days earlier than the construction period of the month initially scheduled, and the ten toilets were completed.

I won't deny that my alarm was on me when it was working.

I used to say a lot about good demons, and the construction went well, but it didn't go well with the subsequent "use”.

I'm responsible for failing to follow up, but at the beginning of July, a month or so later, I assumed it was a complete success until I got a report from Nicholas.

"It's been about ten days but I don't see much of it being used"

I'm sorry Nicholas told me that.

I couldn't believe why I wouldn't use it, and I said, "Why?," he asked.

"I checked with Gordon, but I really don't get the guidelines. I'm telling you to use it, but that's all I'm telling you."

(Why? Are you saying I should be around that stinky, dirty house?

I'm desperate to get my mind around it.

(Why don't you use it? You'd use it normally, right?... Normal? My “normal” isn't what the villagers feel?

"Let me hear Nicholas' opinion. Whatever."

Nicholas seems a little sorry,

"Perhaps it's a“ hassle ”. We thought it would be a hassle at first... but your orders are..."

And you noticed my gaze, I rush to add.

"Yes, no, I'm comfortable now. It doesn't smell, and it's okay if it rains... this is true"

I hear the words and realize I forgot the basics.

(I didn't ask the client (customer) at all... not everyone who uses it this time is the client. I was just doing my job with my own thoughts... I was telling my juniors that designers who don't listen to customers suck when I...)

I realized I was making a big mistake.

My senses are those of the Japanese of Heisei, not of this world.

When I change my previous system, no matter how beneficial it is, I can't get it to change from yummy. Humans get really conservative. So I had to figure out how to get them to use it, but they proceeded with my assumptions.

(Well, what do we do? You need to wash out the improvements. Do you want to take a survey?)

I order Nicholas to interview the villagers.

"I want everyone to ask why the villagers don't use it. Any opinion, and I won't punish you for saying it..."

So I reckon I can't do this.

"No, reward whoever gives you an opinion, just a small amount. I'll ask your father for this."

Go to my father with Nicholas and report that the toilet spread is not saying well. He then cuts out that he wants to hear the user's opinions in order to think about the proposed improvements.

"I'd like to hear your opinion without abomination. To this end, I would like to reward those who gave their opinion with ten e (ère) (= one hundred yen) for any opinion. Permission and cash payment, please."

"You don't have to give me a reward or anything, if Nicholas asks, he'll answer."

My father doesn't seem to understand why he wastes his expenses.

"Perhaps then, we will only have an opinion that is not obvious. For example, I forgot to mention it or something, only such an opinion...... if you give us a reward you will try to give us an opinion that sounds good to us, but if you tell us that you will also give money to bad opinions you will consider giving us as many opinions as possible. That's where we have the clue to improvement."

When I waved my little fist to theorize, did my father lose that force, too, and he admitted to a budget execution of 50C (krona) = 50,000 yen.

"If it's going to cost too much money in the future, I'm going to rethink this, okay? Nicholas, I'm sorry, but I need you to take care of him a little more."

My father suddenly becomes the face of the lord, and after he stabs me with a nail, he gives Nicholas behind him a bag with gold.

After I leave my father's office, I'll explain to Nicholas the precautions to take when questioning him.

"I want you and Kate - Nicholas' wife - to split up and listen to me. Nicholas told the man, Kate told the woman. The precaution when listening is to listen properly to any opinions, opinions that are of no use. Always give money if you have an opinion. And I want you to report your opinion as you can. I'm sure you'll be fine, but I ask you not to shake the Lord's orders."

He didn't seem convinced enough, but he made his way to the village to make sure he kept what I ordered.

(Well, I hope this picks up a decent “voice"...)

Two evenings later, Nicholas and Kate held a bunch of paper together and came to me.

"I got a lot of opinions. The results of the interview are written here. For once, it summarises every similar opinion."

I look at what's written on the paper in pieces.

The main points were threefold.

The first was not available because it is often unavailable during the morning hours.

The second is the hassle of going to carry the accumulated items, so I tried not to accumulate them as much as possible.

The third is the hassle of going to the bathroom in the first place.

These three accounted for more than half of the total.

Others, as women's opinions, were deliberately opened (nearly opened) or that they would not make it when they took their children.

The first is a matter of numbers.

Ten buildings in twenty, so it will be one in twelve or three. I guess this was too little. I just have to try a little more and find the best value.

It seems possible to respond to women's opinions and “opened” by placing a simple key, and to increase the number of children and use something like that.

The problem is the second and third. It's a hassle.

On this, if we do not think of any measures, they will not be disseminated.

How can it be most effectively disseminated?

I guess it will be resolved because if composting succeeds, the incentive will work that precious fertilizers will be discarded, but I do not know if composting will succeed at this stage, and the effect of composting will have to wait until the harvest time after it has been scattered in the field.

(Do we force it here? Or give another incentive? Build a group in a few houses and give the prize where the compost creation worked best...... no. Then there's too much cost ahead)

I flashed little by little as I proceeded with my thinking.

(I still have to strengthen my instruction at first. Let Gordon play the role of mentor. Then give Gordon some position, some honorary position, because Gordon will be dissatisfied. For example, with a district president or an autonomous president? Until now, even when it comes to face roles, it's not like there was a lord's tattoo. With the Lord's tattoo, you will seriously listen to this request because it will stir up his vanity)

I will go further with my thoughts.

(As a matter of fact, you can divide the village into districts and make it an administrative unit. It solidifies in a few to ten houses in a place suitable for residence, so if you make about twenty into one unit, it becomes four districts. With a district manager for each one, it should be easier to manage. Let's talk to your father)

When I go to talk to my father, he makes a difficult face.

"Do we need to distinguish in this little village? Can't you classify it poorly enough to be like a faction?

I felt like I was being poked blind spot.

"I do have that concern, but originally, isn't it just the neighborhood dating? I don't think that would be so much of a problem."

My father has made it a reservation to give him the position of District Manager, and has ordered him to think of something else.

"I'm not the district manager...... don't you have any other good names?

"What about a civilian role? What's the role of watching the people's lives?

"You're a civilian... what do you do with the reward?

"How about an honorary position? Once or twice a year, what about gathering civilian roles in the mansion for a feast?

"I see. Then I won't hang the money, and I don't want to do anything I can't afford. On the contrary, will those who want honor want to do it... good. Let's talk to Gordon about it. But make sure you decide what to do as a civilian."

I am thinking of a simplified version of the Minsheng Committee, which is located in Japan.

I am not familiar with the Commissioner for Civil Affairs, so I have to be a simplified version, but if it is a job to understand the living conditions of the residents and help them improve them, then naturally improving the toilet will be part of the job.

I made a brief note and decided to give it to my father.

It will take a few more months for the toilet to spread its purpose.

Still, I guess I'll have to take a look at the situation a little bit, but I also think that if I follow up properly, I'll be able to figure it out.

I put words of effort on Nicholas and Kate, and I was beginning to think about my next case.

Yes, I forgot good, but the special training from my grandfather continued during the improvement of the toilet.

Every day, I gesture about twenty minutes before breakfast and join my brothers in training in the morning. And even in the evening, he pretended to be bare for about twenty minutes before continuing his life of dinner.

More than half a month after I started training, I can only let one type of bareback.

Dan, who started with me, was also seriously starting to bareback me when he thought he regretted being left with Mel.

And June 20th, the twenty-fifth day I started training.

I became a swordsman.
