Dream Life

Episode Three: Understanding the Status quo

I left my parents' bedroom in this world, stunned by the fact that I was reincarnated.

Walking down a hallway with high ceilings and wide widths, he arrived in a large dining room.

I wasn't used to my body yet and was confused about the gap with my previous adult body.

(It looks wide, but that would be due to the size of my body. narrower eye spacing, so maybe that's what you think)

There was a large table for ten people in the dining room, with a nice smell of whether breakfast was being prepared or not.

In the cooking area behind the dining room, a good woman, about forty years old, cooked a meal.

"Morning, Molly."

My mother is greeting the woman.

Watching how it goes, I search desperately for the memories that are in me.

(Molly... you're definitely like a helper. It should be Walt's wife......)

After my father speaks up, I'll say hello too.

"Morning, Molly."

"Good morning, everyone. × × ○ △ ○, just a moment please"

(You feel like an old lady who likes to take care of you. But there are words out there that I still can't hear...)

As I was thinking about that, she laughed and headed to the cooking table again.

There were wooden plates and wooden spoons on the table, as well as round bread.

The bread is country-style bread like Campagne, whether it is baked or smells fragrant and good.

A few minutes later, a boy about his junior year of elementary school shows up, greets him, and sits in a chair beside his mother.

(You're my brother Rodrick. I think he calls me "stay.”)

I make it sound like a toddler as much as I can. "Good morning. Dear Sir," he makes a smile.

My brother sees my face with a slightly surprised look, but he immediately returns a greeting.

(Were you awkward about something? I have a vague memory of my normal behavior, so I need to make sure I don't wear it out...)

After a while, Molly holds a large pot and dines on each wooden dish for something that looks like soup.

The soup had little utensils, with slight shards of meat and leafy vegetables like cabbage floating around.

At the end of the meal, my father, my mother, and my brother took the bread and started eating.

(That's a poor table. Even though it's a knight's house, I guess it's like the usual meal because exploring memories doesn't really replace it...)

I asked my mother to help me and dip a thousand slices of bread in the soup.

The bread is too firm for my toddler's mouth, and my mother dips it to crush it with a spoon, making it finally edible hardness.

(Tastes pretty intense, but not bad. Is it just salt? Don't you use spice-like products?)

I flatten two loaves of bread like an adult's fist and get full.

While the other three are eating, we'll figure out what to do today.

(Well, we need to gather information from now on. Yesterday I was playing in the garden with a girl called “Mel" because the weather was nice. Explore the mansion today, or go around about my mother or my father... you're still short on information. Let's see how things go a little more before we decide)

At the end of the meal, my mother takes me and leaves.

Looks like we're headed to the well behind the mansion.

Is the mansion at the top of the hill or was it loosely down around? And the slopes were meadowed, and farther afield, patchwork-like fields spread across the successive hills.

(On the hill or... the patchwork is distorted, but don't remind me of Mei Eung in Hokkaido. But thanks to enhanced vision, it looks clear far away......)

My mother blames me for watching the scenery with a frightened look.

"Do you see anything interesting? But wash your face first."

Behind the mansion, when I reached the well on the north side, I saw a disappointing mid forties physique man drawing water.

"Good morning. Ma'am, Dear Zach."

"Morning, Walt."

(Walt. You must have been the one who was helping me with the house)

"Morning, Walt."

Walt said again, "Good morning. Dear Zach," he responds to me, but immediately resumes silent water pumping.

Is the well pretty deep, throwing in a fishing bottle, and then even the big guy takes quite a while to pull it up.

(It's on the hill, and maybe I can't help it, but that's a pretty heavy labor)

When I looked at my mother, I was putting white powder on my fingers and starting to brush my teeth.

I also imitate it and put my finger on the white powder trying to brush my teeth.

(Salt? That feels like crushed rock salt, too. Don't you have a toothbrush...)

Brush your teeth with powdered fingers.

It has a chalky, powdery taste to the taste of soggy salt, and it has no refreshment at all.

(Is it with salt and lime? I hope it wasn't bad for you...... and yet, you had all your teeth growing. You don't have tooth decay, and you mean health first...)

Squeeze the water with a wooden vessel, rinse your mouth.

Imitate my mother and wash her face with the water in the barrel. The water was very cold and drowsiness pulled off at once.

(It feels like the level of civilization was medieval or before. If the information about when you created the character is correct, there's got to be magic, but so far, there's no trace of it anywhere. Not so common or specialized in attack magic? We also need to gather information around here thoroughly...)

When I went back to the mansion, I had a convenience as to whether it was healthy evidence.

I'm headed to the bathroom I remember. My mother screams something in a hurry, but I go through the mansion almost as fast as I run, not the other way around.

(The child's body seems impatient. Awkward, it's gonna leak already...)

When you arrive in the bathroom, it won't be long before you feel relieved and you need to get back to work immediately.

Unlike the original world, the toilet has no potty or anything, just a hole in the floor. Further underneath it is just the ground and the smell is amazing.

(I've never had a bathroom this dirty. I don't have toilet paper, and I wipe it with the cloth I keep, but hygiene sucks)

I think about washing my hands, but I don't have a toilet and I can't wash my hands.

(Now, don't let the child get sick. I can't live a comfortable life without improving this......)

As I headed outside again, I vowed to my heart the first improvement that came to mind in the other world, the "improvement of the toilet”.

Washing my hands, I came back inside the mansion and my mother approached me with some worrying face.

"Did I get dirty? Get dressed?"

Apparently, I thought it was a toilet failure to go wash my hands.

"Fine. I just went to wash my hands"

My mother checked my clothes and stared at me with a strange face when she knew there was no problem.

(Was it awkward? But you have to wash your hands to calm down. Let's be careful next time......)

The morning bummer was over, and when I calmed down a little and looked around, there was no father and brother, but my mother, Molly and I were three.

(Well, looks like you were playing with a kid named Mel and four of Dan and Sharon's brothers and sisters yesterday. As far as I can remember, it feels like you're spending time playing with these three or chasing after your brothers. Well, what do we do today......)

I first decided to make sure the boy's memory matched reality.

(Kids' memories are good. There must be a lot of misunderstandings, so let's check this out... it looks like the weather is still nice today, so let's check outside the mansion, around “The Garden” and “Mel's House" and “Dan and Sharon's House”)

I tell my mother I'm going to Mel's house, and she runs out without shaking her side so she looks the same as usual.

Knock through the mansion gate - a crude ornamental gate made of wood - and walk out of the mansion. Mel's house will go down the road that leads from the mansion because it is in the middle of the hill.

Looking back towards the mansion, the mansion was a wooden two-story building with black columns and white lacquered walls and slated roofs, bigger than I thought. There was a chimney sticking out on the roof, and there was a thin smoke rising from it whether it was for cooking or not.

I make sure no one sees me and stop running. And I was thinking about my body as I walked.

(But that's hard to run. Is it because you have a heavy head, or because you still don't control your body well? If you're going to live in this world, your body will be the capital. Especially my house is a knight's house. Because combat ability is supposed to be the world to say things... If you build your body properly from the age of three, you should be able to gain advantages against your generation by the time you grow up...)

I thought it was a side meadow outside the mansion, but by the way, there was a field.

In the refreshing breeze of the morning, we go further in our thoughts as we descend down a path that has only been consolidated.

(If it's as set, I guess this is the border. But in what climatic land, what happens in summer and winter? At what latitude or altitude... No, in the first place, I don't know what days of the month this is. Oh! It's months of the year and I don't know how many days! Pity you don't have basic information......)

I was depressed that I had too little information.

From a world where the internet is the norm and you can get the information you want anytime, anywhere on your phone, you get emotions that resemble frustration in situations where you don't even know the means to get information.

(But if you're going to reincarnate it, you should be able to have a little explanation!... I didn't think the lack of information was so frustrating...)

Mel's house is a small house in a bungalow about fifty meters down from the mansion, surrounded by forests like windproof forests.

(Mel's father was Hector, and you always had a bow. Someone whose mother often comes to help with the mansion in Polly. My brother is Sims and he's the same age as my brother... I don't know if he has a last name, but as a three-year-old, you know him well. Or maybe my consciousness is back so I can organize and understand the information...)

He didn't even knock to be the same as usual, and suddenly he opened the door and said, "Mel's here! scream."

(Maybe it's ok because he's the lord's son, but thanks for the manners... well, should we improve slowly from now on...)

Soon Mel, a lovely girl slightly older than herself, appears with big brown eyes in her shortcut brown hair from the inside.

"Master Zach, what are you doing today?

I hadn't thought about it, and I got cramped with the answer and said, "Is that a walk?" Answer like a three-year-old.

(Forty years past the old man playing toddler...... I feel like my shame is getting bumpy)

Mel nodded at me with an adorable smile, "I'm going to play with Zach!" He shouts, "he rushes over.

A cute, mid-twenties feeling woman from the back, Mel's mother Polly, came out of her face as she wiped her hands with an apron.

"Mel! We'll see to it that Master Zach doesn't get hurt! Take care, Master Zach."

I smile and nod loudly, holding hands with Mel.

And I'll use the ability to sneak “see”.

(Melissa Marron, four years old? Is it Melissa so Mel? Still, you usually have a last name. You have a last name because you're a squire serving a knight's house... and yet this little one is one older...)

Hold hands with Mel and head to Dan and Sharon's house.

Her house is about twenty meters from the Marlon family and likewise trees grow around the house.

(If you look closely, you have a walnut-like shell falling off. Is it a tree with edible fruit?

Through the small woods there is a field where leafy vegetables are planted, and in the meadow beyond, sheep eat grass.

(Dan and Sharon are about the same age as me. Is his father Guy and his mother Claire? A guy named Guy has a strong impression of having a bow, too. Is that like a long archer in England? I think Claire has a strong image of my mother. Is it like a nanny or a caregiver?... But I thought you were a squire serving the Lockhart family (of ours), are you a hunter or a farmer or something? You're full of things you don't understand...)

Even Sharon's house suddenly opened the door, just like Mel's, "Dan! Sharon! scream."

I'm embarrassed enough to get my face hot, but I don't get suspicious, so I desperately keep acting.

A blonde boy about my age from the inside, a little discolored wheat ear, shows his face and comes right up to me.

"Morning, Master Zach!

A little perplexed by Dan's voice full of energy, he said, "Morning, Dan!" I return my greetings.

Sharon, a girl who looks like an adult from behind, also comes close.

Sharon was a doll-like beautiful girl with thin blonde hair close to silver and light blue eyes.

"Morning, Sharon," he said with a slightly embarrassing look.

Claire, her mother, also shows up from behind.

Claire is in her early twenties and she looks about the same age as her mother Tanya, a slutty blonde beauty.

She greeted her with a smile and then said, "What are you going to do today?," he asks gently. Apparently she's the caretaker for these four, and she was watching over us yesterday as well.

"I think I'll take a walk today"

To my words Claire leaned her neck and said, "Is it a walk?" He asks.

(Was it awkward? Speaking of not being a kid, maybe, but I've never raised a kid, and I hardly ever had any contact with a little kid. Remember what Zach likes... a horse... no, they say stay away from the stable...)

You thought you didn't know what the question meant by my silence, and Claire said, "Where are you taking a walk? I've been hearing it all over again.

(Well, you've asked me where I'm going... I just want to see it near the mansion, how should I answer it...)

"Hmm. Look at the sheep, I'm going near your mansion"

She said, "You can't go too far. Then, when you approach the sheep, it's dangerous, so don't come close," he laughed, drawing attention.

(You're a kind person. I feel like the mother of the four of us...)

I nod loudly and take Sharon's hand.

(Though a child, I'd rather hold a girl's hand than a boy. Now, let's use a reference…)

Using Sharon's reference skills, he answered, "Sharon Jakes, three years old, human, female."

(Same age? I think Dan's a little older, so he's four. Does having a kid this close in the neighborhood mean he's surprisingly populated around here?

I have a lot of questions on my mind, but I push it into one corner, try to pull Sharon and Mel's hand, and I pop out of the Jakes family.

He was chasing after Dan as he nicked.

When he goes outside, he stops running and walks west toward meadows like pasture.

I walked and took a slow look around.

At the foot of the hill where the mansion is situated are wooden walls two or three meters high, surrounded by circles. In addition to the walls, there were also objects such as marutai assembled.

(Maybe this whole hill is more of a castle role than a mansion. Surrounded by walls means that there are external enemies. And you don't see the soldier...)

And then we take a closer look at the whole hill.

(Even if you look closely, this hill itself has a diameter of two or three hundred meters. As 300 m, the length of the fence is about 1 km. If you're going to defend this castle, you need at least a few hundred soldiers. That's not even what people look like. I have no idea what the situation is)

Mel's house and Sharon's house are on the south side of the mansion. And a few houses were also visible closer to the mansion from there.

(It's not a barracks or anything, it's a regular private house, right? Even though it is small, there are fields too... surround the entire hill with a fence... is it to protect livestock from wildlife)

With that in mind, we move on through the pasture.

By the way, the mocking-haired sheep are eating grass, but they're used to us, too, totally ignoring this one.

Dan was about to give a little bit to the sheep, but I ignore it and walk down the pasture. Approaching the western slope, he slowly turned his gaze and took a look at the western landscape.

At the end of the hill the river is flowing and the water wheel of the water wheel cabin is slowly turning.

Beyond it was a dark green forest, and in the distance there were mountains that looked black.

(There were hills on the south side, and fields were spreading. Far beyond that I could see the mountains. Rivers flow west, deep woods ahead... what's going on north and east? Does it feel like the forest is spreading both north and east in my memory? Apparently, this territory feels like our mansion is at its northernmost end and the village extends south......)

As I walked about 100m through the pasture, Dan rang from behind.

"It's not funny just walking. Hey, let's have a knight."

"A little more, after a walk," he exclaims dumbfounded Dan, heading to the mansion.

As I approach the mansion, I hear a call like "Yes!" or “Hey!".

On the west side of the mansion, several men in leather protective gear were wielding swords and spears.

In it was the figure of my grandfather, Govan Lockhart.

My grandfather wore metal armor like plate armor on his forged skinny body, waving a longer sword.

His face had deep wrinkles as engraved by years of hard work, but he felt younger than he thought.

He looked old in my memory, but if you look good, he looks like he was in his mid-forties, about his age before I came this way.

I'm three now, and my mother is twenty-three. I don't know how old my father is, but considering he's in his mid-twenties, it's not strange even in his mid-forties.

He seemed pretty scared of his grandfather in Zach's memory, and I don't have a very good impression.

A soldier with a spear as old as my grandfather looks like he's training a few young men.

The soldier was Walt, who was pumping water in the morning.

My grandfather shows the shape of a flowing sword, and Walt releases a sharp poke into the air over and over again.

(I don't know any martial arts, but I know Grandpa's swordsmanship is amazing. Walt's spear is plain too, but looks mighty)

Mixed with the young soldiers, a boy about the same age as his brother Rod was waving his sword.

Rod and his boy are losing the weight of a tree stick and fluttering their hips.

(I guess I don't have a choice because I'm in junior grade or so, but that sounds tough. Is the other boy... Sim? Mel's brother?)

After a few minutes of watching the training, we headed to the mansion's garden - just a square where the soil was just pouring out.

Dan is so excited about the knighthood, but I was mentally worn out when he forced me to play toddler again.

(What makes you sad and seriously have to imitate a toddler? This looks like it would be more fun to attend the training)

Though I thought so, I also understood that my body had not been able to withstand the training yet.

I will work out my training plan as I wield a wooden stick with Dan and Mel.

(Making a body out of play is the most natural thing, right? Do you want to start with something like gymnastics so you can move your body freely? If you're a pasture, you can pick a place and it looks soft, start with some basic exercise of forward or backward rotation and work out with wooden climbing and rope-based play equipment......)

Regardless, Dan seems amused to swing a stick of wood and play with whether Mel is also an active child.

But Sharon is a dear child as he seems, or he can't get into that circle.

I don't seem to be stuck. I look at her and I say, "What does Sharon want?," he said.

She shook her neck to the side and shrugged, "Whatever."

(Sharon's memory... sounds like he'd enjoy the whole thing or asking Claire a story...)

"Well, I'll let you talk."

That's what I say, and I'm going to tell you some fairy tale about Isop that I know.

We'll talk about the north wind and the sun and sloppy foxes, etc., but by the way, we don't have enough vocabulary to put the story together well.

Still, I was listening to Sharon with a happy face about whether it was funny or not.

Before I knew it, I had also heard Dan and Mel, listening to each other with an interesting face.

Sharon said, "Dear Zach, Awesome!" He hugs me, "but somehow Mel hugs me the same way.

(Do these two have a thing for Zach? Is that what you have to say even at the age of three or four? I have no idea.)

Until it was lunchtime, I kept getting talked about.

After having lunch and a friendly nap with the four of us, we walk around the mansion again.

What could be ascertained on that walk was that there was a small forest on the east side of the property, horses and cattle were released on the north side, and sometimes, villagers came into the property and were greeted.

As the sun began to tilt and the three of them returned, fatigue hit me harder and harder on a long day.

(I hadn't moved my body much, but don't be lame and tired. I'm hungry, but I don't have the energy to eat. I know how it feels for little kids to be tired and foolish)

I whip on my tired body, wash my hands and face with a well and head to the dining room.

Resting his tired body in the dining room, he started his grandfather and the whole family came together.

When I got to the table just like in the morning, besides my maid Molly, two young women, about twenty years old, were helping her.

One is Tricia, Molly's daughter, who, like Molly, always keeps smiling. The other was Jean, a quiet woman with beautiful dark hair and a calm atmosphere.

Soup is divided into wooden dishes in the same way as in the morning, and more chunks of roasted meat are cut into pieces.

The bread has the same country bread as in the morning and a wooden jock is placed in front of my grandfathers. That seemed like everything for dinner today.

(For once, you have all the proteins and carbohydrates. Are vitamins... just soup vegetables? I don't think I can take the fever-prone vitamins... but I'm not familiar with nutrition...)

I don't even offer a prayer, but somehow the meal begins.

The dishes are just wood dishes, no forks, just spoons and knives, except for the juice. Eat with a basic hand grasp.

(You also need to improve your dietary content and how you eat. Hand grabbing without washing is too much of a hygiene problem…)

I made a note in my heart of what I felt in one day today, and I was sworn to my heart that I would definitely improve it in the near future.
