Dream Life

Lesson 27: Isolation

Me and Sharon gave up taking classes. They're going to say it doesn't make sense to go into school, but having free library access is a huge advantage. In fact, there are many students in the library who are running out of classes in the classroom just like us. We're not the only ones who say we're special.

And it's also good to be in college to hear from Professor Kitty Erbain, who used to be familiar with Liddy.

She is studying God and the Spirit, especially in ruins and ancient documents about God's existence. For this reason, there is also a deep understanding of how to use the power of the Spirit efficiently.

"... In other words, it is a mistake in a sense to say the name of the eight-pillar attribute God is gaining the power of the Spirit of that attribute. Attribute God is only a symbol, and attribute God doesn't give permission to the Spirit."

I leaned my neck slightly,

"Does that mean you don't have to speak the name of the attribute God?

"... right. If it only activates magic, it should still activate. The point is, it's an image. But given the efficiency of magic, you should put the name of the attribute god in the spell."

"In other words, magic is activated even without chanting, but efficiency is diminished. It's easier for the spirits to understand what the operator thinks via the name of the attribute god that is the symbol, but as long as there's enough image, as long as the spirits can understand it, there's no need for spells."

Mr. Kitley nods small and smiles, "Yes," he said.

"But, you know, that symbol works pretty well. For example, it's hard to explain a concept with just a picture without the use of letters. Well... if I were to explain the concept of money without using letters, don't you think it would be pretty tough?

My knowledge of magic grew when I told this story to Mr. Kitley. Sharon, who I'm listening to with, sometimes can't come with me for a little while, but still, he was trying to ask me questions and understand me on the way home, etc. As a result, her knowledge has also risen more than enough.

On the day we went to the library, we only had to leave the homeroom.

Well, since I often go to the woods on sunny days, it feels like I only show my face to the classroom about once every three days.

And about twenty days after enrollment, on September 22nd, it abruptly happened.

I was studying myself in the library without going to the woods because it was raw and hateful weather with light rain that morning.

Mr. Kitley, who knows we're here when it rains, shows his face, as usual. That's how, after staying in the library until about 3: 00 p.m., we headed to the college.

When I opened the classroom door as usual, there was nothing there that was supposed to be. Yes, our desk, which was supposed to be in front of us, was gone.

Sharon didn't know how to react to the situation and was grated.

(I don't know who took the lead, but that's a childish prank. I have a pretty good idea who did it...)

The laughter of couscous begins to leak as we go in.

I went where my seat was and decided to stand on the spot.

Sharon stood just like me, but he didn't know what was going on and still had an anxious look on his face.

I whisper to reassure her, "Leave it to me". Sharon nodded small, at least no more upset on the surface.

After a while, his teacher, Alic Bennett, enters the classroom, but I stand closest to the entrance, so I look giddy for a moment.

"Mr. Lockhart, Miss Jakes. What's this all about? Why don't you have a desk?

I answer pale, without being particularly emotional.

"I'm standing because I don't have a chair. Neither I nor Miss Jakes know much about the lack of desks and chairs"

Teaching Bennett has narrowed his eyes a little and blamed me with a slightly stronger tone.

"Can't you guys even manage the college supplies you've been given?

I came to that word with a cock, but only without breaking the sober tone,

"Are we even required to manage when we are not there? More than that, shouldn't we see who did this kind of prank?

to my words. He was even more vocal,

"You're telling me someone in this class did it! You can't even believe your classmates!

I questioned this unnatural Bennett teaching behavior.

(You shouldn't have to tell your child this far, even if I have a place to be. What do you mean...)

"I'm not saying I'm from this class. I just said we need to see who did the prank."

Teaching Bennett said to it, "Don't be reasonable! ♪ And I've bumped my anger.

"I'm not reasoning. We're the ones that are most annoying in this situation. There's no reason for me to do that. I thought someone was kidding."

"Not only will you not be in my class, but will you be making such a joke? If you're not in class in the first place, I hope you don't need a desk or a chair."

I don't know what to think of teaching Bennett anymore.

(It's too much to say because I don't like it. You want me to quit? For what? If you let me quit as the chief, you'd be questioned about my qualities as a teacher. What's in it for you to attack me? Shake it up a little)

"Does the teacher want to say that we did our own desk and chair somewhere? Is that what you would say when you suspect us without proof?

Didn't Teaching Bennett think I was going to fight back, "I didn't say that," he returned an answer that could draw his hips slightly. But looking around the classroom right away,

"But there are no students in this class who do that. As far as I can tell in class."

"Then he said we, or someone outside this class, did it. So tell me if you doubt us"

In response to that question, he replies with a laugh, "Of course, I believe you."

"But there are times when any good kid would want to play a prank."

"Then you are not doubting me. But when you think I may have made a prank. If that's the way you think, isn't it strange for students in this class to play pranks at their best?

To my counterattack, Teaching Bennett makes his face red and his voice absurd.

"I didn't say that! I wonder if you can only defy me!

I was watching what was going on in the classroom then. Because I thought someone would react to this assertion.

Exploring the signs, it was felt that Quentin Wargman, next to Sharon, and Anita Isherwood, further back, were laughing. Several other students were felt laughing at Couscous even further behind this.

Teaching Bennett is still saying something, but I was ignoring it and thinking about this situation.

(I know the Quentins have been playing a prank. But I don't understand what Dr. Bennett would do with such a child-stained response. Surely an ordinary child would be shocked to not attend school or leave school if abused by the entire class and further teachers. But I don't see the benefit of Dr. Bennett letting me quit. Making me quit is supposed to be a downside, but it throws words at me like harassment... I can't deny the possibility that Dr. Bennett is more of a child than I thought, but it's weird nonetheless...)

I'm still saying something disgusting about Bennett teaching,

"It's a parallel line even if we talk any more. Ok. I'll talk to the other teachers. Right, Dr. Raspade told me to come and see you at any time, so I talked to Dr. Raspade..."

When I said that much, Teaching Bennett panicked and said, "You don't have to talk to another teacher or anything! You're making fun of me!" He blocked my words and bumped his fierce emotions.

At this time, I was quite angry.

(What the hell, this teacher! Ordinary kids would be heartbroken if adults cursed them! If I wasn't here and Sharon was the only one, what would have happened...)

Ignore the Bennett teachings that are still cursing me and analyze this situation.

(Nevertheless, I wonder why Bennett is doing such a stupid thing. I also think this guy is just stupid, but he's still way past it. Maybe you're following someone's instructions......)

I said to Sharon, "I can't help being here," and I took my hand and tried to leave the classroom.

From behind, Bennett teaches "Wait! I hear voices," but ignore it and walk through the classroom.

Several students are nibbling, but the vast majority had a puzzled look on their face.

(It feels like a small group is leading the prank. So I guess Quentin Worgman is on the move. His father is a councillor of the Alliance. As long as you're in this school, you shouldn't want to go against him...)

So I think the response of Teaching Bennett might be Quentin's influence.

(No way! Is Bennett talking to him, too? No matter how many councillors' sons you are, you're not a traitor. I don't think it's that influential...)

I wasn't going to continue to be harassed.

(Maybe I have a thing for abandoning classes, but at least I didn't break the rules, and there are other similar students. Besides, that wouldn't be the attitude teachers take towards their children. Even if I hate you, a teacher should properly mentor a student who made a joke... something more important than that. If the power of the councillor's son was more than I could have imagined, I mean, there's a chance that he won't be able to stay in this city. He's the first to declare that. If so, I have to hit my hand to protect myself...)

When I left class, Sharon called out to me.

"Dear Zach, are you okay? Does the teacher and everyone else hate us?

That's what I've been saying anxiously, so I smile and say, "I'm not."

"Perhaps some students are just kidding. Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it."

When I said that, she smiled and shook her hand back as she held it.
