"But, forgive me...I can't let go of her. I don't want to let go. Please forgive me...!"

At that comment her gaze softened. "It seems like I have no choice." Her eyes flashed red and a bright wave of energy surrounded her small body.

Present day

When Lila opened her eyes she saw a worried looking Haruka. But she extended her hand out. "I love you, can you hold me again?"

Haruka looked at her with wide eyes. "Are you an idiot? You just fainted a minute ago."

"..but I'm okay."

He bit his lip. "I said tonight, wait okay?"

Lila sighed. "I don't want to wait tonight." In the next second she has Haruka under her. "When I said I want you, I want you."

"I want you to know something, even back then I loved you so much." She mumbled.

"Even back then?" Haruka seemed puzzled. "Do you remember?"

"Yes."

"Then, I guess that changes things."

To her surprise, Haruka did not do anything; instead, he drew back after tucking her in. "You need to sleep more. But maybe your hungry now?"

Lila paused when she saw his unusual behavior. She chuckled softly. It seems like she needs to stop acting so boldly and unguarded around him. He is no longer the same as before.

But this is the reason why. Even before she recalled her memories just now, Lila already made her mind up.

One thing she noticed about New York before was how busy and crowded the streets were.

Uwaaah, she's late, really late !!!

But -- she glances at her reflection in the mirror. She wonders if Haruka will be happy with this appearance. She wore a short red dress with tiny faded gold and purple spot print.

On her head, she wore a small purple Santa cap with faded pale purple spots. Sewn to the side is a red ribbon with white lace accent and a large golden bell in the middle.

Diary Of Stars Lovely Christmas coord. Lila had spent quite some time debating about this dress and the s.e.xy Christmas Coord. But today she wants to show Haruka that she can be cute. He always says it. But somehow, this is different.

When she arrived at the meeting spot, however, Lila couldn't find him at all. Eh? Did he already leave? She takes out her phone. Ah, the batteries dead. What does she do? He's probably still around. He wouldn't leave her, and yet,' Can you really be satisfied by this victory?'

"Gee, even if you are excited. Calm down, or you'll hurt your pretty self."

A relieved sigh escapes her lips. "Ah, I'm sorry, I am late."

"It's fine. I actually just got here too. I'm glad I didn't leave you waiting for too long."

"Couple telepathy !!!"

Haruka raised his eyebrow. "Yes, yes. Wrap up." he wraps his scarf around her, and she stares at him.

The scarf around her neck felt comfortable. She didn't realize how cold her neck was until now. But it seems like Haruka is forgetting something here.

She tugged on his hands. "Husband, where is my kiss?"

Haruka looked at her dumbfounded, but soon she felt a light kiss on her lips. "You'll get the real one later. Shall we go see the lights?"

"Date with Haruka ~ date date." Lila sang.

"Hey now…whats with that odd song?"

"It's my new I'm having a date with Haruka song, there are other versions, but this one fits my mood better."

"No, I got that point…"

"I'm hungry, can we get something to eat?"

"Sure, what would you like."

Lila paused. Since she is pregnant, she can't eat anything too oily. Street food is usually like that. But going to a restaurant seemed like a bother to her. As Lila debated about what to get, they stop by a nearby vendor.

Her eyes brightened up. Ah! "Meat buns!"

Haruka paused and sighed. "Well, it shouldn't be too greasy. Wait here."

After Kiryu got them for her, the two of them found a small shelter in a somewhat quiet area and sat down. Despite the snow falling rapidly, the seats had little snow. "Say, my husband, why does it snow here a lot?"

"Hm? I guess it is too do with the different climate in western regions." He trailed off. "I got them for you, but don't you want anything fancier?"

"Nuh-uh, this is fine."

She snuggles up to him. Besides, if they were to go somewhere else, she would not get close to him like this. So this is indeed the better option.

"Food time food time."

Lila took a bite from the meat bun; her chilled body became warm in seconds. But this warmth is probably cause she is leaning onto Haruka. It's always so warm around him after all, even though she knew that from the start, there really is something different about it these days.

"Hey, Lila?"

"Yes?" She turns to him and is met with his lips on hers. A brief chastise kiss, and yet it made her feel like she was melting all over.

Ah-- another kiss! And he's holding her hand.

"Argh geez, your so adorable…"

"Aha, um, you can't control yourself?"

"I really can't. Gee, what are you doing to me?"

What is she doing to him? She is the one who wants to ask her that. Whenever she is with this person, all the issues seem to melt away into nothing.

He is so warm. Even though its snowing and the temperature is minus degrees, she's so happy that she can spend time with Haruka like this on such a special day. However, they've spent time like this together before. It's different now since they are married.

Lila still felt strange about the marriage thing. She is only seventeen going onto eighteen. This still seems unrealistic to her. At times Lila thought all of this was a dream.

Haruka tucks a strand of loose hair and lightly kisses it. Wah, is this a romantic moment? Are they having one? Hearing a chuckling sound, she blinks. Maybe it isn't?

"You know Lila; it's at times like this your thoughts show on your face. So you want to have a romantic moment with me, huh?"

Lila nodded. A thought came to mind. "I thought you were learning?"

Haruka chuckled. "I finished the book; maybe I should get another one."

These days with her husband is so peaceful. But she has to go, after this, she has to leave him. This was the reason why she suggested this date, she wants to leave Haruka with some memories before she has to leave.

"Say Haruka, there is something I want to…"

Haruka brushed his fingers across her lips. "Let's go and see the lights."

When Lila returned with the food, she found Haruka leaning against the tree fast asleep. Lila blinked and deeply sighed. Well, she knew he was tired but didn't say anything. Her thoughts broke off when she felt the presence of somebody behind her.

"So, you've decided haven't you?"

"It's not that I dislike them. In fact the information they've been providing and the cooperation they have shown is welcome. Everything they've shown us is definitely something that would benefit humans."

The man chuckled. "So, why would you go against Zane?"

"Because there is something more important than the benefits." Lila turned to face him.

The man was dressed oddly. He wore a top hat, a mask and a brightly coloured suit. His face covered but she could spot the trace of a deep scar on his face.

"This place."

"This place?"

"The universe, where everything started. Humanity created civilization, they build cities and developed culture. The reason we live today is because of that. All of that happened in this universe. Not to the dark beings. It doesn't belong to them. This place belongs to us. It's not something they can toy with and destroy."

"It belongs to us?"

"I fell in love with this world. Fell in love with humanity. It's not simply due to seeing the beauty of the world, but seeing the ugly side to it too. Now that I've seen both, I can say these words.." Lila mumbled. "That's exactly why, I have to go."

She turned to the man who was fast asleep. It pained her to leave him. She wanted to see more things and enjoy this day more. But, this is the right time to leave.

Would he hate her?

Lila c.a.r.e.s.sed his cheeks and bent down to kiss him. This is the last kiss for awhile. No, she doesn't even know if they will meet again.

'I will try to survive and come back to you.'

The person who she spoke to moments ago vanished like he was a figment of her imagination. But, she could still hear his voice echoing in her head. Lila continued to kiss Haruka. She didn't want to go, but she has no choice.

"I'm sorry, but I love you."
