Chapter 30 Horse Racing (1 more)

On the second day, early in the morning, after breakfast, Su Rong took Yue Wan to the guest courtyard to look for Zhou Gu.

Yue Wan yawned while walking, seeing Su Rong eat and sleep well, refreshed, very sad, "Miss, you oppressed me, I'm so sleepy."

   "Why don't you go."

"No, Miss and Young Master Zhou are going out together, how can there be no one around." Yue Wan shook her head, "The Da Furen said, next month give me Chang Yue's money."

She regained her spirits and said happily, "My monthly bill is the same as Wang Ma."

"Congratulations." Su Rong patted her on the head, "Look at the account book carefully. If you learn well, when I marry in the future, I will be my housekeeper, and I will give you the highest monthly bill in the whole house."

Yue Wan suddenly felt relieved, "Alright, then I must study hard."

The master and servant came to the guest courtyard, Su Rong stopped at the door, and waved to a servant inside, "Go and ask Zhou Gu, is he alright? We went to play in Phoenix Mountain."

The boy should be, and went immediately.

Zhou Xi came out from the inside, and saluted Su Rong, "Miss Seven, the younger one is Zhou Xi, who is in charge of the Duke Protector's Mansion."

   "Master Zhou is doing well."

Zhou Xi thought about Miss Seven's appearance. She was one of the best in the capital, and she was really a good match with the Fourth Young Master. Except for her inferior status, she was not timid, unreserved, and generous. Looking at it this way, she really couldn't pick anything out.

He smiled all over his face, "Fourth Young Master just finished his breakfast and packed up, why don't you come in and wait for a while?"

"No, I'll just wait for him here!" Su Rong asked, "Do you want to play with us, Manager Zhou?"

Zhou Xi shook his head, "The younger ones won't go. People should come from Jiangzhou Governor's Mansion today, so the younger ones will stay in the mansion and deal with them together with Mr. Su and his wife."

  Su Rong nodded.

Zhou Gu didn't keep Su Rongjiu waiting, and quickly walked out from inside. When he saw Su Rong, he asked her naturally: "You said yesterday that you're going to ride a horse today?"

"yes."

"Ziye ate fish yesterday and ruined his stomach. I'm resting at the mansion today. I don't have to go to Yuewan. I just bring a few guards." Seeing Yuewan's sleepy face, Zhou Gu said kindly.

Su Rong naturally had no objection, she turned her head and said to Yue Wan: "Okay, you can go back and catch up on sleep."

Yue Wan was worried, and pulled Su Rong's sleeve, "Miss, is this really okay?"

"Okay, mother won't tell you, there are guards here." Su Rong pushed her, "Go back!"

"Okay!" Yue Wan nodded, turned and went back.

Zhou Gu and Su Rong went out together, and when they came to the door, Zhou Gu still rode the red-maned horse he had brought, while Su Rong asked someone to bring a black and shiny black horse, which was so tall that it could stand shoulder to shoulder with Zhou Gu's red-maned horse.

Zhou Gu looked at her, "You ride such a tall and strong horse?"

Su Rong smiled at him, "I'm good at riding."

Zhou Gu looked her up and down, remembering her amazing skill of catching fish yesterday that made his jaw drop, he was noncommittal, untied the horse's reins, and got on the horse. After he sat down, he saw that Su Rong didn't need anyone's support, and she pulled the horse's mane with her slender wrist, hugged the horse's neck, and got on the horse neatly.

He deliberately tested her, "Can you race horses?"

Su Rong paused, "A little bit."

"After we leave the city, we will race horses." Zhou Gu tried his best to correct his perception of her when he first met her.

  Su Rong agreed, "Success."

In Jiangning County in the early morning, it was the least crowded time of the day. There were few people walking on the street, and the guards trailed a short distance behind them, and the two left the city smoothly.

When they came to Chengwai, Su Rong stretched out his hand to show Zhou Gu the way, "After walking ten miles along this official road, there is a fork on the left, which leads directly to the foot of Phoenix Mountain. There is a stone tablet at the fork as a sign. It is easy to find. It is more than 20 miles in total."

"Okay!" Zhou Gu memorized it, looked at Su Rong, "You really know how to race horses, right?"

Su Rong wondered whether the horse racing would not let him be like playing chess, or whether she was fast, ruthless, and relentless like fishing. If she frightened him again and again, would she scare him away? Not so good? Even if you don't cheat on the marriage, shouldn't you let him understand and accept it step by step?

"Take out your chess and fishing skills." Zhou Gu was keenly aware of her entangled emotions, and laughed angrily, "Young master grew up on horseback, so I don't believe that you can't beat you in chess, and you can lose to you in horse racing. Don't hide it."

Su Rong stopped thinking immediately, "If I really show my skills, will you be scared away by me?"

Zhou Gu disdained, "Who do you look down on?"

Su Rong was relieved when he heard the words, and smiled brightly at him, "Well, Zhou Gu, that's what you said, I won't be polite."

"Success, you don't have to be polite." Zhou Gu added, "You look light and fluffy, you can't run a horse, have you been knocked flying?"

"Who do you look down on?" Su Rong refuted him with his own words, "I am light, and I can lighten the weight of the horse, so the horse can run fast."

"Okay, let's start!" Zhou Gu was aroused to win.

So, the two hit the horse at the same time and rushed out together.

Zhou Gucong can walk, so it can be said that he can ride a horse, Su Rong will be later, but when other children are playing with mud, Su Rong has grown into a little scourge, she can play, and she must do everything well, so equestrian skills are naturally good, at least, in the entire Jiangning County, she claims that no one can match her.

But Zhou Gu was born in the Duke Protector’s Mansion after all, and the Duke Protector’s Mansion relied on military merits to make him a illustrious family. When Zhou Gu was born, the world was at peace. Although the old Duke Protector didn’t allow him to join the army and let him study literature, he had a family background. He mixed with the guards of the Duke Protector’s Mansion since he was a child, riding horses and archery. Because of his family blood, he was born with that material.

So, when Zhou Gu and Su Rong raced horses, he never thought that he could lose, and he certainly would not lose.

He lost face playing chess, but now he can’t lose face anymore in horse racing, and decided to say nothing, but when he actually let the horse run, he found that Su Rong was only a horse behind him, which still surprised him.

The two horses moved forward one after the other. When they approached the foot of Phoenix Mountain, Su Rong rolled his eyes, and suddenly threw out the silk sash on his arm, and the rear horse that entangled Zhou Gu abruptly retreated.

Zhou Gu was stunned, he didn't expect Su Rong to be able to do this.

Su Rong arrived early, turned around, and laughed at Zhou Gu, "Zhou Gu, you lost!"

Laughter is as sweet as silver bells.

  Zhou Gu: "..."

  He stared, "You're playing tricks."

Su Rong was very calm, with a smile all over his face, "I didn't say you can't play tricks."

Zhou Gu grinds his teeth, is it because he is too upright? He laughed angrily, and stretched out his hand to lift the silk sash tied to the horse's hind leg, "If you are so treacherous, who would dare to marry you?"

  Su Rong: "..."
