Lord Class

Erix fell silent after Lucius left the room a while ago. His confidence in charming the elf in front of him seemed to have disappeared into thin air.

The receptionist elf had been staring at Erix since Lucius entered the registration room, making the young man feel slightly uncomfortable and embarrassed. From the look in her eyes, Erix was certain that if he were food, the elf would have devoured him right away.

“Is there something wrong with me?” Erix asked.

“No, it’s just that you look unpleasant,” she replied.

In his heart, Erix screamed, “What does that mean?!”

The elf continued to stare at Erix intently.

“Are you upset that I flirted with you earlier?” He tried to guess the elf’s meaning.

“Finally, you understand,” she replied with a condescending smile. “You know, every man who has ever hit on me ended up dead in the dungeon. So I don’t date shensins.”

Erix fell silent. He didn’t know how to respond.

The sound of the door creaking was heard as Lucius opened it from inside. Erix immediately approached him and bombarded him with various questions. But Lucius didn’t have time to answer as the beautiful elf ordered her master to enter the room immediately.

Just like Lucius, when Erix entered, there was no source of light at all. It was pitch black. Then, a light appeared on the floor and formed a hexagram with magic symbols surrounding it. The same person came from the front and ordered him to stand in the middle of the hexagram.

“State your name out loud!” the person exclaimed, but his voice trembled.

“Erix Arthur!” Erix replied loudly.

Nothing happened.

“State your real name,” the person in front said.

“That’s my name!” Erix exclaimed.

“Arthur…? Is that also part of your name? Or are you just adding it to mimic the name of a hero.”

“Of course, it’s part of my name. My jerk of a father gave me that name,” Erix said in a flat and cold tone.

“If that’s true, then why didn’t anything happen?” the person muttered in surprise. “It shouldn’t be like this if that’s his real name. Something must be wrong.”

Erix realized his mistake, then he stated his name again loudly. “Erix Oscar Zoratres Ibrahim Gabrielis Arthur!”

The light on the hexagram shone even brighter. The energy turbulence surrounded the young man.

“Okay, now what is your goal in becoming a shensin?” the person continued his question. “Answer out loud!”

Erix fell silent. “What is my goal in becoming a shensin?”

Actually, he had never thought about it. He only intended to register as a shensin without any specific reason.

Suddenly, a memory came to his mind when Haruka was crying and asking for his help to enter the dungeon. He also remembered how difficult it was to be inside. At that time, she was able to enter the boss room and save Yura because he and Lucius helped her.

But, if Erix didn’t accompany her, who would protect her? Thinking about this made him a little uneasy. He wouldn’t be at ease knowing that she was in that dangerous place without protection. And also, he couldn’t trust anyone else to take care of her. Until he realized one thing.

“What is your goal in becoming a shensin?” the person repeated his question with a louder voice.

Erix smiled and answered loudly, “To protect Haruka!”

Just like Lucius earlier, a ball of light emerged from the floor and formed a symbol that resembled a weapon, surrounding him. The guide explained to Erix about the class and other things just as he explained to Lucius earlier.

But before Erix could choose, suddenly the ground shook. Strangely, the vibration only occurred inside that room. Lucius and the beautiful elf with him didn’t feel anything outside the room even though they were in the same building.

The guide who was inside with Erix was startled and panicked. Unlike Erix, who remained motionless and busy looking at the light surrounding him.

The light on the hexagram became brighter. Then other glowing magic symbols appeared, encircling the hexagram on the floor.

A magic pattern appeared above Erix’s head in a carving of light. The pattern was in the shape of an octagram, a beautiful eight-pointed star.

The octagram pattern descended and overlaid the hexagram pattern on the floor. An explosion of energy occurred, making the grains of light splash like waves of water.

Erix’s body also emitted light, and its radiance was no less bright than the two magical light patterns on the floor. The radiance of holy light from the young man’s body seemed to symbolize that he came from heaven.

The class symbols that were previously divided into two groups now joined together to form a row and surrounded Erix clockwise. The rotation of these symbols was even faster than before.

It didn’t stop there. From each rotating class symbol, it slowly shattered and released a powder of light. The powder of light gathered at one point, directly above Erix’s head.

The class symbols continued to rotate, emitting the same powder of light, and the it continued to accumulate, forming a giant ball of light. This continued until all the class symbols had disappeared, leaving no trace behind, and the ball of light had become even larger, and its radiance was brighter than all the lights on the floor.

The room continued to vibrate, giving off an indication of the tremendous energy pressure. The ball of light radiated its light towards the sky, piercing the ceiling of the building and reaching the sky, forming a pillar of light. But all the beings in Leavgard were unaware of the presence of this pillar of light because the sunlight was brighter, making the pillar of light invisible.

Several people scattered throughout the world noticed this phenomenon. It was a good omen they had been waiting for from generation to generation.

A sturdy farmer who was digging with a hoe stopped working when he felt the pillar of light.

A witch who was teaching in a magic class stopped her lesson and walked to the window to look outside. She looked very happy to see the pillar of light.

A general who was sitting under a tree smiled instantly after seeing the pillar of light.

A couple sitting in a park, lost in their own romantic world, were taken aback when they saw the pillar of light. Their ecstatic cheers startled some of the people around them, who even thought they were crazy.

A bard woke up from his sleep on a tree when he felt the appearance of the pillar of light.

A handsome professor burst out laughing with excitement when he saw the pillar of light.

The pillar of light that had been predicted centuries ago as a sign of the Hero’s arrival had come.

The light on the pillar shone brightly for a while, then began to shrink and eventually disappeared. Erix silently watched the light fade away. But from the remnants of the pillar of light, a symbol in the shape of a crown emerged. And the ground stopped shaking.

The crown symbol was a new class symbol that combined all existing classes. It floated above Erix’s head. The guide who had been with the young man was stunned. He had read about this phenomenon in a book before. The event where the king would come. With a class possessed only by one person, a class with a crown-shaped symbol, the king’s class.

“T-t-t-that… Lo-lo-lord Class!” the guide swallowed his saliva. “Lord Class has appeared!!”

The crown symbol entered Erix’s body, accompanied by the shrinking of the hexagram and octagram shining on the floor until they disappeared. A star carving appeared on his chest, indicating that he had officially become a shensin.

Erix felt something unusual in his body after the crown light entered him. Like something flowing through him. His body felt extremely light, and his chest felt like a bomb ready to explode. “I feel a tremendous power in my body,” he said excitedly.

The guide was really panicking, crawling to leave the room. Erix became suspicious of his strange behavior.

“Why are you so panicked? What does this event mean?” Erix asked calmly. He had no idea what was going on.

The man didn’t answer, quickly crawling away like a lizard. “He-he-heroo… S-s-symbol of the hero.”

Despite the darkness, Erix’s eyesight was as sharp as a cat’s. He quickly darted and caught the man from behind while leaning something against his back.

“What are you doing?” the man asked in fear.

“Whether you want to answer my question or not is up to you. I’ve given you a curse. If you tell anyone about this, the curse will crawl into your heart and squeeze it until it breaks, and you will die.” Erix let go of his grip and let the man go.

Actually, Erix didn’t really curse the young man. He couldn’t do it, and he only leaned his index finger against the man’s stomach.

When Erix saw the man’s reaction to the Lord Class, he felt that there was one truth that he didn’t know. Something that made him curious. So, he decided to keep this a secret until he knew more. He was afraid that this class status would bring strange things that would complicate things for him.

On the other hand, Erix knew that the man was cowardly and weak-minded. He just used that to make him quiet.

After he was done, Erix left the room.

“Master, everything went well, right?” Lucius asked eagerly.

“Of course,” the young man replied, giving a thumbs up.

“We’re going to the Abyss Lake Dungeon!” A thundering voice from outside hit their eardrums. The two young men looked at each other, questioning the call.
