DXD: Hard To Kill

"Hey old man why are we just hiking this mountain on the ground when we can fly?"

It's been a week since we began hiking Mount Thundermine, odd that a frozen snowy mountain would be named Thundermine.

"You must learn to slow down in life. Besides, did you not say you wished to enjoy life? Look around you, the land itself while frozen has a sense of beauty to it."

I turned my gaze toward the horizon taking in the sight. Trees covered in snow, ice elementals floating around, snow yetis building makeshift snow caves, ice tigers and other wildlife peeking out their caves. I admit that the scenery is beautiful but....

"It was beautiful for the first few days but it gets old considering pretty much everything tried to kill us the way up. I am literally pumping out a constant stream of reiatsu to keep spiritual pressure up so most of the animals don't keep coming at us in waves!"

I sighed with a hand covering my face. It was true that the moment I let up on the spiritual pressure, everything would start coming out of the woodworks like a certain dungeon defense game.

"And you have done well keeping up your pressure for this long. Even with no limit to your spiritual energy, it still taxes the mind aswell so this is perfect training for you"

Can't disagree with that. Atleast were not wasting more time with his tea ceremonies since according to him the weather just isn't right for it.

"Compose yourself child! it's just an overgrown lizard."

Said the old man as shiro was vibrating from sheer excitement

"Bu-but old man it's a freakin ice dragon!!! look at it!"

pointing towards the slumbering ice dragon of the mountain

"You have already seen a dragon boy"

"That dragon back then was an undead one, this is a living ICE DRAGON!"

he exclaimed with stars in his eyes

"What is so special about it?"

The head captain could not understand as he was already used to a certain white haired boy throwing ice dragons

"Ah.. well it's just I always wanted to have ice powers in my past life and this also being a dragon is just a plus hehe"

He said embarrassingly with red cheeks

"Ho? then are you disappointed with Ryuujin Jakka's flames?"

He quickly shook his head

"What no! I mean while I do like all things ice related, I've still grown fond of using fire. It's just an old habit for me to fanboy over ice stuff"

Shiro quickly explained

"Well I suggest you handle it quickly seeing as all this chatter has awoken it"

"wait what?"

was the last thing shiro said before being slammed to the wall by an ice covered tail

Climbing out of the wall shaking off the debris

'Alright, fanboy later and fight now. I could probobly just melt the dragon with fire' He thought as he readied his sword

"Reduce all creation to ash RYUUJIN JA-"

he was cut off by the yelling old man

"I FORGOT TO MENTION, NO ZANPAKUTO OR KIDO. YOU MUST DEFEAT IT WITH YOUR BODY"

shiro took a moment to process that

"WHAT!? BUT IT'S LITERALLY MADE OF ICE, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BEAT THAT WITH MY BODY??!"

"Your hakuda still needs work, consider this your final test for it"

He didn't have much time to stay dumbfounded as he jumped out of the way of the claw slamming down at where he once stood

Skasa the Ice Dragon knew better to avoid the old man in favor of killing the weaker child. She could feel the ludicrous amount of power from the head captain's gaze that it made her feel fear. Her a dragon feeling fear seemed unthinkable however she was relieved to find that the old man showed that he would not interfere as she tried to kill the red haired boy.

The child, while she is unable to discern the limits of his power. She is able to clearly see that the pressure the boy gave off was much less than the old veteran. However as she continued to fight, she couldn't help but be amazed. No matter how much she cut, bite, slammed and breathed beams at the boy he continued to get up as if he felt nothing. She watched as the boy disappeared from her sight and felt his presence directly next to her.

"IKKOTSU" He yelled as he delivered a single strike into her side

While she didn't move she felt the pain, she quickly spun creating a small cyclone forcing the boy back

"SEE OLD MAN? LOOK AT ALL THE NOTHING THAT DID, IT'S COMPLETELY FIST PROOF" yelled the boy towards the head captain

"PUNCH IT HARDER" The head captain yelled back

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN PUNCH IT HARDER!?"

The dragon felt that she picked the wrong fight
