Lan Ranyan paused for a bit, pulled out her notes and continued.

"Which legend and myth are you referring to?" She asked Wahab Saif

Wahab Saif was silent for a while and then solemnly started "Legends have it that before this place was a desert, it was lush and green, full of vegetation. In the Kingdom of Sylvannas..."

Lan Ranyan's eyes went blank as her face turned cold, before Wahab Saif could say another word, Lan Ranyan leaned over to the counter and grabbed his neck.

And slammed him on the counter like a chicken to be slaughtered on a chopping board.

Wahab Saif choked a bit before Lan Ranyan loosened her hold and released him

"One more stupid nonsense and I'll freeze you to death! So, stop wasting my time, and answer my question" she added.

Wahab Saif kept massaging his neck while gasping for air and then nodded in submission.

Wahab Saif turned timid as he told her about the Ratu Al Draka being reffered to as the "Undying Swarm" that laid waste to countless cities in the continent for centuries.

They originally came from the seas and later went to the main land. It was only after the Kingdoms have banded together as they retreated further into land and had the final battle here in what became the desert.

They are by nature nocturnal and hibernate underground for most of the time, they just tend to appear slow to catch their prey off guard and are relentless when they have set sights in anything that could be considered easy prey.

It was said that the only way to fight off the Ratu Al Draka was to devour them as soon as they die in order to ensure that they no longer regenerate. It was one of the reasons how their ancestors were able to finally win back the continent.

Lan Ranyan listened intently while taking down notes. After the explation was over, she took the scale and the meat and left.

After she left, Wahab Saif took out a small piece of meat that he discreetly took earlier and left the building in haste.

Zhang Shan was standing at the lobby of the Discovery Testing Facility waiting for Lan Ranyan when he received a system prompt for a quest. When Lan Ranyan appeared, he greeted her her with a smile.

"Hey, where should we log-off to?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" She answered.

Zhang Shan explained receiving a system prompt while Lan Ranyan listened and contemplated for a while before telling him that she recived a different one.

"We should meet up with Ye Qing and Ye Qian first, I'm have a feeling that something is going to happen soon." She hastily replied while immediately rushing out of the building.

When Ye Qing and Ye Qian approached the city center, they saw a familiar figure in front of the teleporter. What was immediately noticeable was the glowing purple aura around it. When it saw them, it raised it its sword and slashed at the teleporter.

*BAAAAAADDDDDDDDUUUUMMMMM*

The two almost toppled over due to the force of impact. When they stabilized themselves, they saw it pointing it's sword towards them and stared speaking.

"Klatuk arada ormasar?" it said, anger in its stone was clearly felt. The way it looked at them seems to be full of malice.

"Elder brother, it seems to be looking for the slayer... Is he looking for Zhang Shan?" Ye Qian asked.

Ye Qing nodded and whispered... "We might be way over our heads now, there's no way we can win..."

"Since we have finished our quest, we can just sacrifice Zhang Shan, at the very least, He could always revive after a day, We'll just make it up to him afterwards..." he added.

Before Ye Qian could respond, a bunch of icicles went flying towards them. Ye Qing saw Lan Ranyan and Zhang Shan approaching them.

Ye Qing disappeared in a flash and reappeared in the middle of the attack route. When Lan Ranyan saw this, she dispelled her attack spell which almost hit Ye Qing.

The "doppelganger" turned around slowly, seeing what Ye Qian did, it approached him gently and repeatedly patted his shoulder as if saying " a wise choice" and then slowly walked over to where Zhang Shan is at.

Seeing this happen, Lan Ranyan seemed to have understood, she looked at the ruins of the teleporter, then nodded at Ye Qian, she then turned to Zhang Shan and said.

"Shan-shan, it seems your "doppelganger" is after your head..."

Zhanh Shan stuttered... "W-why me?"

She answered "I'm guessing it's because you pissed it off after you kill-stealed its prey..."

"We may need you to sacrifice yourself, you'll definitely die and may need to wait for 24 hour's before logging back in. Seeing that he followed us here, I don't think he'll stop until he kills you. Don't worry, We'll wait for you here." She added.

Zhang Shan nodded, "I understand, its only for a day anyway..."

As the "doppelganger" approached, Ye Qian and Ye Qing went forward to them as well.

The "doppelganger" looked at Lan Ranyan and bowed his head a bit and signalled her to move aside in which she complied.

Ye Qian translated "Zhang Shan, he seems to say you are very responsible and something about an honor killing you."

Zhang Shan smiled as he opened his arms and closed his eyes, seemingly accepting his fate.

While it was raising it's sword towards Zhang Shan. Zhang Shan opened his eyes and seemed to have a realization as his face contorted in an ugly manner.

He signalled his hands forward as he shouted "Wait! Wait! Wait! I can't die!!!"

The four looked at him with confused look.

"P.u.s.s.y..." Lan Ranyan purred

"N-no, it's not like t-that... I c-can't d-die..." he stammered

This time, the "doppelganger" slashed immediately and cut through Zhang Shan like tofu, he was cut diagonally in half from the neck down to the waist, blood splaterring everywhere as he fell to the floor in two pieces.

Ye Qian hid behind Ye Qing after seeing this gruesome scene.

Ye Qing and Lan Ranyan looked away as well, as they coudn't bear a friend dying in front of them even though they have been used to killing.

"Shit! Ow, ow, ow... that f*cking hurts!!!" Zhang Shan suddenly shouted.

Ye Qing, Ye Qian and Lan Ranyan looked back at Zhang Shans mutilated corpse, their mouths hanging open in shock.

"Y-you're not d-dead?!?" Ye Qian stuttered

"Is that your gene?" Lan Ranyan asked smiled, seemingly enlightened.

"Yes!" Zhang Shan answered as his body and blood started to move back in place to regenerate.

Before Ye Qing could talk further, the "doppelganger" slashed a few more times at Zhang Shan.

After a few more slashes, there wasn't any further response from Zhang Shan. That's when the "doppelganger" stopped, one can see that this time the "doppelganger" was breathing heavily and panting

A few arrows flew by and sunk into the the dismembered body parts of Zhang Shan.

Ye Qian, Lan Ranyan and the "doppelganger" looked surprised and followed their gazes to the direction where the arrows came from, they saw Ye Qian trying to load another arrow.

When Ye Qian noticed that she was being stared at by the others, shrugging her shoulders she said "What?"

"Just making sure he's dead..." as she relased another arrow.

"...I'll r-remmember this Y-ye Qian.." Zhang Shan's weak voice crept from his now disfigured and dismembered head.

When Lan Ranyan heard this she looked flabbergasted, and after a while her eyes went blank as her face looked cold.

She went over to the pieces of meat scattered all over the ground which was once called Zhang Shan...

"Just die already..." Lan Ranyan said coldy as she started stepping on the meat chunks.

Ye Qian, Ye Qing and the "doppelganger" joined in afterwards.

This went on for quite a while until the "doppelganger" stopped and bent down to pick something off the ground.

When the three saw this, they stopped as well.

"That's Zhang Shan's Soul Stone!" Lan Ranyan said.

As the "doppelganger" picked it up, it opened it's mouth and swallowed it.
