Chapter 15 - Guild Leaders

"So, where is this Clover? Your leader?"

It's not a commotion, but more of an interrogation. A man with the body of a lion beast is standing at the front desk, asking the NPC who are receiving the guests. The NPC looked at him with a straight face showing no value of emotion. It is as if the character is on stand by and can only be activated by a certain command.

"It's not answering," Ton-96 said, his subordinate.

"Maybe we have to click on an icon or something?" Tea-32 commented.

The lion beast threw a loud thump on the counter, earning the attention of other players who just arrived on the scene. The few people who are behind him wondered what made the Guild Leader angry again. The table issued a 0 EXP value, meaning that his action did no damage on it. That must be because this is a neutral ground.

"Where is your guild master? Hey, I'm asking you," Jung-55, known as Nyanko by the chat board, said.

The NPC remained still, looking straight ahead, but the sight is nowhere close to them. In a normal game, NPCs are said to respond once the player approached it. However, asking the NPC would be very impossible. The NPCs are often used for quests but they will never hold any value. Under certain conditions, a dialogue will appear with different texts but that is part of the story line of the game.

However, the creation of DTO and VR allowed the customization of NPC. Though expensive, it allowed the players to create characters on their liking. There are ready made NPCs that are cheaper to buy that most of the guilds use for the maintenance of their places. While these expensive and customized NPCs are for security and some classified jobs the players can't do themselves.

This one of the front desk must be one of those customized NPCs that will only respond to guild members.

"Should we just contact any of the members?" Ton-96 suggested.

The members agreed. By this time, another group arrived from the portal. They are creatures known with long hair and pointy ears. The group wore lightly colored robes with staffs and jewels hanging around their necks. Some are even riding on their brooms and staffs.

"Oh, isn't it the Arcana?" Tea-32 said.

Lead by the leader Zen, Rios-72 headed towards the reception desk where a group is already checking in. He found the Guild Leader of Thunder Beasts standing on the front with a look filled with rage. He waved his hand, as if greeting him, and joined the player on the front.

"What's with that look? It's still so early in the night," Rios-72 said.

"We've been here for ten minutes. The NPC is not responding on our call," Ton-96 accepted the question.

"Of course, we know how strict Clover is when it comes to security. I heard Xav would be here to accept guests."

Right just after he said that, a player in the same kind appeared from the side. The player's face looks a bit gloomy while murmuring some words. The Arcana's Guild Leader called him. Xav-11 looked up and saw the crowd. His frown turned upside down and greeted the reps.

"Welcome! Welcome! I'm glad you all came!" The elf exclaimed, his arms raising up high as if wanting a group hug.

But nobody gave him a hug. Though, some of the beasts might want to glomp him and play with him but not with the presence of their Guild Leader. Xav-11 cried with the cold attitude and came crying towards Rios-96.

"It's fine, it's fine," Rios-96 chuckled.

"Hey, when will you let us in?" Jung-55 asked.

Though, despite his harsh words and rude character, Jung-55 is somewhat the quiet and strict type when in personal. He's only powerful with his words, like a dog that barks but know no bites. Though, when it comes to the battlefield, he is excellent. He's not the King of the Beasts for nothing.

"Oh yeah, right away!" Xav-11 ended his lousy acting and proceeded on guiding the group inside the all-wall hallway.

And so as they are waiting, another group appeared. The place somehow started getting dark and the surroundings are being cramped with the growth of mushrooms and creeping plants. By this presence, they already know who just arrived. Rios-96 looked at them with a grin on his face.

Other than the Elven Race, there's also that one race whose affinity in magic is also high - The Undead race.

"Hello, am I late?" Melon-45, named as MelonPan in Disboard, asked.

"Oh, you just came in time," Xav-11 approached the player. Then he saw the blackening of the surroundings. "Gibberish! Could you please stop spreading your miasma? It took me a long time to polish the floors!"

"Oh, sorry," Melon-45 chuckled. "It's not that we can stop it."

Following Melon-45 is his guild, members of the Undead race. By the name, one can tell the appearance of these characters. The main obvious thing would be the all bones no flesh characters, the Half-zombies, and the Necromancers. The group is releasing a dark mana content called miasma.

"But you can control it, geez," Xav-11 pouted, now continuing to what he was doing earlier.

On the front hall, one can just simply see the mixture of races mingling together. While the Guild Leaders waited on the front, their members are chatting on their friends who belonged to the other group. Of course, some of these players are members of the Cassaianne Guild once, and maybe the place where they first met.

Xav-11 finished navigating the guild's system as the large wooden door once again opened. From their places, they can already hear some muffled noise from the inside. He didn't waited for more instructions and pushed the door open once again, showing to the crowd the huge mess hall and the party that is currently on the go.

The Guild Leaders instructed their members to have fun then they followed Xav-11 towards the bar. They saw the guild leader of the Artisan's guild already sipping his drink in one of the chairs. He even turned around, raising the spint of soda on his hand, and greeted his brothers.

"Gentlemen! What took you so long?" Allen-38 asked.

"You're just too early," Melon-45 replied.

He dashed towards the carefree drinker with an intent of attack. The Artisan quickly moved, faster then light, then Melon-45 could only see his after image. They both raised their arms and slapped each other, then firmly having a handshake, then an appear. the succession of such action are too fast the only thing managed to catch is the two of them already appearing their hands.

"Brother!" Allen-38 called out. "Long time no see!"

"Brother!" Nelon-45 responded with the same tone. "We've just saw each other earlier!"

Everyone ignored the two. It's already known among the VR players that Melon-45 and Allen-38 are close friends in real life. More of, the both of them are cousins. That is why they almost agreed on everything, even on teasing Jung-55, they are both at it.

"It looks like all of the important people of the game are all here," Melon-45 retorted.

"Not all," the Beast King commented. "That four-leaf guy is not here."

Among the players, only these guys and some people really met Clover personally. The King Beast turned his attention to Xav-11 who flinched upon catching his attention.

"W-what?" The elven trembled.

"Where is your guild master?"

Jung-55 locked the small creature and towered him. Both Melon-45 and Allen-38 cheered the beast with some fan props on their hands while yelling. Rios-72 stayed out of trouble and ordered a drink from Ari-05 who just watched his companion to be dominated.
