Chapter 32 - 32 - Confirmation and distress.

Those nomadic tribal men passed through the thick lush forest areas and appeared in front of the cave where they razed the nearby area and retrieved more of those wolves corpses killed with the same method.

Yothen nodded his head signaling the Chieftain with his fingers towards the cave entrance after inspecting those corpses as well, reading his signal the chief responded back with a slight nod as well.

Taking lead the Chieftain stood on the edge of the entrance and shouted "Venerable priest of White goddess, I am the Chieftain from a nearby tribe and these are my tribesman, obeying the ancient agreement we've arrived here to welcome your presence in our Humble tribe"

His voice echoed into the dark cave but no reply reciprocated back, not even a whisper nothing at all.

'why is this freeloader not coming out?' the Chieftain cursed in himself and shouted once again "Venerable priest please don't meditate in this shabby cavern, come to our ancestral lands"

Seeing no hint of a reply this time either, the hunky Chieftain frowned and started considering what to do next.

Suddenly Yothen's voice came from behind "Chief, I suggest we should enter and see the situation ourselves, I sense something's wrong"

Hearing his worried voice and reading his anxious face the Chieftain apparently realized something and he, with no intention to further delay abruptly jumped in taking the flaming torch with him.

The other four followed him quickly and entered the cave through the narrow entrance, they chased their Chieftain's footsteps hurriedly and followed the exact directions, avoiding the deep trenches and potholes where they would've felled in without any instructions.

Very soon they caught up with their Chieftain and accompanied him by forming the line formation once again.

Neither of them said anything they just quietly and hastily circ.u.mnavigated alongside him.

Along the way, they encountered 10-15 a.d.u.l.t wolves corpses and along with five or so wolf cubs. Seeing this, they just brushed it off and didn't stop as they already have confirmed it earlier. And the priority was to find the priest.

After five more minutes of more careful advancement, the Chieftain stopped momentarily as If he sensed something and abruptly started running extraordinarily fast he moved like a flash of wind passing through the rusting grass. He created multiple green afterimages as he ran off with the momentous speed.

Though a bit amazed the remaining 4 people didn't seem to be that surprised, and a second later they too started utilizing the same method albeit at a slow speed, trying to catch up with their Chieftain.

They finally caught up with their Chieftain, he stands some distance away from a man who was lying on the floor, clothed in a black leather armor over his body and armed with a curved sword hanging around his waist strapped by a small buckler.

On his left, a fractured black jar could be seen which had some unknown sigils on it. Adjacent to the person was a huge altar within it several sigils of the same pattern were carved in its structure enclosing the altar like a layer.

When looked carefully they could man was radiating faint white-colored energy with a bit of a golden taint into the atmosphere, like he was getting deflated, his energy was escaping rapidly.

Suddenly, they heard Yothen's voice and noticed he was ahead of them and had already reached there. "Chief quick, his magic structure got damaged don't let the energy escape"

They sighed and sped themselves up too while having the thought;

'No wonder he's the disciple of the Shaman'

Within moments they also reached there and stood behind their Chief, carefully examining the person in front of them. His hair was a shade of Matt black, the face was a shade of light brown, none of the characteristics matching with the People of the domain. Clearly foreigner from here.

"This person doesn't look like a priest, what do you say Yothen?" says the Chief while unsheathing his long sword.

"Chief you must not kill him!!! See he's clearly emitting the light energy, he surely is one!" Yothen exclaimed very quickly, seeing his Chief drawing the sword.

"I've heard there are light mages in the empire who also utilizes the light element, what's the guarantee he is a priest, not a magician?" Chief questioned him.

"... But..still...we shouldn't…" unable to come up with a definite answer Yothen stuttered and tried to stop the Chieftain from committing foolishness.

"no chief, we shouldn't kill him"

"Killing him is equivalent to inviting a disaster onto our tribe"

"Yothen's right we shouldn't kill him"

The other three members supported Yothen as well while nodding their heads.

Abruptly a brilliant idea came to his mind and he spoke;

"Chief look his magic structure is broken so he's cripple now, if he's a High priest he could reconstruct his entire magic structure utilizing his faith mark, mages can't regenerate their magic structures when broken."

"I'll now go and inspect him, if I find a Faith mark we'll take him back to the tribe and heal him, if I don't find a faith mark we'll leave him alone, he wouldn't be able to live afterward anyways, no need to dirty our hands"

Although the idea seemed absurd because why would a High priest come here, but the next part got stuck into Chieftain's mind so well he didn't even consider a moment more and nodded in approval.

Seeing this everyone sighed with relief and Yothen stepped ahead and walked in front of the man taking a good look.

Before he could even begin the search his heart started pumping at a very high rate, when he saw a thin line of a tattoo on his left arm looking very similar to a snake's tail, rolling up the man's sleeves he took a full view of the tattoo. The tattoo depicted a white snake rounding around itself eating his own tail.

"Everyone hurry up, come here…look faith mark… hurry…" Yothen started calling them loudly.

"What the hell?!!?!" the Chief ran towards him in an instant and he too exclaimed.

He clutched his head with both hands because he was really glad he didn't kill him. His tribe would've been decimated and their souls being captured by the Golden Inquisition if the word ever would've gotten out.

He looked around and observed both the broken jar and the altar, being curious he naturally wondered what could've caused a High priest to lose his Magic structure.

Not wasting any more time Yothen quickly took out a cotton sheet-like fabric on the floor and together with another tribesman he picked up the man respectfully from the ground. And transferred him onto the fabric sheet with extra cautiousness and special care. They furled the fabric on his body slowly and picked him up on their shoulders.

The Chieftain quickly went ahead and picked up the fractured jar cautiously as to not damage it anymore. He would've taken the altar as well but the priority now was the injured priest.

He just hoped everything would be alright because if it doesn't then it's gonna be a disaster. Killing a High priest is a very good way of committing a catastrophe onto themselves.

Praying to the Shaman God of forests and tribes he leads them out of that cave with the torch in his hands and eventually escaped from that darn Wolf's den.

------------------------------------------------

159 miles away from the cave.

The next day.

A man wearing traditional tribal clothes could be seen, he was taking a break on a bright redwood log drinking water on from his Leather water pouch and munching a few pieces of boiled potato, that man resembled itself to be a lumberjack, on his right was a Steel Axe lying on the huge pile of newly cut felled trees.

Clearly unaware of a shadow sneaking onto him, he was observing the free-flowing river into the distance with amus.e.m.e.nt.

The man sighed loudly grabbing his shoulders and rubbing it clearly indicating fatigue from work.

"Ahhhh, how great would it be if I had the talent to become a warrior, then at least I wouldn't have to chop these trees"

Out of nowhere, a voice answered his question;

"Don't worry I'll make your body a Supreme warrior, now that I'm free"

Extremely flabbergasted he immediately tried turning his head around to take a look, but even before he could do anything he felt a loud thud in his mind and lost his consciousness.

'Secret arts - Flesh Assimilation'

A white prisming skeleton could be seen getting s.u.c.k.e.d into the man's body, the bones loosened itself and flowed like sublime solutions from the mouth.

The man's whole body was crackling, numerous voices of bones and tendons getting snapped could be heard. A minute later the man or more precisely his empty shell stood up and started performing basic exercises.

"Now that I'm free from that cursed book, I'll start my vengeance against you fakes!!!!" the man's eyes shone brightly as he looked at the azure sky and exclaimed loudly in rage.
