Empty Promises: The CEO Cunning Bride

Feng Huan didn't look up at her, instead, he rolled his arm to get rid of her hands.

"Hmm~, Zhao Fan, did your attempt to catch Lu Weisheng not work out?" Xiong Jingfei asked, adding fuel to the crazy fire that Zhao Fan was desperately trying to put out.

"It's none of your business!" Zhao Fan hissed, then she stopped for a second to think and her complex turned bright red. She pointed a trembling finger filled with anger at Xiong Jingfei. "You… It was you!"

Xiong Jingfei innocently shrugged her shoulders, "What are you accusing me of this time?"

"Liar! You know!" Zhao Fan shouted, causing everyone's attention to be on them. She would never forget the humiliation that was given to her by the Lu's brothers! "Huan, you have to believe what I'm going to tell you! She and Lu Weisheng were on this together. They were trying to break us apart for what we did to her in the past."

"Is he cheating on her with that woman?"

"Your father's company?" Feng Huan's interest was finally caught by Zhao Fan's unfinished sentence. Did Xiong Jingfei proceed with her next plan without letting him in?

"One thing at a time." Xiong Jingfei slightly tilted her head to the side with a smug smile. "Your father's company going bankrupt is not my fault. It was his own fault for trying to cheat Lu Xuefeng's money. Did you think he would allow his precious brother be with the daughter of a backstabber?"

"It's all a lie!" Zhao Fan denied. "My father will never do such a thing!"

"Is that the same statement you made when you went before Lu Xuefeng about your father?" Xiong Jingfei shook her head. Lu Xuefeng is someone who doesn't like to talk to those with no evidence to back up their claim, and Lu Weisheng wasn't going to go up against his brother for Zhao Fan.

"Zhao… Fan…!" Xiong Jingfei tried to ungrasp Zhao Fan's claw around her neck. "Crazy-!"

"Die!" Zhao Fan screamed. "Why don't you just disappear from my life!?"

"Stop!" Feng Huan forcefully pulled Zhao Fan off Xiong Jingfei. "Stop all of this already!"

Xiong Jingfei gasped for air while coughing violently. She could sense Zhao Fan's intent to have her dead, but luckily, Feng Huan managed to react in time.

Feng Huan didn't bother to check on Zhao Fan after she lost her balance and slammed into one of the tables. She was beyond livid at this point that he chose Xiong Jingfei over her! She had known him since they were kids! They were friends, family, and lovers at one point!

"Hah! I am crazy!" Zhao Fan screamed, hitting the table with her palms and on her nails were faint traces of blood. She was going to lose everything, but in the end, she realized the one person she didn't want to lose was Feng Huan. "Why do you love her and not me? If she disappeared, you would come back and love me! It's all because of her-!"

"That's not true." Feng Huan sounded exhausted. Everything Zhao Fan was doing and saying was like a repeat of that night when she secretly came to see him at that restaurant. "Fan, we were a mistake from the very beginning."

Zhao Fan shut her mouth and stopped her temper tantrum after hearing the cry in his voice. He was tired of her? No matter what she did or said in the past he will always take it in and forgive her. "Are you alright?" Feng Huan helped Xiong Jingfei stand up until he noticed her bloody fingertips. "You're bleeding!"
