LITTLE PARADISE

Three teens were sitting under the shade of a tree. One of them was munching on some dried meat, another was sitting cross-legged and with his eyes closed, the last one, a girl with brown skin, was just looking at the horizon with an absent-minded look on her face. The atmosphere was peaceful, the bird were chanting and a rainbow was drawn on the horizon.

Sadly, this beauty of nature was registered by none of them. Feng was eating smoked meat to calm his heart. Sol was meditating and it didn't seem he wanted to speak. Alex was simply replaying what happened on her mind.

Alex knew how naïve she was of the world. She grew up under her master's care for as long as she could remember. Her master treated her very well and taught her many things. It's just that she didn't really teach her anything other than all she would need for fighting. Thankfully she was at least taught the base on how to act in society by the personal maid of her master that she saw as a kind but strict grandmother. The many books she read also helped her. Sadly, there only so much one can learn when they never saw more than ten humans barely a week ago.

Even so, despite her lack of interaction with the world and other humans, she didn't think that it was possible for people to change so fast in personality.

The Sol she knew was someone humble and a bit pushover who didn't like to talk too much. He may be a little cold, but if you knew how to speak he would listen to you. Despite his power level, he didn't act as if he owned the world or anything like that. He even tried to teach her many things, even if she didn't really need it.

The Sol she saw there though was completely different. It's was like a second personality. It wasn't the first time she remarked this. The same happened on the first night when they rescued Fabrice team. It seemed like each time he was in certain situations he would change personality. He wouldn't simply become cold. He would become an emotionless machine. His aura would shift from his usual calm one to a desolate and overpowering might as if he was a god looking down on everything.

But what puzzled her wasn't just his mood swings. After all, they only knew each other for only a few days, it was normal to not know all the facets of his personality. The true question was the words said by that stupid guy from the Regulus family. What did he mean by cripple? How could someone as strong as Sol be a cripple? Also, even the identity of Sol seemed to be very high level.

She may not know much about the world, but her master had spoken about the different leaders of the nobles' families as well as some powerhouse from the recent generation like Helen Heracles much time. He really had an impressive pedigree. Even now, she could still remember the many nightmares she had when she read done some research on her and read about the kills counts of that woman.

She wanted to ask so many questions. Just as she was about to open her mouth, she felt the temperature rising swiftly. It's wasn't just the temperature, she feels a rising pressure like nothing she ever felt. It felt like she was a simple ant in front of it. She wasn't the only one. Even Feng reacted, he directly distanced himself from Sol and began to breathe roughly like a cornered mice in front of a cat.

She turned her face to look at the source and saw, with shock, that the wave of heat and pressure were coming from Sol.

His face was contorted by a deep frown and red marks began to form on his skin. The mark looked like an interlocked chain. Bead of sweat were forming on his forehead. He seemed to be struggling with something. The chain-like mark was taking more and more of his skin. But, as if they never existed in the first place, they faded into nothingness. At the same time, the heat began to cool down and his expression softened.

Alex was dumbstruck, what happened? Everything went away like a dream. How could it be possible? What kind of power did Sol possess? Even her master couldn't emanate such a monstrous pressure, at least she never felt something like that from her.

As the silence was stretching, she decided to see if he was awake.

"S... So.. Sol.. Are you okay?"

She stuttered!!! She wanted to die from shame. She held her mouth with an awkward look as she looked at Sol.

Sol on the other slowly opened his eyes and finally fixed his regard on her. He appeared to be confused.

"Sol, how are you? What happened? "

Clearly feeling that Alex wouldn't be able to perform, Feng decided to take her place and ask the questions. Sol slowly turned his head toward him. His eyes were vacant. It was like he wasn't even looking at him. Still, to his terror, Feng felt like he was being stared by a apex predator. He couldn't even move the slightest toe. Thankfully, this feeling didn't persist.

After a few agonizing seconds, Sol finally opened his mouth first and asked a simple question in his usual voice.

"How much time went from when we left?"

"Not much, just 20 or 24 minutes max," answered Alex after taking him a deep breath to calm her herself.

The silence came back. This time it was heavier. Sol looked at the two of them. It was clear that they wanted to ask thing. Sadly he still didn't trust them enough to give all his secrets. Only in situations of danger and need can we see the true face people around us. Thankfully, even though he couldn't give all the answers they sought, he still could still answer some of them.

As such he simply sighed and gave them the short version of his story. He talked about his life as a young genius, the fact that an accident that made him unable to train for 8 years happened, his family. When he finished the two were a little stunned. No..Sol could feel no surprise or other such emotions from him. It could only mean that Feng was just putting an act.

But how could this be possible? The news of his past wasn't something that could be shared easily. Only people with relatively high authorities could see obtain information on him. If Feng was able to obtain this info, that could only mean that he is from a relatively powerful family.

Alex's shock, on the other hand, was genuine. Her eyes were even building a little moisture on the side. Sol let a wry smile. He didn't think that he would make a girl cry by telling his story.

Alex sniffed a little as she asked him to continue. She wanted to know why he acted like that with Emilio.

Sol didn't answer immediately. He looked at the sky in thought, and simply answered

"I cannot give you the specific, but just know that me not training even two years after I was once again able to wasn't just because I didn't want to. I simply didn't dare to."

His eyes suddenly widened. He felt something gushing from his body. Followed by that, he heard the sound of chains wincing as if they were on the verge of breaking. With a solemn face, he said to no one in particular.

" It seems like what I feared happened"

After saying that, he sat back under the tree and without waiting for them to ask more, went back to his meditating position and closed his eyes. As soon as he did it, a deluge of information suddenly flooded his mind.
