Chapter 10 - First Day At Big Hit

First day at school is exciting. But first day at work...?

😅😶

Y/N's P.O.V-

'Miss Y/N,' My eyes fixed on the person to get a read of his body language as he continued his words, 'your portfolio says about a lot of qualifications, I can see why your recruitment was highly recommended to the authority. However, you seem too young and fresh. It's your very first job, am I right? Will you be able to carry out your duties properly?'

I slightly bowed then replied, 'Yes sir, I will give my best in the job and pretty soon learn everything off to get them in hand.'

'I love your confidence. Welcome to Big Hit. Please leave a sign on these papers.' Glimpsing over all the points written inside for a quick second, I steadily dotted down my signature over at the respective place. A silent sigh escaped my lips. Finally, I am in the zone...

'All done. We shall now go and introduce you to the boys. Shall we?' I nodded, following the person headed towards the exit.

'The meeting is over.'

> > > > > > < < < < < <

'Boys...'

His voice was bold, unlike before in the meeting, and kind of, commanding. The tired figures lying on the couch moved their heads up, immediately shooting themselves down and stood straight. An eyebrow of mine arched up itself by their sight while my body turned rigid with maintaining utmost caution.

We've met before, more than once. The last time we met, they were beautiful creatures and talented idols. But after then, when I get to meet them now, how different they appeared. Still angelic, still beautiful and admirable, but their face was dark, dark with secrets and cruelty. Beauty had a glow, talent had a tall height, but the immense darkness they accrued, they were nothing but just some small pieces of random structures before it. Their existence was a void. In my brain, they already appeared like those guinea pigs, who were given freedom for a short time until they are thrown back to the cage where they always belong, in their case, the cage, prison.

'How's your practice going?' He asked in a casual voice. I was snapped back to the real world. All bowed at him, 'It's going well PD nim. We are working hard.'

'Be more focused, your show schedules are not too far. We are rooting on you this time. Anyway,' he pointed at me while I stood beside him, 'Meet Y/N L/N. She will be your new assistant manager from now on.'

'Annyeong haseyo, it's so nice to meet you all.' I politely made a bow. Taking some seconds of silence, their gaze scrutinized me from tip to toe, using the eyes of an eagle. The gazes were welcoming, yes, yet, a gaze of wariness was what they more seemed like to be, I wondered why. It can't be possible for them to suspect me already. Maybe it's their profession that never leaves them without vigilance, even regarding every new thing or people they meet. I shifted uncomfortably tilting my head trying to avoid their eye contacts. As soon as my eyes fell on the mint-haired boy, I kind of, froze at place.

Min Yoongi.

His eyes, of all, were coldest and mean. The way they pierced through mine, it seemed like he could guess out everything. If a person's stare could reveal his identity, I would definitely seal, those eyes were the eyes of a criminal. They were able to sip out everyone's soul, leaving them motionless.

'Give an introduction of yourself.' PDnim said.

'Oh, no need,' I smiled, 'I know them all, I mean, who doesn't?' They all made a small grin but maintaining humbleness.

'We are grateful that you will be working for us.' Namjoon spoke with a protruded smile, 'We'll be in our best behavior and help you feel home.' I returned a smile at him. He was a good talker, no wonder.

'Where are V and Jimin?' All of them looked back at him for his question, taking a break off from their stern staring too. 'They went to the restroom to freshen up. There they come.' Namjoon pointed at the other direction, drawing everyone's attention towards the two figures proceeding near. 'Annyeong haseyo, PD nim.' both of them greeted him, engaging their eyes on me next moment. Momentarily, my eyes met Jimin first. His eyes uttered tiredness, and he seemed a little distracted somehow, not paying equal attention unlike others meeting a new figure like me.

'Taehyung, Jimin-ah, you missed,' I was getting introduced once again, 'This is y'all's new assistant manager, Y/-'

'Y/N?' Taehyung seized PD nim's sentence, leaving him and the rest in a bit of surprise. 'Oh, you know her already?' 'We met in the elevator when coming here.' I blinked in realization. Ah, so that hoodie guy was him. That's why he appeared so familiar...

'Aish, I didn't recognize you that time Taehyung-ssi. Sorry about that.' I apologized. 'No need. I didn't know you that time either.' His gaze was turning stern like all others to get a detail extracted from my appearance, but PD nim clapped his hands to put a full stop to all, 'So, the brief introduction is over, I guess you should go back to practice now. And Y/N,' he turned at me. I nodded, 'I will get on to my tasks starting from right away, sir.' With that, I smiled at him, leaving through the exit point.

Suga's P.O.V-

Aish... Every limb of my body hurt speaking out how tired they were. I lied down on the floor exhaling heavy breaths, trying to squeeze out the tiredness the much I could. Finally, the practice was over.

'Jungkook-ah, pass me the bottle.' Handing it over, the boy sat down beside me and sighed, 'Aah! I feel like passing out now. Our steps haven't reached a perfect shape yet. We can't afford to make any mistake on the stage.'

Hoseok settled himself down beside us, 'I am worried about Jimin a little. He is stressing out too much on his solo dance moves.' Beyond the side of their sitting self, there was the subject boy busy in practicing his dance, the maknae released a small breath again, 'I don't understand, why do we have to work so hard on this when we have our business running on somewhere else? We need to work on the music and dance, also conduct our tasks at the same time. I don't feel like doing this anymore.'

'We are bound to do this, Kookie. Our legs are just fettered.'

'Hey,' Namjoon shushed, 'Don't shout it all out. What if somebody hears you two?' 'We will shoot him down, what else?' said Taehyung in his frosty voice. His voice didn't speak humor, as if he was so determined that he would actually do that. 'As if it's that easy, Tae.' Namjoon glared, 'However since we are not assigned anymore to task after that, better focus more on this part.'

'The best silence is the silence before a storm, we all know that,' Jin scoffed. 'By the way, what do y'all think about our new manager noona?'

'Noona? She looked like a kid. What to think about her?' I rolled my eyes, 'She is here to work for us. She will do what she needs to do, so will we do our own business.' Namjoon added, 'She seemed a little stiff before us, will need time to get habituated around in here.'

'Wasn't she pretty though?' Hoseok asked in glee. 'Well, yeah.' Jin agreed, 'She can be called cute in terms of looks. But she looked so young, maybe of our age or less? PD nim must have his reasons to recruit her for the job.'

'Now now,' Namjoon chuckled, 'Don't start drooling over her already. She is here to work for us, we need to help her get easy around us just and help in case, nothing more than that.'

'Shouldn't have we left already?' I decided to interrupt, 'I am pretty tired. I want to go back dorm and get some sleep.' 'Gaja, but where's Jimin? Is he still now practicing? Yah Jimin-ah!' Namjoon yelled. Hearing the leader's voice, the boy turned back, sweats crawling down his face yet he wasn't willing to let go off his resolve. 'You guys go, I need to practice a bit more.'

'Aish, always so serious Jiminnie. Don't toil yourself too much, okay? Come back soon. Let's go.' We headed towards the exit.

The car soon left the building and hit the main street. Looking out at the shadowed trees, thoughts from before gathered in my mind, including earlier moments. That girl, Y/N. Even though she seemed so naive and simple, something's off about her- the only thought which was grazing in my brain. She's a new recruit, but the first time ever I got a feeling like this. The way she put up that rookie rigid expression, the blank look on her face, that kinda looked all made up. Her gaze seemed so cautious and observing, scanning everything bit by bit, not leaving anything even an inch. Isn't it a bit odd for someone who just joined her new work of a manager? I don't know, maybe my brain is overworking. However, it's never less good to keep an eye on people sometimes. Caution is always better than cure anyway.

She will have to remain under my CCTV eyes for sometimes, I guess.

Y/N's P.O.V-

A small yawn elicited from my lips, as I stretched myself back on the chair. Getting stuffed with works from the very first day was something of my least expectation, that I will probably have to get habituated to sooner or later. But finally, I could leave now.

Stepping out of my very own varnished new office, I was welcomed by an almost empty hallway. I looked at the watch. It was past the usual work hour. The staffs must have left already. A thought popped out in my mind- as no one's around here now, how about taking a look around the place?

With a calm yet sharp gaze, I ambled around taking my time to scan everything. Nothing unusual seemed to catch my glimpse. It was what an entertainment company should appear like. Wronging my assumption, a few staffs were still then present, sincere to their job, working hard to manage their assigned work with due care. Tiredness was translucent on their face, despite, their minds knew, the dough doesn't come without any doing. As their eyes fell on me, a small smile in greet stretched their lips, that I couldn't but reflect the same.

Pretty soon my pace stopped, reaching forth a certain place. Steadily I looked at the locked door. It was the manager's office. Of all the staffs in the company, it was only him who was in the list of suspects in the department, reference to some probable activities he had done before I think. Now, since no one was around, that lured me to take advantage of getting in and take a look around inside. So...let's go?

Skillfully picking the lock, I tiptoed myself in and turned on the lights. I looked around and looked into everything. Nothing worthy enough to feed my suspicion. But I wasn't eager to leave without giving a second checking.

As I let my fingers crawl beneath the office desk. I had expected everything to be the same, a plain wooden desk is what it should and was appearing like. However, I tapped and my fingers could sense something, that my brain interpreted and guessed a hollow space to be inside there, fulfilling my inner d.e.s.i.r.e. I crouched down to take a better look. An electrical lock peered out from the corner as I glanced around keenly. A completely unusual and hardly noticeable place to fix a lock, so it's obvious that something is in there. The department is sometimes never wrong at picking out its suspects.

I observed the lock for some seconds, my work was barricaded again. I was acquainted with its type. If I put in any wrong digit, it won't give off any loud alarm rather send the buzz to the owner's phone. So, I couldn't mess with it. Fixing a small camera at a corner's sharpest point and within eye level to stalk the lock will get the rest of the work done for me.

I stood up. My work here was done. Better get outta here now.

It had been some time since I started my patrolling again for the second time. I stopped before the white and wide practice room. The silence in there seemed like echoing in the space being deprived of the presence of humans in it. The practice was over quite some time ago, the boys had left already. As soon as I stepped in, the reflection over the huge mirror shone back brightly. I looked at me, the reflection appeared kinda different or so as per my mind. The room itself had an aura of itself since it's owned by them dancing, singing, practicing in here all the time. It urges you, entices you, works like a juggernaut to at least copy the same.

Cadences of their recent songs buzzed into my brain like an earworm. It was not too long ago I found them and listened to their melody while doing my research. My arms swiftly moved up to follow the choreography. I wasn't too good I will admit, I was horrible actually. But alone in here now I can say, I wasn't that bad at least to myself. The vibe from the atmosphere very soon captured my mind, and I felt like putting on some music to dance a bit too. There was no one around to see, to judge, to mock, so, what would get damaged if I, do whatever I like to? Nothing... Besides, I had my rights to have fun once in a while...

I connected my phone to the speaker and clicked on a random song from my playlist. The song had a good jam, and it was also one of those that I had a bit of knowledge regarding the choreography.

With it starting its beat, I moved my limbs, gently, in relish.

(Not kpop)

It felt great. The music felt like unending melodies approaching and soothing my ears, the urge to move along the beat felt refreshing and create an appetite for more, a hunger to move like never before. I wasn't a dancer, I never even gave a try to become one. But that time, that place, my mind was replaced by that of one who lives their life dancing like it depended on their moves, would fall and drift away if their body would step for a single second. The song was over, however, my mind wasn't satisfied yet. I wanted more, another song, another bunch of a few minutes to work my body. It ain't that bad. I bounced my way to the speaker to select another song the name of which was playing in my mind. Passing time had never felt so good, I agreed.

'You dance pretty well I see, Y/N ssi.' My fingers' motion stopped at its place as soon as a voice reached my ear. My jaw dropped. It was a voice, that voice, which I never ever expected to hear that moment.

Uh.

Oh.

'Whaa!!' I flinched backward, accidentally dropping my phone on the ground. 'J-Jimin...ssi!!!' My voice came out stuttering in an unaffordable way.

He was standing leaning against the entrance door with lights falling upon his surface as if to illuminate his presence under a spotlight, a pretty big arcane smirk dominated over his face, as he stated.

'Yup? Manager nim?'
