Y/N's P.O.V:-

Work at Big Hit was over. I was trudging steps out at the foyer when a tall guy stopped me.

'Y/N ssi?' I looked up at him as he said, 'I will be driving you to your home tonight. Please, this way.' Confusion played in me by his words. I stopped him before he was about to proceed, 'Wait. Who are you? I can go by myself.'

'I apologize, but I shall do as per I am said. Sir told me that it's risky to let you go home alone on your own.'

'Who is the sir?'

'Park Jimin ssi.' I c.o.c.ked my eyebrows at the utterance of the name, feeling a little irked by this hindrance of my own freedom. I didn't see the male the whole day. I wasn't going back home anyway, I needed to drop by at the base. Jimin didn't inform me about any bodyguard-c.u.m driver assigned who was gonna take me home earlier either. My mind with trust issues also didn't exactly want to believe this guy before me, the being-attacked session in the morning was a factor too. The guy looked familiar, maybe I saw him among the company staffs before. In any way, I didn't need him, or anyone. I could take care of myself, that a lot of people in the world were unaware of.

'Shall we proceed?' He patiently waited for me to follow. 'One sec, I need to make a call.' I pardoned myself to a distance then fished out my phone.

My third attempt failed in a row. Jimin didn't pick up my call. I cut the connection then saw the one message among the unnecessary pile of notifications clogged on my screen.

Jimin: I hired someone to drop you home. He will be waiting for you outside the exit. Go with him.

So he indeed did. So I reluctantly agreed, turning around the guy who was still waiting, 'Alright. Let's go then.'

The comfortable seat endeared itself to me as I lounged on it, the car soon started to move out to the street dimmed with Seoul city lights.

The traffic light was green. I stared at the blinking lights of cars through the glass in silence, until my phone rang from my bag. I saw the name. My face earned itself a serious mode.

'Hello.'

'Jackson.' I said, 'It's been a while. A long while.' The last time when we had met, the night of BTS's first kill in my case. I had asked him to research about Jungkook, after that he was gone, disappeared like camphor.

'Where have you been this whole time? I tried to call you but your phone was always out of reach.' I said. Now that he called after an era or two I wondered, what he might have found out.

'I know,' he mumbled, 'There were some issues. I have been busy. Sorry.'

'So...? Is there a piece of news?' I went straight to the main point.

'It took long. I did my research according to what you said, and-'

I shifted to sit straight.

'I found something that might interest you.'

'What is it?' I grew attentive and stern. Jackson didn't immediately reply, instead, he took his while before continuing, 'I found out about a place.'

'And?' I strained it so as to express my impatience, absolutely hating him for creating the so-called suspense.

'It's not a place you, I, any of us would go to...Do you know about...Cheongyangni 588?'

'It's a red-light district.' He added. I was aghast for a short time, was prepared for anything unexpected but nothing like this, 'I know. But isn't it closed since like...?'

'like 2013. But we are talking about the time of 2008 here.'

'Are you saying that Jungkook...'

'Not sure. But I got small info. To verify, we need to go there and check.' He articulated the 'we' with an emphasis. I tried to process the whole thing in my head, 'But the place doesn't exist anymore, right? Constructions are going on over there, how are we going to-'

Hearing a small beep, I moved the phone before my eyes to see what it was. Jimin was calling.

'The place is banned, true,' Jackson spoke from the other side, 'But a small part is still now alive in the neighborhood. It's possible that we can find someone who can get us to what we need, I mean, you need.'

'Right. I will go there and investigate.'

'You're not going alone,' He stated in a deep commanding voice, 'I will accompany you. There were rumors about abduction and human trafficking about the place, it may not be safe.'

'What can happen to me?' I playfully said, 'I will be fi-'

'No Y/N.' He said, 'I will come with you.'

I shrugged, 'Okay fine. Then when shall we go?'

'Whenever you are free-' Another beep resonated from my phone, I hurried, 'Jackson, I will call you back when I am home, okay? We will discuss this later.'

'Okay. Take care.' He cut the call and I picked up Jimin's.

'H-' He interrupted my words with his, 'Are you home safe?' Noises around him told that he was probably in the practice room at the moment. There was hurrying feature in his voice.

'I am not home yet.'

'Is he driving well?'

'Better than you, at least,' I leaned back on the seat, 'You didn't have to get a person to drop me home.'

'I had to. Having our manager killed would leave us to a whirl-winded schedule, we can't endure the loss. You need to remain alive.'

'So much of a point.' His light words got a small grin on my face, I pursed lips to check its commencement.

'Inform after you get home or I will call-' I was holding the phone with my right, my left ear experienced a small 'ping' sound from its side. Followed next, in the shortest moment, the window glass blared with loud cracking sounds. My hand holding the phone shook almost dropping it from the grip. A gush of hot air exploded in the air-conditioned innard, splinters flew everywhere pervading on the seat. I ducked my head. My eyes caught a few slivers passing by them safe by an inch while I barely avoided contact with some that left small cuts on my nose and cheeks. The window next to the driver broke exploded too, within a femtosecond next. He was unprepared, a shriek of shock escaped his lungs and he pressed down the brake upon reflex causing the car to take a small whirl on the lane and wobble on balance.

I got over the sudden event soonest and quickly looked out through the broken window. Shards of glass were still hanging from the bottom two edges poked my fingers, I shortly yelped. A motorcycle fled taking a turn from the wrong side of the road. They must have been the one. Two police cars were gently strolling down from the opposite side of the street. I understood the reason why the bike went away without further action.

The guy stopped the car at the roadside and looked back with signs of worries. 'Are you okay, Y/N ssi?' He asked. The cut on his face and reddening shoulder said he was the most injured of us two.

I nodded at him and quick-scanned scrupulously around the inside. I immediately spotted the thing near the right side car door on the black matted surface. I picked it up.

'Y/N? Y/N!' Small sounds came from my phone so I realized Jimin was still on the call.

'Y/N?!' 'Yes.' I replied. He calmed his shouting voice at it, 'What was that? I heard an exploding sound. Was it an accident?'

'Nothing like that.' I held the small round structure within my two fingers, 'Someone shot rubber bullets at the window glass.' I added, 'Your driver needs first aid. I will take him to the hospital.'

'Did you see who it was?' His voice was deep cold, there been an audio knife in vocal cords. I said, 'No, I didn't. They escaped.'

'Stay where you are. I am coming.'

'No need. I can take care of it.'

'I am coming Y/N-'

'I said it's fine. You don't have to come. I will cut off now.' I cut the call and looked at the guy. 'Please seat in the back. I will drive.'

Things turned out to be much more convoluted than I thought they would be.

Now that I think, they must have been that guy Che Geun-Hye's people.
