12 Mirror

The fight was over, and the finale left everyone puzzled. Some were sure that the more experienced Rolf would win, while others hoped that newcomer Zayne would get lucky, but no one had expected such an ending.

"Hey... Is he sure he's a rookie? I don't mean to sound cowardly, but his look at the end was definitely scarier than the Black Wolf they're talking about." The guy said with a slight nod of his head.

"I agree, damn, who is this guy? I'd like to know more about him, he must be very strong!" The girl exclaimed in excitement with a cheerful smile.

"Hmm? Do you think someone like him cares about you? Hah, how naive." The man standing next to her grinned as he crossed his arms over his chest, "Obviously he's just the kind of person who tries to resolve things peacefully at first, but he can actually handle it with brute force, like now."

Although both fighters disappeared, this in no way prevented the audience from getting down to their favorite thing, discussing the past duel. However, for some, this result was unacceptable, especially for one man.

"This is nonsense! This can't be happening! That guy must have used some dirty trick to win!" Feto exclaimed angrily heading toward Aron, "Elder! I demand that you call off the results of this fight!"

Aron remained silent until he said in a deep voice, "That's out of the question. Zayne was the one who won a fair victory. He may have been a bit ferocious at the end, but obviously, that's what it takes for an untrained man to kill a Black Wolf."

"Aron bloody hell! Zayne, that cheeky little fellow can't win!" Aron shouted with a furious look waving his arms, "Otherwise I..."

Crackle.

Suddenly a massive fist slammed into Feto's face causing his jaw to shift right as well as a few golden teeth to fly out. There was only one blow, but it was enough to send Feto flying backward a few meters, hitting the ground with his back. Feto with wide eyes immediately looked at Aron, but the elder did not take a single step forward as the attacker was the village's best doctor.

"Feto, how dare you treat the Elder so disrespectfully! I have told you many times that being overweight is bad for your health, but I could not have guessed that fat has already covered your brain! Give the people their money back, then get out of here! There's nothing more to do here, the fight is over!" Harald shouted with a strong look staring Feto down from above.

Feto didn't know what to say as he held his hand to his cheek trying to take the pain away until he slammed his fist on the ground, "Shit! Okay, I'll do as you say."

"That's better." Harald nodded with a satisfactory smile before bending down and picking up the gold teeth from the ground, "Come see me tomorrow I'll put them back in, or if you have any money left you can have new ones made. It's your choice."

Their brief conflict stunned the Players for a while as they didn't expect anyone other than the Elder to disrespect Feto, but the villagers had other emotions since a slight smile appeared on their faces.

Clap.

Aron clapped his palms together drawing everyone's attention to himself, "Harald is right. We'll know Fate's word when Zayne returns, for now, go back to your homes, it is the deep night after all."

...

While many events were taking place in the two worlds, one man with an exhausted look came out of the capsule. Zayne wasn't physically tired, he was quite resilient, it wasn't mental fatigue, but he was having a hard time accepting what had just happened.

"Shit... I did it again..." Zayn uttered holding his hands to the sink in the shower. He looked in the mirror and saw a simple guy, but in his mind went through his fight where he was beating Rolf. What scared Zayne the most was that this was what he wanted to do and that he was enjoying it.

"Fuck!" Zayne slammed his fist into the mirror shattering part of it into massive shards while many cracks ran down the remaining side.

"Agh... Agh... Agh..." Zayne breathed heavily, trying to calm down as his heart beat fast, "I must learn to control myself, or else trouble might happen again. Mia is already paying the price for me not holding back once..."

With these words, Zayne fell to the cold floor as if unable to stand on his feet any longer. He stared at his reflection in the shards of the mirror for a long time before he finally gathered his hands into fists.

'Well, I don't know what happens next, but right now I have to try and make the most of Fallen Fate Online, but before I do... I have to go visit Mia, hopefully, she'll be awake today.' Zayne muttered inwardly before leaving the house.

It was early morning now as everyone was just heading to work and important places like hospitals had just opened. Zayne had a few days off, so now he could pay as much attention to the game as possible without the distraction of work.

Thirty minutes later Zayne was already in front of Mia's room door, opening it.

"Hmm? Zayne?" Rubia's voice echoed as she was in the room, checking on Mia's condition.

"Hello, long time no see, has it?" Zayne smiled, waving his hand slowly.

Rubia didn't answer anything, she just with a frown walked over to Zayne and stared at him.

'Hm? What's going on? Did I piss her off with something...?' Zayne was puzzled as he didn't understand what was going on.

"Why haven't you written me your ID yet?" Rubia raised her head practically colliding with Zayne's foreheads as he had to step back.

"Agh... So that's what you meant. Sorry, I just didn't get around to it. I was getting to know the game and completely forgot about it, it's a first for me with an experience like this, you know I've never even played a computer game let alone VR." Zayne shrugged as he turned his head slightly.

Rubia remained frowning then her face instantly changed as she said with a wide smile, "Okay, I understand, just next time you play doesn't forget to do that."

Rubia spoke calmly with narrowed eyes, but the cold glint from her eyes made Zayne wary.

'Damn, I'd better actually do it. The last thing I want to do is piss her off.' Zayne shuddered as a chill ran down his back.

"Speaking of which, while we're on the subject, I wanted to watch one video with you." Rubia said pulling her phone out of her pocket.

"Hmm? What video?" Zayne tilted his head in confusion.

"I don't know I haven't watched it myself yet, but at the moment it's the most talked about video in the news about Fallen Fate Online! Just imagine, it's already racked up over 10 million views in a few hours! Alright, let's not waste any time!" Rubia quickly found the video that was headlining most news sites, sat down next to Zayne, and clicked on the screen.

It started out trivial as the two young men prepared for a fight, filmed from below, so at first, their faces were not visible, but after a few minutes, Zayne's face went pale as well as Rubia's because millions of people watched him smash his bloody fists into Rolf's face with a furious expression.
