Zayne had limited time, but so did Enar. Even though he was an Apostle, his energy was not infinite. He activated the seal and gained great power, but like Zayne it was not forever. Their situations were quite similar in some ways.

Enar and Zayne stared at each other, then they simultaneously lunged forward. Zayne drew his sword from the wall and immediately turned around, facing Enar, who brought his two blades down on Zayne.

Clang.

Along with the sparks flew flecks of blue flame, which, like tiny crystals, left cuts on Zayne's face, then they collided again.

Zayne and Enar tried to overwhelm each other, putting more and more power into their attacks and gradually getting faster. Each time, Zayne was slightly wounded, but the scratches on his body quickly healed like a beast, and the ice on his claws shattered on the next encounter.

'Shit! I'm losing! Even with everything I have, I can't fight on par with Apostle! I have to get even faster!' Zayne inwardly exclaimed and gripped his sword tightly.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Zayne brought his sword down with all his might on Enar, who defended himself with his blades. The shock wave passed through his entire body with a slight tremor, but his hands did not tremble.

"Great strength and speed. You're much stronger than this Knight now, but you're still too inexperienced." Enar grinned wickedly, taking a step forward and slamming his forehead into Zayne's head with all his might.

'What...?' Zayne was shocked for a moment. The sharp pain seemed to cut him off and before he could recover, Enar's palm collapsed on his chest.

The fiery explosion tossed Zayne aside, causing him to hit his back against the stone wall and vomit out a clot of blood.

"Okay, I enjoyed those brief moments. I'm actually sorry you're so young, you would have had a great future if you hadn't come here." Enar said seriously, glanced at his wounds, and thrust his blades into the ground.

Enar directed mana toward the blades, making them glow brightly and launching forward two streams of blue flame that froze everything in their path.

Zayne sat on the ground watching the fire coming toward him.

'Agh... I'm tired... My body is much stronger, but I just don't have time to think things through... He literally predicts all my actions...' Zayne internally muttered, looking at his sword in the reflection of which he saw himself and his long fangs, 'Wait... That time, I was not so focused on the battle, though I did not control myself and acted on instinct, it worked, right?'

At the same moment, Zayne closed his eyes and took a deep breath, filling his lungs with cold air.

In a short period of time, the place had changed from a lava source to an ice cave, and a change of the same magnitude had occurred to Zayne.

Whoooooooooosh.

Despite the two streams of flame Zayne rushed forward and, as if thinking nothing of it, went through the fire. His entire body was covered in a thick layer of ice, practically turning him into a statue, but as his red eye glowed, all the ice shattered into tiny shards.

'Agh... Did he get faster? No, bolder! But, how?' Enar was puzzled, however, he had no time to think since Zayne was already right before him.

"Raaarr!" Zayne growled like a beast and grabbed Enar by the arm.

"Idiot!" Enar exclaimed, quickly changing his grip on the dagger and thrusting it into Zayne's shoulder, quickly freezing it.

However, Zayne didn't seem to notice this at all, he only frowned and opened his mouth wide, sinking his long fangs into Enar's neck, the next moment.

"Fuck! Motherfucker! Have you lost your mind?!" Enar shouted as his face twisted in pain, then he punched Zayne in the jaw, but even that didn't help as Zayne's grip was tight.

Enar's eyes went wide, and his whole body went up in flames, causing an explosion that finally tossed Zayne aside.

"Damn... I figured it out too late... You decided to bet everything on your reflexes, right? Well, that's smart, the beast is most dangerous when it's cornered." Enar ran his palm across his neck, freezing his wound.

"Agh... Agh... Agh..." Zayne answered nothing, he just breathed deeply, while streams of steam emanated from his hot body.

Whooooooooooooosh.

Without delay, they clashed again, and their bodies turned into flashes that occasionally approached each other.

"What's going on...?" Rea, who had just woken up muttered as she watched them fight.

"It's Zayne... He's fighting with Apostle..." Elin said with a shiver, "Don't ask me how it came to this... But, they're actually on par now..."

Rea gulped. She watched their fight as if mesmerized, watching as Zayne attacked and as Enar's flames froze everything around him.

Gradually, tears poured from Rea's eyes, and with each attack, Zayne made, more of them.

'No way... Did I just get lost...?' Rea muttered inwardly with trembling eyes, 'Teamwork...? Everyone performing their tasks...? What's the point...? If everything is decided by pure power again?! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!' Rea shouted to herself, unwilling to accept that her father's words were true.

Booooooooom.

A blue explosion tossed the two silhouettes aside as they simultaneously rose to their feet. However, this time they didn't rush into battle again, their strength was already running out.

"I don't know if you can hear me, but I think it's time to end it. Show me what you can do! Make sure I never forget our fight! I will remember you as a worthy opponent!" Enar exclaimed, and the sign on his neck flashed brightly.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Behind Enar's appeared a powerful stream of flame as he crossed his blades in preparation for the final attack.

Zayne nodded slightly and used the only thing he had. The mana turned into two massive scarlet wings, but for some reason, they descended on him. The wings covered Zayne like a stream of blood that flowed down endlessly.

"Hah, what a fitting skill. It's a real treat to be your opponent, Traveler!" Enar said in excitement before rushing forward.

The massive stream of flame behind him covered everything in a thick layer of ice.

"Azure Cross..." Enar whispered with a deep sigh.

The ground beneath Zayne cracked as he lunged forward in a red flash that instantly appeared in front of Enar like a ghost from the underworld.

Enar's blades flashed brightly, as well as his eyes, which then went wide for a moment.

"Roooooaaaaaaarrrrr!!!" Zayne roared like a wild beast, shaking the entire cave with his howl and bringing fear down on everyone who heard it.

At the same moment, the red and the blue flashes collided on the obsidian lake, creating a shockwave. Cold wind currents tossed the small rocks aside, Rea and Elin had to cover themselves with their hands.

Crackle.

A torrent of dark blood gushed outward, running down the crimson blade while two blue blades slowly fell.

"How unexpected... So this is my end..." Enar muttered while blood flowed from the corners of his mouth. He looked at Zayne and reached out a hand, touching his face, "Agh... You are still trembling with fear, though you have already won. Fate... Chaos... No... I wish in my next life I could be a follower of your fear..."

Enar closed his eyes as his body erupted in blue flames, disappearing into tiny particles that rushed upward.

Zayne dropped to his knees with a devastated look that gradually came back to normal as well as his appearance.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

The bottom of the hourglass cracked, releasing all the blood, which like a scarlet waterfall fell on Zayne, completely covering him.
