Farsian: The King Of Vampires

Chapter 53 - The Throne

Farsian remembered the feeling, it was the feeling that he first got when he was drinking the blood of a powerful mage. It was a feeling of power, something very exciting that made him giddy. But then something else happened, someone pushed open the curtains to his tent. Walking inside with a smile on her face was Angelica who he hadn't meet in quite some time now.

"Angelica? What are you doing here? I thought you would still be at the academy." Farsian said as he watched her enter his tent.

"Hello Farsian. Long time no see, how have you been all this time?" Angelica said as she approached him.

Farsian was slightly wary of her, after all they were no longer direct family. He could feel that there was no longer any connection between the two and instead they now shared something else with each other. They were both of the same kind!

Although Farsian wasn't sure what exactly they were now since they had lost their place in the hierarchy of the vampires, he was sure that he was more powerful than he would have been without the strange potion.

"I have been in good health lately. I can see that you have enjoyed similar benefits as myself." Farsian said and slowly got up. He was wondering if he was still of a lower level than she was or if they were now of equal standing.

"Yes. Do you want to know why I am here?" Angelica asked with a smile that was as enchanting as the stars.

"Yes, please enlighten me." Farsian answered with a nod, he could feel himself being influenced by her somehow. Though he wasn't sure how she did it, he felt that it wasn't all that bad and maybe he should stop resisting and embrace her instead.

"I told my brother about my current situation as I was scared after loosing the link to our race. Though I was much stronger than before, there was no one that would be punished if they attacked or killed me. I was alone and scared and he knew that. He quickly informed father about it and they made plans for my future. When they learned that I wasn't the only one and that you were in a similar situation as myself they decided that it would be best if we became one.

Farsian, will you marry me?"

Farsian nearly fell to the floor the moment Angelica had asked him if he wanted to marry her, but the enchantment of her still held strong. He carefully considered it and found that nothing really spoke against it and that he couldn't bring himself to reject her. As he was about to answer Angelica spoke again.

"I know that you have acquired quite a bit of fortune from that lich and that you have a small army at your side, after all I sneaked past these fools. But know that marrying me will not be without benefits, you probably don't know but I am from an old and powerful family of vampires. We are the family of Bloodborne and one of the founding fathers of the vampire covenant. As such my father has given me some gifts for you that would be very beneficial. I bring with me 100 of my elite guards, an enchanted throne and a nearly limitless amount of gold. I am sure that this would erase your doubt." As Angelica finished talking she looked eyes with Farsian to see how he would react to her enticing offer. But somehow she wasn't able to discern what he was thinking about, it was as if his face was a blank slate that had nothing written on it.

Farsian had blacked out the moment she started counting the benefits that he could enjoy. Although he wasn't really sure what was expected of him he was sure that it couldn't be that hard.

Thus he decided to marry Angelica, at least he would if he could. Right now he was still in a sort of mind down and couldn't move.

Angelica saw that he was still silently contemplating her offer and became anxious, but didn't know what to do now that things had progressed this far. Previously she could talk to Farsian like he was her little brother, he would obey her every command and would always be loyal to her. Now however he was like a predator, ready to devour everything and everyone that managed to enrage him.

Farsian awakened from his stupor and looked straight at Angelica.

"Are you sure about this? I may be of the same kind as you but that doesn't mean we will pursue the same goals. I may someday end up antagonizing the whole world. If it comes to that you will be affected as well. Know that I cannot be tamed by you or your family and will do what I believe is right." With that he mentally prepared himself for loosing all these tasty benefits. But he had to tell her or she may betray him at a crucial point in time.

"Yes Farsian, I am certain. This has all been carefully planned by my family and my brother personally went over every possibility and made sure that we could cope with everything that could happen. Trust me Farsian, we are more than prepared to take on the whole world if necessary." A small fire was burning in her eyes as she envisioned the whole world burning at her feet and she and Farsian would be king and queen of the ashes.

In a far away location on top of a tall tower part of an ancient vampire school, there were 5 people sitting around a table. At the end of the table there was an ornate chair that was adorned with gold and obsidian, at its back there was a coat of arms that symbolized one of the most powerful families in this school.

"Father, do you really think we made the right choice? After this there will be no turning back." A young man who sat next to the end of the table said with concern in his voice.

"Arnold, what have I taught you?" The elderly man at the end of the table said with a firm voice that could shake mountains with ease.

"To always strike decisive and fast!" The young man answered with a firm believe in his voice and expression, it was as if his earlier indecisiveness had been washed away by his believe in his father.

"Ara, Ara~. Aren't we forgetting something?" A beautiful woman who sat at the opposite end of the table said gently, her eyes fixed on a person cowering in the corner of the room.

"Yes, please forgive me my darling. It was rude of us not to pay attention to our guest." The elderly man at the end of the table said and pointed his finger towards the man cowering in the shadows.

"Wha-. Nooo!" The man screamed as he noticed that his cover had been blown. He wore the uniform of the shadow stalkers, one of the prestigious groups at the school. They would often take on missions directly from the council and were usually referred to as the right hand of the law. They upheld order at the school and always try to foil any evil plans that the various families at the school would plot to reach for power. Today however it looked like they would fail with their mission.

They didn't plan for the Bloodborne family to rebel and turn traitor!
