Fatal Attraction: The CEO & His Mischievous Wife

Chapter 195 - Oh I'm Serious

Xi Long expected the reaction before him and welcomed the shock. If Zhuang Wei had reacted in a pleasant way and accepted it readily, then he could only believe that his friend was replaced by a doppelgänger.

"Yes now, let's get everything settled tonight. I'm serious about it."

He responded in a light tone and headed towards his bed to sit down. Enjoying the soft material beneath him, he looked up at Zhuang Wei who was now standing in front of him. Their positions were reversed and in another situation he could even enjoy the comedic factor of this. Alas, this time he didn't notice the reversal and just calmly focused on the man in front of him and his responses.

"You.....you're really that upset? I have no problem going back to our old method but this is what you came up with after all day? When you first called and told me you were going to talk tonight I ȧssumed it was just a talk. I didn't expect that you would just directly skip all that and jump to us fighting each other." Zhuang Wei held a bit of a reluctant expression on his face as he spoke. For him, this was a method they used a lot growing up but slowly faded out on using. It was partially training for them and a way to 'duke' out any disagreements they had. So he wasn't against it but felt uncomfortable that a woman was the reason for them to do it again.

The corner of his lips twitched, "yeah I want to talk....after we get our energy out."

A quick smack landed on his arm when his smile was exposed. "You think this is funny?!"

"No...only a little."

When Zhuang Wei lifted up his hand to give another smack, Xi Long laughed and held up his hands in defence.

"Okay wait wait, listen I have the intention of talking but lets do it after the fight. It doubles as training and we haven't done it in a long time. It'll be good for us in general so we don't get rusty. Adding on, every time we talked have we come to an agreement? No, you're stuck on your side and I'm firm on mine. So once we get the energy out and ego out between us, we can talk calmly and logically. This disagreement isn't something small and I'm not sleeping tonight without resolving it. We can't have something like this happen again regardless of who the target is. So get ready and I'll meet you outside, save the further blows for then too."

With that as his final words, he got up from the bed and left Zhuang Wei behind. He didn't wait for any other response and just directly exited the room, there really wasn't much else for them to discuss. If he stayed there, maybe they would go back and forth for a couple of minutes. All of which would be a waste of time since he was determined to fight tonight.

Walking at a brisk pace, he headed towards the kitchen to grab some water and a granola bar. It would take Wei another ten minutes to head outside so he had a little bit of time to feed himself. Thankfully the workers were still in the kitchen and everything was handed to him quickly.

Ripping open the plastic wrapper, he pushed the bar into his mouth and quickly bit down. The taste of granola and chocolate sated his emerging hunger and gave a burst of energy. He really wanted to have a sit down meal but knew it would make him throw up if he did. Fighting just after eating was a mess waiting to happen.

Savouring the granola bar, he alternated between eating and drinking a sip of water. Taking it in steadily he finished both within a couple of minutes. Letting his body digest the two, he grabbed a water bottle from the workers and headed outside. The gym was built outside in Wei's backyard, there was some machines but in a separate room there was a boxing ring.

The moon was high in the sky and provided enough light for him to walk over. Looking around casually he verified the guards were in place before walking over. It was habit to make sure that the guards were there and they were people he recognized. When Wei and him fought like this, there would bȧrėly be any energy left in them after they were done. Which was also a great time to attack them since they were vulnerable and could bȧrėly fight back.

The guards had to be in place to give him a peace of mind when fighting. They also had never told anyone about these 'sessions' of theirs so no one could use it to their advantage. Only Wei's grandparents had a faint idea when they came back with bruises as children. However, that could be excused as friendly fighting between children.

Unlocking the gym without the password, he entered and switched on all the lights. There were individual lights for each part of the gym and one main one for every room. It was hidden in the wall and was easier than switching on each light as he goes. The lights flickered for a second before coming on.

Switching the water bottle to his left hand, he closed the door behind him with his right. Hearing the click, he went straight towards the boxing room. Since he used the main switch, the boxing room was lit up by the time he entered. Since they had cleaners, the room was still clean or else they would be facing dust every where. Cleaning this and then fighting would be another ordeal he had no energy for right now.

Sighing, he placed the bottle on one of the shelves and grabbed some hand wraps. There were four pairs, one for each of them and two as backups. He wrapped his hands on auto pilot and secured both of them quickly. The rough texture of the cloth rubbed against his skin and reminded him of all his previous battles using them. He debated on placing boxing gloves on top of it but thought it would be better to stick to wraps alone. They protected his knuckles and fingers while keeping his wrist stable.

Flexing his fingers, he checked to see if they were comfortable and confirmed they were good enough. Just as he was about to start warming up he heard the door open behind him.

"Ready?"
