Fate Cultivation

"By the power of my command seal, I order you three, to retreat back to the sky and don't interfere. I have work to do".

With a flash of red, Merlin, Enkidu and Scathach all retreated back into the sky. There bodies heavily resisting the power of the command seal.

"Master! Don't to this! This is an abusive of your power! Think of what your mother hand father would-".

"Shut up!".

The raw power coming from Shen Wenyan's body caused the ground to shake and the air to shift.

"You don't know what it was like! To hold their dying bodies in your arms! I was 7 years old!".

Everybody cringed at Shen Wenyan's statement. They had realized why he had acted so violently when Lin Yulong mentioned his parents. Every dragon had a reverse scale. And it seemed like his was his parents.

"You don't know! Two of you were forced to leave the Earth! The other was killed by the God who created him!", Shen Wenyan's eyes started to water uncontrollably, which pulled at the heartstrings of many in the audience.

He stood directly in front of the little girl who was staring in directly into Shen Wenyan's crimson eyes with a scared expression.

"How old are you?".

The little girl squirmed under his gaze but replied, "9".

Shen Wenyan appeared conflicted. "Should I take away everything from this little girl... and make her walk the path I did?".

Shaking his head, Shen Wenyan said to the little girl, "If I kill your elder brother... will you hate me?".

"Yes! My big brother hasn't done anything wrong!", she said resolutely.

"Did you remember what he said? He called me a liar and slandered my family, what do you say to this?.

The little girl was innocent and saw the world in black and white. She didn't know what her brother had done and only saw Shen Wenyan as the bad guy.

"It doesn't matter! My big brother has done-".

"Your mother doesn't love you. And your father hates you. What do you think about that?".

The audience was shocked at Shen Wenyan's blatant bullying. The little girls older sisters wanted to say something but Enkidu watched them like a hawk. His golden eyes radiating power.

"That's not true! Mother and Father both love me! You're lying!".

"But isn't what you're brother just said about my parents? Was he lying as well?".

The little girl didn't say anything else. She wasn't sure who to believe.

"Don't believe him Little Xia! He's lying to you!".

Lin Zi, the 4th daughter of the Lin Family shouted causing Shen Wenyan to direct his focus onto her.

"Then answer me. Why should I not exterminate your entire family? You are all 'beasts' that don't care for your common man. What happened to moral's and ethics? What happened to the collective human unconscious? What happened to basic human decency? Answer me!".

The girl, Lin Zi didn't know how to retort this. Morality wasn't a term that was used by many. Human decency had never existed in the dog eat dog world. But the collective human unconscious? What as he talking about?

She clenched her fist and shouted, "None of that matters! I won't listen to your silver tongue! The only thing that matters... is strength!". Her words sounded righteous and just, however her masked sister next to her shook her head and stood up.

"Little girl, shut up! You have no idea-".

Shen Wenyan interrupted her, "Strength eh?", he smiled before vanishing a reappearing behind Lin Yulong his hand around his neck, "So since I have the I have the ability I am correct? If I have power I am just? If I have strength I am right? Is that what your saying?"

With his hand firmly clasped around his neck, Shen Wenyan lifted up Lin Yulong, why was trying to pry Shen Wenyan's clawed fingers off his neck.

"Am I right? Little girl?".

Lin Zi looked down in shame not daring to meet Shen Wenyan's gaze. She looked at her 2nd Sister who shot her a evil look.

"Sir Shen. What my sister said is just her opinion on her matter. She doesn't represent the entire Profound Lin Family".

"And you do?", Shen Wenyan retorted.

The masked woman stood directly in front of the stage and floated up. Her beautiful hair flowing free as the wind picked up.

"I do not, however I don't imagine anyone complaining if I do".

Shen Wenyan raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Alright then. Why should I not kill you and everyone else you bears the Lin name? From the things that I've heard, the Profound Lin Family is corrupt and abuses it's power to do whatever they want. Just like that little girl over there said".

The eldest Lin Family daughter glared at Lin Zi for a moment before looking back at Shen Wenyan, "You cannot define the entire Lin Family by the actions of one stupid boy and baseless rumors. Much how I will reserve my judgement of you until I learn more about you".

How voice sounded sweet and tempting. And Merlin was drooling, imagining what a beauty must lay behind that silver mask.

Shen Wenyan closed his eyes for a minute before looking at his Servants in the air.

"Come join us. You're all older than anyone here and have lots of experience. Don't worry I won't kill anyone... yet". Shen Wenyan chopped the back of Lin Yulong's neck causing his body to go limp. He gave his unconscious body to Enkidu, who wrapped him up in the Chains of Heaven.

"If anyone else wants to join us please do so. But be aware... you may save a man's life or end a Family's legacy depending on your answers".

No-one in the audience got up. They were entranced by the aura Shen Wenyan and his Servant's gave off. Just a few minutes ago he killed several dozen armed guards and now wanted to debate on good and evil?

Just what type of man was he?

"If you don't mind... I'll take you up on your offer".

Another beautiful woman entered the stage. She had a m.a.t.u.r.e and curvy body which attracted the eyes of all the men in the plaza. Her black hair reached all the way past her ample b.u.t.t. She had a small smile on her face which entranced everyone who looked at her. She wore a black dress with a crescent moon on the back.

"Lunar Crown Sect!".

The 2nd daughter of the Lin Family saw the woman and smiled underneath her mask, "So the Lunar Crown Sect's Elder Ling, makes an appearance. To what do we owe the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e?".

Elder Lin who had exited her room and made her way onto the stage didn't answer her question. She only looked at Shen Wenyan and asked, "Do you remember me?".

Shen Wenyan looked at her and shook his head, "I can say with a hundred percent certainty that we've never met before. I wouldn't forget someone as beautiful as you".

Elder Ling's smile faltered and she unconsciously moved her hand to her stomach, "So you really don't remember...".

She lifted her left hand and the ring on it glittered for a moment before several chairs and a circular table appeared. A variety of drinks and half a dozen glasses appeared as well.

"Please. Although I have no good will for the 5th Young Master of the Lin Family, I can't help but wonder how you'll get him back, Lin Yueyang".

"Don't worry about me, Ling Feng. You should take better care of yourself". The former retorted while taking a sip of tea. To Shen Wenyan and the Servants, it appeared as though the two knew each other, and despite their tone, had quite a close relationship.

Lin Yueyang put down her glass and her gaze swept everyone at the table, "I think we should begin with names. My name is Lin Yueyang and I am the 2nd child of the Patriarch of the Lin Family. I like legends from history and my little sisters. I dislike perverts and people who don't appreciate things that are not earned".

Her eyes flickered over Lin Yulong before looking to Ling Feng.

"I am the Lunar Crown Sect, 2nd Elder, Ling Feng. I like the cold and... a certain somebody. My dislikes are winter mornings and men who abandon women". She looked over at Shen Wenyan to go next, but kept her gaze on him for a little longer than what she should of.

The mentioned only placed his right ankle over his left knee and rested his head on is hand, "Shen Wenyan. Likes nothing in particular and hates ignorant fools who say things when they have no idea what they're talking about... and Zelretch".

This causes the three Servants to sigh. They had such a tsundere for a Master, not they would ever admit it.

Enkidu politely smiled and went next, "I am Enkidu. I do not like loose women or those who disrespect nature. I like nature, my King and my Master".

"Is your King and Master the same person?", asked Lin Yueyang.

Enkidu shook his head, "My King was my first friend. The man who validated my existence. My Master is the man I serve today. He is a man looking to escape the fate that is his immortality, he is-".

"Lancer!", warned Shen Wenyan.

The green-haired Servant smiled and stopped. He knew that he had said to much.

"I'll go next!", Merlin who removed his hood stood up and proudly exclaimed, "I am Merlin! I love my Master, humanities potential, and most importantly women! I don't hate anything except for clingy women!". The Caster Servant gave a graceful bow and smiled at Lin Yueyang and Ling Feng.

They were a little disgusted by his introduction but didn't say anything, they only turned to the last person at the table who had crossed her legs and and closed her eyes.

"Scathach. I don't like living and I don't hate anything in particular. I like my Master...". The Queen of the Land of Shadows blushed a little before looking back at the other two women with threatening eyes, in particular Ling Feng.

Lin Yueyang smiled and looked at everyone, "Now that we've introduced ourselves, I suggest we-".

"If I said all those things about your mother and father, would you have a d.e.s.i.r.e to kill me?"

Shen Wenyan interrupted Lin Yueyang. She appeared a little embarrassed but collected herself and said, "Yes, but that-".

"So why shouldn't I kill him? I wouldn't lose any sleep over-".

"But would the amount of p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e gained by killing him be greater than-".

"I'm not going to argue utilitarianism and deontology with you. I want to kill him and there is nothing-".

"Stop interrupting me!", she shouted. Her beautiful voice was fl.u.s.tered. She had just being silenced every time she tried to speak so was greatly annoyed by the fact.

"Master. You agreed to this. Play nice", said Enkidu. His voice amused by his Master's antics.

Shen Wenyan sighed before leaning back into his chair. He gestured for Lin Yueyang to speak.

"As I was saying. Aren't you worried about your judgement after death? With so much bad karma acc.u.mulated your next life will be one destined to be a bad one". Her concerns made the audience whisper greatly. Many believed that after death one was wiped clean and then placed into the body of another living being. Only cultivators, those who went against the Heavens could overcome this cycle.

"What about your brother? If you believe in reincarnation, surely you've heard of Buddha?".

She nodded. 'Some more similarities', thought Shen Wenyan.

"Killing is evil, lying is evil, slandering is evil, abuse is evil, gossip is evil: envy is evil, hatred is evil, to cling to false doctrine is evil; all these things are evil. If you are so worried about getting a good karma and pleasing everyone in this life, do you know what will happen?

You'll be the most favorite dead person in town".

His words destroyed Lin Yueyang's argument completely. She was confident in her ability to sway her opponent but didn't realize he wasn't just strong but confident and unyielding.

"And your brother? Lying is evil, slandering is evil, abuse is evil, gossip is evil: envy is evil. Are you not worried of his karma? Or did you forget about that?". Lin Yueyang didn't dare meet Shen Wenyan's gaze.

"Master. Wouldn't your parents be disappointed if they saw you now?".

Shen Wenyan turned and faced Enkidu who had merely sipped on his glass of wine.

"If you kill and exterminate an entire family in their name. Would that make them happy?".

Enkidu put his glass down and smiled at his Master. He knew that Shen Wenyan couldn't respond.

"What about Zelretch? Your foster father-".

"He betrayed me! He betrayed the plan!". Shouted Shen Wenyan.

"So? That only showed he'd rather have his son live than die. I don't see any betrayal in that, do you Scathach?".

The red-eyed Lancer opened her eyes and her gaze didn't move from Ling Feng, "I don't believe it was a betrayal. Your relationship had spanned 300 years. It might seem that way to you Wenyan but I truly believe that the old man would rather face a True Ancestor than kill you".

Shen Wenyan clenched his cup, causing cracks to appear on the side. He didn't want to believe his Servants words but...

"And besides, I want to ask you something, Ling Feng was it?".

The Elder straightened her back and removed his gaze from Shen Wenyan, her eyes flickering back to him every now and then.

"I've noticed that you've been staring at my Master for the entirety of the conversation. Why?". The Queen of Shadows felt something in her heart shift when she saw the look that woman was giving her Master.

She had never felt this way before, even when other Servants flirted or messed around with her Master. She felt threatened, but she didn't know why.

Ling Feng didn't expect the woman, Scathach to ask her this question but she took a deep breath and asked,

"Can I see your real face? The face of my child's father?".
