Fate Cultivation

Chapter 2 - Beginning of Fate

Heavenly Swallow Continent. Profound Knight Country. Swallowing Mountain Range.

Heavenly Swallow Continent. One of the nine continents that span Green Mist Realm. Rated the 8th weakest continent due to the below average spiritual energy. The quality and quantity of cultivation within this continent is below the norm and reflects in it's standing with the other nine.

It contains Four Sects and Four Families which are constant odds with each other. The Sects which allows outsiders to enter and study their skills and techniques and the Families who despite believing that outsiders should not be allowed in, possess a fierce infighting and internal conflict.

Profound Knight Country. A branch Family which pays tribute to one of the Four Families each year in exchange for protection and resources.

Swallowing Mountain Range. A dangerous part of the Heavenly Swallow Continent that even the most skilled of cultivators usually avoid. This is due to the large beast aggregation within the mountain range and the appearance of a Martial Earth level beast.

A young man no older than 15 awakens his head swirling with information previously unknown to him.

"Cultivation? Immortality? Divinity? Wha- Where the hell am I?", the young man says to himself. The sudden influx of memories and experiences that he never previously had causes him to throw up all over the grass beneath him.

Memories of a childhood friend... being taken away from her... forcing a marriage... running away... becoming cold... so cold.

"My name... is that same! My name is Shen Wenyan!". The young man has a moment of clarity before holding his head in pain.

"Who am I... Am I this cold, man with an icy personality... or the Shen Wenyan from Earth... the container of-".

Another sharp pain rang through his head. This time the image of a sealed gate lay in his mind. The chains holding it appear familiar before Shen Wenyan says, "The Chains of Heaven!".

A familiar face appears within his mind. It's green hair and golden eyes. His kindness. It all comes flowing back to him now.

"I remember Enkidu... I remember the Holy Grail Wars! I remember...!".

That old man with the red eyes. Who was always grinning and screwing people over. The one who sent me... here...

"Zelretch! You bastard! Where the hell did you send me!". The screams of a young man echoed throughout the mountain range, causing danger beasts to be attracted to the sound.

Shen Wenyan stood up with a frown on his face and kicked a small tree nearby causing its leaves to fall to the ground.

He gazed upwards and saw that the sun had just risen over the horizon and the 4 moons orbiting Green Mist Realm were still visible.

He clenched his hand tightly, "I can't believe it... even though he said he wouldn't...". Sighing he released his hand and slapped his cheeks lightly.

"For now I need to find out where I am. This is a very dangerous place to-".

"Awoooo!".

Shen Wenyan's eye twitched, 'Curse my E Rank Luck'.

Turning around he saw several wolves each a big as a small car surround him, snarling with their teeth bared.

'Shit', thought Shen Wenyan. He counted at least a dozen wolves and with every moment passing they gradually grew closer and closer. He slowed his breath and imagined the sound of a spear creating a sonic boom before whispering "Connecting to the Throne of Heroes".

The air suddenly shifted and the wolves backed up several steps. They kept snarling but was far more restrained then it was previously.

Shen Wenyan felt the flow of his od quicken as it connected to an imaginary organ beside his heart. Even after 300 years of doing so he couldn't get used to this feeling.

As he looked over at the wolves his eyes shifted from their normal black color to a crimson red and he said, "Connection to the Throne of Heroes established, Root Directory found, Search _ Lancer _"

His hair changed from it's black state to a deep purple and his actions became graceful, elegant... and dangerous.

"_ Lancer _ found, True Name: Scathach"

Two crimson spears appeared in Shen Wenyan's hands emanating a strong blood l.u.s.t. The barbed point leaves behind a trail of red everywhere it passes through. Both spears seem to magnify the others aura which is only increased by Shen Wenyan's smile.

"_ Noble _ Phantasm _ found, Gae Bolg Alternative, "

He took a step forward which angered the wolves causing them to howl and snarl at him, ignoring the smell of blood coming from the spears. Shen Wenyan kept on walking until one of the bigger wolves mustered it's courage and leaped at him, it's mouth wide open and it's claws unfurled.

Shen Wenyan only grinned. He dodged the attack with a spin and sliced the neck of the wolf in a single action. The wolf's body fell and hit the ground, a pool of blood quickly formed around the wound.

His eyes swept over the rest of the wolves and said, "Whose next".

As the battle continued a group of women watched Shen Wenyan and his fight with the wolves from afar. They were all wearing the same white clothing and each of them had a beauty that could cause the downfall of a nation. The only one who was wearing something different was the blue-robed beauty at the front. Although her face was covered and only her eyes were visible, there was a certain m.a.t.u.r.e charm that she just couldn't hide.

"Senior Sister Lien! Look! Look! Do you see that mortal over there! He can kill danger beasts in the Foundation Stage despite being a mortal isn't that incredible!", one of the girls, the shortest and youngest looking one in fact was looking over at Shen Wenyan with awe and respect.

The one she called Senior Sister Lien only raised an eyebrow as she observed him. "I will admit he is good, for a mortal". Her melodious voice rang out that would've caused any nearby man to shake at the knees.

"Yeah! Yeah! Hang on? Weren't the elders looking for a boy for "that"? Would he fit the bill?". Asked the short girl. Her question caused the rest of the group to straighten their backs and look at the short girl with a confused look.

"Junior Sister Lin, don't mention things that others don't know", lectured the Senior Sister Lien. The other girls of the group looked over at her expectantly which caused her stern persona to loosen a bit.

"Please Senior Sister, tell us, we won't tell anyone else".

"Yeah! How could we betray you Senior Sister, you know us!".

"That's right! Senior Sister is the best Senior Sister in the whole world, we would never break a promise".

Each of the girls spoke with such a charm and seductiveness that would cause Immortal Kings and Divine Gods to tremble, let alone a whole group of them.

The one called Senior Sister Lien only sighed before saying, "Okay on one condition".

"Anything", the responded in unison.

"You can't tell anyone else in the Sect, don't mention it to anyone except for each other. Are we clear!". She said with a pointed finger.

"We promise!". Each of the girls giggled while expectantly waiting for the secret.

She continued, "The Elders and Sect Mistress are discussing whether or not to make the Sect... co-ed".

Each of the girls eyes widened and their jaws dropped.

"The actual fact of the matter is that the elders want to have families and that those families should have a right to live and stay within the Sect, just like the Holy Sword Sect or the Swallowing Sun Moon Sect. The Sect Mistress doesn't agree with them and set a condition that each elder must agree on if they want to have family".

Each one of them had a veritable bomb dropped on their heads, until the youngest girl pouted and said, "Mou Senior Sister! You left out the most important detail!".

The masked girls eye twitched before saying, "I was getting to that. The condition that Sect Mistress set was... that all elders must agree to share the same man".

"NO!"

"WHAT!"

"THAT'S INSANE!".

Senior Sister Lien covered her ears as her Junior Sisters shouted at screamed at her statement.

"Listen!", she said coldly, shutting the group up, "The Sect Mistress did this for a very specific reason! You are all aware than in the other Sects the families that possess power within them cause a lot of infighting and disarray. So in order to destroy any chance of severing the Sect into different factions one man would be chosen in so that every family created in the Sect would be related by blood.

"Blood is thicker than water. We all know this and the Sect Mistress knows it as well. Heavenly Swallow Continent is the 8th strongest continent in Green Mist Realm. We can't compare to the other Continents, let alone the other Factions within the Heavenly Swallow Continent. If we create several branch families with ties stronger than other Factions, the future of the Lunar Crown Sect would be all but guaranteed. Do you understand me?".

All the girls nodded, some of them begrudgingly at least until one of them asked, "Senior Sister... aren't you in line to become an Elder soon? Would you...".

"I agree with my mother's decision". Senior Sister Lien immediately responded.

The other girls wryly smiled. They all knew that their Senior Sister was adopted by the Sect Mistress and raised within the Sect from a newborn, but they didn't believe she would accept to easily.

"Hey! Hey! Look! The mortal has angered a Foundation Level 5 Shadow Wolf. At this rate he'll die!". The short girl shouted yet again drawing their attention to Shen Wenyan.

A massive wolf the size of a tank lumbered over the dead body's of its descendants. It's eyes a raging red from seeing all of its family killed.

"I know you can understand me. And you should know that your brethren didn't have to attack me. I was simply defending myself". Shen Wenyan pointed the barbed spear at the massive wolf who in turn snarled ferociously before vanishing like a gust of wind.

Shen Wenyan narrowed his brows before turning around and crossing his twin spears like an X in order to block the attack from the giant wolf. Shen Wenyan tried to back away from the wolf but could not block its claws and was slashed on the left arm.

The massive wolf almost haughtily growled at Shen Wenyan while l.i.c.k.i.n.g his blood of its claws. Its eyes widened as it could feel traces of divinity within the blood causing it to eye Shen Wenyan's body like a treasure.

Shen Wenyan noticed the change in the wolf's posture as it predated around him instead of savagely attacking instead. He did not know that his blood contained traces of divinity but he wouldn't miss the chance

Changing stances he rushed up to the massive Shadow Wolf and thrust his twin spears out towards it. The Shadow Wolf jumped backwards to try and escape the sudden strike but the twin spears extended and pinned the massive beast mid-air.

As the Shadow Wolf tried to escape its body stiffened and it's paws twitched.

It eyed Shen Wenyan who now had another spear in his hand in a javelin like position.

Here I go

Stab and penetrate... thrust and drill!

His red eyes flashed and the words entered the girls behind him who had stopped once again in awe.

[Gae Bolg Alternative]

The crimson spear flew out from Shen Wenyan's hand and pierced the Shadow Wolfs heart directly. The wolf made no movement as the life disappeared from its eyes, leaving behind an unwillingness and sense of regret.

The crimson spears dissipated into motes of light before one spear reappeared in Shen Wenyan's hand.

Turning around he coldly gazed at the group behind him. Although he sensed no enmity or hatred in their eyes, his newfound memories could not help but make him ask.

"I ask of you... are you my enemy?".
