Chapter 6 - Second Servant

After Lin Yulong left all the members of the Lunar Crown Sect gathered around Shen Wenyan berating him.

"Are you stupid?".

"Why did you do that?".

"You should've let Lancer do it for you, that way might have a chance-".

"Shut up".

They all turned to face the voice who said that.

Enkidu, whose blue eyes had turned a dangerous golden eyed all the girls with a dangerous glint in his eyes. It was clear to them they had crossed a line.

"You know nothing of my Master's powers. In fact I recall all of you losing to him as well, hmm? Despite what you refer to my Master as 'mortal', he is just as strong as anyone in this room", Enkidu said while staring at Senior Nuo. His normally serene face scrunched up into one of disgust.

"And you", Enkidu flexed his hand and several chains came flowing out binding Nuo Yang. "I should kill you where you stand. There are only 3 things in this world that I hate and disrespecting my Master is one of them".

Senior Nuo sweat dropped, 'These chains! They're sapping my power'.

"You're lucky Gil wasn't here because if he was you're entire family-".

"Lancer! That's enough!".

Returning their gaze to Shen Wenyan his blonde hair and red eyes carried a look of arrogance and vanity. His look softened when he saw Enkidu but narrowed when looking at the Chains of Heaven.

"Release him, he's not worthy of touching those chains", he said.

"Yes Master".

With a delightful smile on his face Enkidu retracted the Chains of Heaven back into the golden portals before walking back over to stand next to Shen Wenyan.

The latter looked at the girls from the Lunar Crown Sect before coldly snorting, "After the duel tomorrow, we'll part ways. I have no interest being with a bunch of cowards".

The words caused the group to flinch. Even Little Lin looked down at the floor unable to meet the red eyes of Shen Wenyan.

"Big Brother I-".

Ignoring the little girl he walked past the group with Enkidu quickly following him. While Shen Wenyan had a cold countenance set upon his face, Enkidu had nothing but happy smiles as his golden eyes turned back.

"It was nice meeting you all! I hope we all meet again", was the last words Enkidu said before exiting the City Lord's residence.

Although they were far away they could still hear Shen Wenyan's voice carried through the wind, "Unlikely".

They all just stood their before Senior Nuo interrupted their trains of thought, "Would you all like to return to the Lunar Crown Sect? I will bring the airship out now".

They all nodded. They thought bring Shen Wenyan back to the Sect would be a fun experience. It's not everyday a good-looking boy visits the Sect. Although they had ulterior motives they genuinely thought they had created a friendship with the boy.

With a sigh Shen Lien said, "It's time to go back to the Sect. We'll tell the elders and Sect Mistress what happened today and maybe we can help him tomorrow".

This caused the rest of the group to brighten if only a little. If they left now and arrived by nightfall they could be back in Spring Water City before midday tomorrow. By doing that they could help Shen Wenyan in the aftermath of the battle, no matter the outcome.

"Great idea Big Sister! Maybe Big Brother will feel grateful to us and come back!". Said Lin Xifeng. Her child-like innocence made all the other girls smile a little more.

After Senior Nuo Yang retrieved his airship and the girls boarded it and set sail, two figures could be seen watching it rise up into the air and with a massive burst of speed fly away in a Northerly direction.

"So this really isn't Earth anymore? Is it, Master?".

"No it's not. That bastard Zelretch sent us somewhere, where Gaia and Alaya's influence doesn't reach. That way they can't send their True Ancestors or Counter Force after us. Damn old man, being considerate even after betraying me...".

Enkidu could do nothing but smile as he heard his Master speak. His Master would never admit but he liked the old man more than he cared to speak about it. He was about to say something but Shen Wenyan interrupted.

"I think I'm going to summon another Servant or four. Preferably a Servant with Presence Concealment or Independent Manifestation. One that can stay within the City with us, watching our backs and the others can find out more about this world... what do you think Enkidu?".

Enkidu brought his hand to his chin and thought for a moment, "I was just about to suggest that Master. Since there is no force counteracting any mage craft then you should theoretically be able to support numerous Servants while still keeping a large amount of mana in reserve. The only question is who?".

"A have one Servant in mind however I haven't decided on the others... we'll commence the summoning tonight. I'll have to trouble you with defending me while I perform it".

The green haired Servant only smiled and nodded before the both of them vanished like ghosts.

A man nearby completely covered in black retreated back into the shadows before running silently across the rooftops.

'Young master will want to here about this. I'm sure he'll definitely-ugh!".

A sudden sword erupted from the ground piercing the man. Blood crept out from the corners of his mouth as he was pierced by another.

"Wha-?".

[Age of Babylon]

Was the last words he heard before a cold darkness fell over him. His body absorbed by the earth leaving behind only a small sapling sprouting out of the ground.

A cold harrumph was said before a green haired shadow left.

'That'll teach them'.

As Enkidu left the scene to run after his Master, Shen Wenyan looked for an abandoned house on the outskirts of town. If one saw him, or was even lucky to see him the would notice his skin had turned a dark black and his right hand was now significantly larger and covered in a black bandage.

"Connection. Lost", Shen Wenyan's body dissipated in motes of light leaving behind his original black hair and eyes, white skin and right arm.

Looking around once more for anybody he lifted up his right arm again and whispered, "

דחיית ישויות פיזיות (Rejection of physical entities)".

From outside the abandoned house six markings in the position of a six-pointed star lit up forming an intangible barrier around the house. If anyone who possessed a physical body were to come near the house, they would feel a strong repulsion and forget they saw the house.

"This is a pretty strong bounded field Master. Who taught you it?", Enkidu appeared in the corner of the room still dressed in nothing but his white robe.

"Grand Cas- Former Grand Caster", he replied.

Even this surprised Enkidu. A Grand Servant was a Servant far superior to other Servants of the same class. A Servant with the title 'Grand' symbolized that they had reached their pinnacle of the Throne of Heroes. They were the best and strongest of Heroic Spirits.

"Solomon? Are you planning on summoning him?", asked Enkidu.

Having the King of Magic on their side would be greatly useful to them. Not just the shear power that comes from controlling the 72 demon gods under his command but also his wide range of magic and spells that he could perform. Even someone like Gilgamesh who possessed all the treasures of the world would find it hard to defeat 72 demons gods at once.

Shaking his head Shen Wenyan said, "No. Although he is an excellent magus and an even better adviser I need someone who can 'look towards the future'. Solomon is good but he places too much 'importance on the past'. We cannot look to the past now. We can have no regrets... this is the only path".

A white haired, silver eyed a**hole standing a top a hill of swords flashed through his mind.

"Although I have a few qualms about his personality his skill in mage craft is equal to Solomon's. You should know who I'm talking about".

Enkidu closed his eyes in thought for a moment before going wide-eyed and asking, "You're not talking about that pervert are you?".

Shen Wenyan wryly smiled, "He is the Grand Caster that replaced Solomon. His myth is legendary and his skill speaks for itself. The only problem is... is that we need someone to... chain him down so to speak".

"You're really testing this Master-Servant relationship you know?". Said Enkidu.

"I've never considered myself a Master, you know that".

The former smiled and said, "That's why everyone treats you like one. You've earned the respect of all members of the Throne. You're goal is also admirable. Eternal youth was at your fingertips and you gave it up for-".

With a sigh Shen Wenyan interrupted, "I know. But I really wish I didn't have it. The Third was never my goal. The First was always was I d.e.s.i.r.ed. But that damn old man made me take it anyway. Stupid bloodsucker...".

Enkidu watched as his master kick a wall childishly while saying 'bloodsucker' and mentally said, 'My, what a troublesome master I have...'.

"Anyway, it's almost 2:00 am. Despite this being a new world most things are the same. You should ready the summon".

With a resolute nod, Shen Wenyan triggered to od with a imaginary sonic boom and the air in the house shifted.

The amount of od in Shen Wenyan's body increased as his 137 magic circuits flickered on, making green fluorescent lines to appear on his skin. Although the amount of magic circuits Shen Wenyan possessed was astounding, and one of the main reasons he could support Servants without a Grail in his previous world, the quality of those circuits were sub-par and could only supply 29 units of magical energy each.

To the average mage this may seem like an incredible amount, however to the lineages of mages with more than 10 successors this was rather pitiful. He had already turned 37 of his 137 magic circuits in a Family Crest containing several random spells from a variety of different Heroic Spirits.

His foundations a a magus were weak. Despite being over 300 years old his attainments in mage craft were even less than a certain 'faker'.

"Are you ready Master?".

Giving Lancer a slight nod he activated his unique chant.

"Connecting to the Throne of Heroes..."

The image of electricity coursing through copper wiring ran through his head.

"Connection established, Root Directory found, Search _ Caster _".

Hundreds of faces appeared in his mind. Medea; Princess of Colchis, Aviceborn; Solomon ibn Gabirol, William Shakespeare; The Bard of Avon. Some were familiar, others not, but all were Heroic Spirits, their immortalized legend contained within the Throne.

" _ Caster _ found, True Name Merlin".

A white haired young man covered in a white shirt and robe giving a playful smile came into Shen Wenyan's mind. His staff both a Mystic Code and a Noble Phantasm, the crystallization of his legend contained within.

"Action _ request summon _, Action received".

"Initiate summon... Start!".

A bright light filled the room and a figure appeared. All the dust and rubble in the room disintegrated and a hooded man kneeled in front of Shen Wenyan.

"I am the Magus of Flowers... but you can call me Merlin, alright Yan'er?".
