After fiddling and understanding the new abilities I gained I asked some questions about stuff about her ability to become a Mystic Code and such while Yamada was listening on the side I noticed that we already have talked a bit too much and with Yamada's tired and sleepy look we decided to talk about stuff in a later time.

"William let's call it a day Sensei(Yamada) looked kind of sleepy now~ Sapphire will wake up tomorrow night so let's talk about your Mystic Code in a later date and you need to choose the class card to inheritance with before you go to sleep~." – Ruby

"Yes~ Yes~ I'm going to sleep now~ tete~ (wait, wait) since when did you start calling Yamada as teacher!?" - William

"Since I learned he has superior knowledge than me you idiot~(A/N: See chapter 7) Go to sleep now I need to recharge my prana now due to maintaining the Bounded Field and being an anchor to that vampire you know~. Hurry and do it before the Bounded Field expires~." – Ruby

Hitting me in the head with her body Ruby grumbled before turning into particles and flowed to my right arm. Somehow it felt itchy when she was going inside, I let it slide and think of it as a necessary thing.

"Now then what to choose…" After picking the class card I laid on the soft bed that was in the other end of the room. Picking it up and put the rest of the cards in my item box I placed it in my c.h.e.s.t while holding it with my right hand and recited the aria that is recorded in my [Inheritance] skill.

"I call! I reach! I beg!"

"I use this medium to call the one bound by its karma!"

"Ye who's true name ###### I beseech!"

"To earn the right through trials and your wish!"

"All the culmination of your knowledge, skill and fate!"

"Let the Scales of Fate decide upon my qualification!"

"The trial by fire for the [Inheritance] shall begin!"

Then darkness engulfed my senses.

King's study

After eating his supper, the King arrived at his study followed by Leticia. After the knight stationed by the door closed it the King approached his table and touched a mechanism below it thereby erecting a barrier that enveloped the room. After making sure that there were no prying eyes the King spoked to the air.

"Report" – Regis

"Ha!" – ???

In the corner of the room besides the bookshelf a shadow raised and formed into a foggy silhouette that took a kneeling position. After the azure eyes looked at the princess he faced the king and spoke with a voice muffled by something unknown, the shadow's neutral voice echoed in the room that already has a bleak atmosphere.

"The heroes had already tuck into their bed chambers and as protocol written since the fourth generation heroes time, sentries are stationed a building away while substituting the loopholes inside with wards and magic traps. There were minor mana spikes in some of the rooms suspected that the heroes are practicing their unlocked gifts. We can speculate what type of gifts are there except for a room where a hero was wise enough to erect a barrier." – ???

Hearing what the shadow reported the King arranged the knowledge he gained and after a few minutes told the shadow in his usual regal tone.

"Casualty Report"

"The gatekeeper captains of the north, west, and east Gates of the capital was found mutilated in their respective office while some of the soldiers stationed there are either poisoned, killed or induced to sleep with magic. The barrier maintaining mages where found either dead or seriously injured with their mana s.u.c.k.e.d dry while the capital's city core was tampered, reports said assailants were wielding daggers with anti-mana properties. The first responding squads from the Knight Orders of Raging Winds and Stalwart Earth led by the Crown Prince and the Second Prince respectively was blocked by the rampaging beasts from the Common District. While the royal mage's head apprentice that traitor is still missing while killing his pursuers. Lastly the Hidden Order lost some people with crucial intel alongside 12 agents that were killed in action. – ???

Hearing what his loyal retainer and old friend said the King rubbed his temple and ordered to send amnesties to the family of the fallen and tighten the security more. Noticing that the shadow is hesitating what to say next the king ordered him to continue.

"The Grand Commander… The Duke of Barbed Iron had an assassination attempt." – ???

"What!?" – Regis

With the sudden outburst of the king the princess was startled a bit but looked worried at the same time and looked at the shadow to wait for the continuation of his report.

"… the Grand Commander successfully killed the assailant. Based on autopsy report the body had traces of dark magic and slavery magic, the assailant also has used the style of combat originated from the Valkyries from the temple of Death. The commander also lost his right arm and requested for the [Silver Arm of the Godking] that was in the royal treasury." – ???

"*sigh* So those priests from that temple has lost another kid to the darkness ehhh. Give him that arm he always wanted that since the old days." – Regis

Chuckling while remembering the old times the King focused back to the shadow and waited for the next report.

"One of the agents planted in another kingdom reported that another Hero Summoning was successful." – ???

"*groan*'These will be another long night…'" – Regis
