Chapter 31: A saint's intuition is pretty scary~

I remember my childhood as clear as the night sky. I lived near the temple of death at that time due to my father working as a priest there. My mother a famous adventurer took care of me and retired while training me. I learned through the teachings of my father about respect in life and to the time a being dies while I learned from mother how to stalk my prey and identifying weaknesses through sheer observation.

Other than those moments I had a very enjoyable childhood with friendly neighbors and friends with a loving family. When I reached a.d.u.l.thood which is 12 years old I am obligated to do a coming of age ceremony to be considered an a.d.u.l.t.

There are different 'main idea' in every trial in what we are wishing to focus, it is always needed to know what you want to do when you reach the age of 6 and train in preparation for the task you are prepared. I always wanted to be an adventurer similar to my mother so I took the trial of hunting a monster in the outskirts of the big forest in the west.

I did not know if it's because of compassion by taking care of its young child which I brought home or because in pity of its pain I quickly killed it and turned it into ashes but when I touched the God Crystal enshrined at our city but I got the Saintess(Death) as a job. Saintess or Saints are people who can use an 'authority' based on their affinity no matter how faithful they are to that deity but they must have a very positive inclination and the affection of that God to be bestowed such calling.

Overjoyed my father and his best friend Uncle Drakel sent a letter to the main temple and I was sent there for education. Saddened I cried in my mother's bossom, she knew what my dream is so she is also sad with my situation. Without a choice I was sent to learn in the main temple. Time quickly flown and I was already 14 years old, I kept sending in letters to my parents and at the same time I made new friends. I was also assigned as a team leader of the Order of Weavers, even though I was not an orphaned child I was sent to the order as per my request and in the opinion I would quickly go stronger for the Order tends to be near to the presence of 'Death'.

I already befriended the girls under me and I already started treating them as my own sisters in every assignment we were sent. Most of the traitors and heretics still mainly use the divine energy they have even if it's already beyond recognition so I who has a more superior type of 'authority' can easily take them down alongside my sisters. In our world there is a profession commonly known as necromancers that works in the temple of death but it can be categorized in two types.

The 'bad' necromancers who raises corpses and inserts deteriorating or false souls into them that is considered heretical and the 'good' necromancers skilled in exorcising powerful evil spirits and knowledgeable in understanding of the body to the point they can understand the 'messages' left behind by the corpses making them excellent investigators of crime scenes.

I had a really great life in those 14 years of mine… but as everything good something evil sometimes rises up. It was at that time I had an assignment in our city where a recently corpse raiser as what the 'bad' necromancers commonly called was hiding there. Excited I planned to introduce my sisters to my parents so we rushed there and I saw a tragedy…

Returning home I was greeted with my father in the floor in a statis spell. Following a bloody trail along with my sisters I was greeted with my mother fighting Uncle Drakel who with his erratic and twisted divine energy is controlling corpses… I alongside my sisters tried to help but it backfired on us when he suddenly ordered me and my body suddenly obeyed, forcing me to suddenly be turned into a hostage. Complacent he told my mother who was holding my knife from trying to stab my neck to let him escape unless she wants me to die, it seems the order will not be even be revoked even if we kill him and even if it's not true I can clearly see from my mother's and the girls look that they can't risk it.

Swaggering off he left us with that maniacal laugh of his. Shocked at the upcoming revelation, I later learned that Uncle Drakel was actually my target and he was just recently discovered of being a heretic but before his capture he tricked my father to sign a soul bounded contract by making him drunk. My mother who just returned at that time noticed the parchment left in the table quickly read it and noticed the anomaly at the clauses and quickly tried to stab Uncle Drakel with a dagger she always carries.

Wounded he forcefully used my father as a hostage similar to mine and escaped. Father who quickly sobered up activated a statis spell inscribed in his medallion and the rest is history. Drakel left behind a warning to my mother that one of us must go to him and serve him or the command will not vanish. My father wounded and have no standing in the temple will surely send hunters, but if its me…

I swore an oath later on to my mother of whomever break the contract I will serve them because the temple will surely not accept heretics back. My sisters also followed me even if I tried to stop them and they swore a similar oath. A year quickly passed by being forced to do countless atrocities making me sick. I always tried to not use my sisters as tools and fight in the forefront by using his 'dolls' as meat shields making me have a zero casualties if we ignore the corpses he always raises.

The next thing I know is that we followed him to kill various important figures alongside the recently summoned heroes to 'convert' them into dolls in his crazy words. We quickly infiltrated and replaced the sentries and blocked the escape routes. Laila who disguised using a noble lady was inside observing everything. It was funny how she is using a cover up with a similar name but I noticed she conversed with a Hero.

We already noticed the incarnations he uses but I really am impressed of his cautiousness. Later on Drakel appeared and made that stupid speech of his but in the near end I felt it. My spine shivered in fear when I felt it.

When I finally got my blessing as a Saint I felt this similar yet different aura. It was stronger and more… sharp than any I felt before… it litteraly felt like an angel of death brought down to earth. I saw 'it' walk solemnly in the hall, how Drakel mistaken it as someone who brings great news and how it acted and berated him. I saw him easily burn the dolls and sensed their souls returning to being pure and sent somewhere. Without a choice, when I heard the scream from that foul mouth of his we and my sisters tried to assassinate it.

« "Hmph! COME OUT!!" » His voice echoed out and my body without any reason released our stealth and forcefully kneeled. In that short encounter I felt it… this being is way stronger than us. I also felt more familiar with his aura and noticed an anomaly. He felt like 'Death' but his aura did not have that familiar stench nor his body is likely raised by something evil it just felt like… a will! Yes, a will so strong it forcefully contained his body without breaking down.

I heard his following commands and words. It was laughable how he noticed the contract but the thing that shocked me the most is how he by-passed the contract and forcefully command us to retreat. Outside we did not know what happened next but we knew Drakel is surely dead. We heard the toiling of bells and rejoiced at our founded freedom but we still feel the effect of the contract. Later on Laila told us that the Hero he conversed with knew someone that can break the contract. Shocked at the impossibility we thought maybe another Hero have gotten such unique gift from the gods similar to how he is loved by the gods from our temple.

In the next day we sneaked at the Heroes dorm and confronted him alongside my sisters. We finally met the person who will help us. With long black hair tied in a ponytail with traces of blue he gazed at us with tired red eyes. Ignoring those I who is s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to aura's noticed his strong divinity. I heard before that a demigod was summoned this time around but to meet him up close…

Hearing the story from his friend and saw the contract's details making him angry.

'He is a kind person…' I felt something from that. He nodded after calming down and held his hand up in the air. An orb of light suddenly appeared from a spatial distortion and with his murmur a beautiful ornate dagger appeared. I felt the strong mysterious aura from the dagger but the next thing he have done startled me.

"Rule Breaker…" He said his words clearly heard this time. He stabbed the parchment and it released a strong light and turned into mana. Shocked but this time I felt it, the effects of the contract really vanished this time around making me alongside my sisters' cry. We remembered the atrocities we had done, how every time we defended each other from harm or even defiled by that twisted bastard. After calming down as per our oath we kneeled in front of our new master and lord.

Fl.u.s.tered he quickly tried to get us up. 'What a cute puppy~.' Is what we though looking at his face that broke down. His friend Sir Tenryuu suddenly punched him in the gut and William-sama quickly countered him. Trying to get up Sir Tenryuu tried to say something but our bodies moved instinctively and 'restrained' him properly.

Calming down he refused us being servants and the next thing that happened is a long drawn out conversation of enticement and denial. I saw his face kept changing from serious to fl.u.s.tered to the point when Rena the one who has the sharpest and l.e.w.dest lounge of us offered to warm his bed making him blush.

'Fu~ fu~ for a hero to be this pure~.' We thought of this when we looked at his blushing face. But he still won't budge. Noticing him trying to arrange his thoughts (He was actually talking with Lancer) I sent a specified hand gesture to my sisters and they smiled like how conniving foxes they are. Looking confused he sensed our change of aura and we looked at him with the cutest and most fragile look we had.

"Please~ let us serve you William-sama~!" We said all together.

Then his final defenses crumbled to pieces…

================================================================

Crap~ I reminiscence my time remembering those moments before I met William-sama. I looked out of the window and saw the training grounds of the heroes.

"Haaaah!" I heard his spirited shout and look at him who is training with a spear. 'Such beautiful yet masterful movements' I mused. Even right now I still can't get enough of those. Even if in effect of our oath we followed him I felt that he is a very kind person. But the thing is call it a woman's intuition but I felt him have a very strong connection with that great personage.

"*humming~*" I hummed while arranging my blond hair, I already started to have silver strands of hair courtesy of my status but I still take care of it. I looked back at William-sama's form and noticed a female silhouette charging at him and suddenly hugged him. I suddenly felt something in me break.

*crack*

The sound of my comb breaking echoed out in the silent room.
