Fate/Inheritance

Chapter 39 - 38: The instructor’s musing

A beautiful hail storm dropping from the sky.

The moonlight flickered off the small fragments as they fall down to where everyone was, and the sight of objects being crushed by the chunks of ice is truly spectacular.

"That boulder just broke to bits!"

"H-help me!"

A full panic attack.

Traditionally for any members of an evil organization, silence is life. That's exactly why these chicks won't cut it. Even if a dragon is snoozing in front of your eyes you should be thinking about is silencing your breathing and escaping.

The ones who panic this noisily are the common dish Villain 1, Villain 2 that is a set menu you see commonly getting slaughtered by a staple hero.

Hmm? I also forgot my introductions also, names Naruan a senior instructor of the evil organization Howling. I won't speak of my age but I'm more in the old side. I'm also a reincarnator from the beautiful blue planet called Earth living in the beautiful yet dangerous place called Korea. I though at the time I reincarnated I will live the main character road but reality hit me hard as in badly… With zero mana inside me and can't even develop it I was quickly forced to live in this unforgiving planet where kids at the age of five can play with fire. So here we are in an evil organization with good salary with just a bit of risk your head and body will be forcefully divorced if you do badly!

Ignore my drivel a bit but it seems there is already some promising chicks in the middle of this chaos. One of them is the kid who correctly identified the 'umbrella', well she is currently busy arguing with an idiot who keeps pointing at what is the umbrella. Well if you don't know what happened in the Great War ten years ago you would not know what is actually going on.

This special bombardment courtesy of me and my boss at my previous workplace made this bombing a debut in that war and oh boy the casualties was staggering. Well the horrified world powers copied it later but we were already prepared for the countermeasures of it. If there's rain you should pull out your umbrella right?

After various testing what came out is that staff they are holding, to be honest that thing is already strictly monitored by the empire, it could only be spread around when either be dropped in the battlefield, stolen by the spies or by someone like me who stole the finished product and secretly sold them in an enemy nation for a high price. So with those considerations it has a unique way of activation and the Empire-style bombardment was specialized that even if with the umbrella you can't block it alone.

Also +1 point to the kid who identified it first. For the record, at 10 points you can graduate early. Also there where some kids in the previous cohort who later found the identity of the staff and tried to ran away with them, that was nearly the moment my 1st casualty in my entire career as an instructor would had been recorded.

As the saying goes. Catch not fish for a man, but teach a man how to fish.

So let's not catch a fish for them but teach them how to go about catching fish instead.

"Let's narrow it in a bit."

"Narrowing in"

Don't they say people perform the most spectacular feats right when they're on death's door? Seeing how these kids can't find a solution, I decided to give them a solution instead.

The solution being that if they couldn't find a solution then they would die. Watching them flocking like herd of sheeps and started to show some promising talents I decided to help them oil those young brains of theirs so it will run smoother.

"Mix in a few big ones." I asked the communications magician beside me who is looking at me with a strange gaze.

"…Are you serious about not killing them?"

"It's for show anyway. Fire them quite far off."

At my words, the communication mage hesitated for a bit before contacting the mages in the air, shortly afterwards human-sized blocks of ice started to form pits as they fell. Looking at the silent kids who just saw a block of ice around 50 meters in diameter make a crater the kid who identified the staff first and was busy ordering around swore.

"Ah, f.u.c.k. That's straight up unblockable."

With those words a total panic ensued at the recently organized chicks. I had a comment I accidentally blurted out when I looked at the kids the mage beside me paled further. This kids should survive this baptism first if they want to barely survive a hero's murderous charge filled with love. Those brats that somehow pops out yearly like some horny Catholic Rabbit out there is mass producing them. Especially those genuine-grade ones give huge damages to our organization every time they appear and if the organization needs funds to repair those damages? My salary is going to be cut!

That's why grow my incentives and be strong to take down those m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.tic perverts who rises up due to the power of friendship!

I prayed and saw three brats I marked who quickly passed, I clearly remember what I called them at this point of time; the murim protagonist, the dog and the crazy bitch. (A/N: Another note… murim is basically the jianghu of South Korea where martial artists basically is prevailent.)

But back then I did not realize. That the creature called a genuine hero would be actually be born from this place… Heck! There is two who is already a certified one alongside a spirit of a Hero…
