Fate/Inheritance

Chapter 93 - 84: Clean Up

As the screeching sound of the undead infront of me slowly died down, I stared blandly as the magical energy dispersing from the iridicent dagger died down. Dislodging the dagger from his c.h.e.s.t, I saw the body drop into the ground weakly with a thud, face first.

[Oy!] Big bro Cú's voice suddenly echoed in my mind, shock and bafflement on his tone the Hound of Ulster continued with his inquiry.[Did you just used an Authority!?]

Hearing his inquiry, I merely nodded. Authority, an innate ability of the Gods. The very innate 'right' of the Gods to shape the World to their bidding. Shaping the lands with their command, creating storms and earthquakes... and sometimes screwing with mortals (sometimes literally). As a demi-god, it would had been imposibble to have the unique ability to command such feat. Yet with the help of the genuine silver arm of the high king of Tuatha Dé Nann, the very concept of the Witch of Colchis' betrayal and her divinity formed into the ultimate anti-magic Noble Phantasm I held... and the authority of the Sun God whose blood flows in me… I managed to 'will' and put my intent at the Rule Breaker and skipped some… several steps and required knowledge to do something.

Dismissing the dagger, I waited calmly as the body on the ground stilled like a literal corpse when...

"Gaaaahaakk!! Gah Ha Ha Ha... Woa!" 'It' suddenly stood up and gasped deeply for air, when he suddenly lost balance and rested on his bottom. I see that the red soul fire his eye sockets had slowly became blue and I felt his gaze focusing on me accompanyed with bewilderment, shock, caution, and gratitude in one single concotion.

As I waited him to calm down, I watched him gaze around the battlefield as his body language clearly shows how disturb he is of what he saw. Finally, he closed his 'eyes' (if his soul fire vanishing is a distinction) and took some deep breaths and his gaze focused on me with renewed clarity.

"You... what did you do?" He finally said with his face laced in confusion. Pausing, I examined his face again and when I was sure it worked. I finally opened my mouth.

"I... switched the one who is controlling the vessel." I said with a bit of uncertainity, making the guy infront of me gape in shock.

'Honestly, I was not sure if it would work anyway... I was merely 30% sure it would had work.' I silently thought.

[Oi, oi, oi, are you seriously saying you did it on the fly?] Big bro Cú's suddenly said, remembering that surface thoughts were readable by them, I replied and said I had already thought of the possiblilty for it to fail and if it had failed, the magic reanimating the corpse infront of me would had hust been normally dispelled .

[Tch, annoying brat. As much as I praise ya for for being creative, and even completely achieving a half-baked plan with no visible consequences is both promising and dangerously stupid.] He angrily said with a tone akin to berating a child. Instead of being angry, my head suddenly cooled down and when I checked my half-baked plan and how I did it without hesitation... I feel stupid, damn.

[As much as I have a bad relationship with the dog in a blue jumpsuit.] [Oi!] [Enacting plans without seriously thinking about your actions and it's consequences is plain stupidity. Don't put swift cunningness and blockheaded stupidity in a same plate or I will bury you first before someone does.] EMIYA voiced out his thought and also scolded me. As I felt sheepish at the two's actions, I suddenly noticed something important but Big Bro Cú beat me in a punch.

[Oi, did you just agree with me~!] He said teasingly.

[I do not know what you mean] Came EMIYA's reply making the Hound of Ulster snicker and tease him repeatedly. Shaking my head, I left them to themselves and focused at what is currently at hand, noticing that he is seemingly disturb of me suddenly shaking my head, I dismissed, what had become of my married blades that are either lying on the ground or stuck on his skin making his natural healing factor to kick in.

Without asking for permission nor waiting for the obvious voice of thanks, I grabbed his left arm and literally dragged him at the direction where I left Yamada and Sake.

"Wa-! Oi! Wait!" I heard his protest but merely resumed my march without his body hindering me nor letting the still burning ground to scorch him. A few moments later, I finally saw beyond the thinning smog and smoke the visages of Yamada and Sake. Without pause, I briskly walked at their direction and saw Sake already awake and tense looking at my direction.

Before she opened her mouth, I dismissed the cowl covering my head and saw her eyes widen.

"I know you have a lot of questions but I believe you need to talk with him first." I said finally dropping her son letting her finally focus at the undead. Looking at them, I saw both their 'eyes' widen and multiple emotions was instantly insinuated when their gaze met; longing, grief, shame, regret, and paternal love.

"L-little Red… is that you?" Sake said in grief and hesitation as she slowly walked to the undead with clear uncertainty. When the undead heard the words I saw him clearly flinch back, as if afraid of contact. His mouth opened and closed as if hesitating on saying something.

A few seconds the still air stayed till he finally had the courage to say that single important word.

"M-mother..." He said choking in emotion, and as if someone literally pumped her with adrenaline and instantly rushed into her son and gave him one of the most frightening bone crushing hug I saw (and heard) while crying tears of joy.

"MY SON!!!" She cried out hugging the poor lad making me really weirded out how an undead screamed in pain without getting hit by any holy or exorcising energy. Shaking the bafflement, I felt, I merely gave them some space by dropping a thick brown tent above them alongside an instant bounded field I set up around them by throwing four prepared rune stones into a square formation around the tent for an extra layer of privacy.

Nodding at my considerate self, I finally focused at the corpse… I mean barely breathing person that Sake was using to lean on. His once beautiful pristine black hair had turned into a silvery white color found on the elderly, his youthful face became gaunt and pale by the loss of blood. Even his chiseled body had gone a bit skinny. Yet the smug face of my fellow comrade (otaku) never left his face.

I kneeled in front of him as I saw his gaze focusing on me with that usual frivolous stare.

"D-*cough*did we win…?" He said amidst his coughing, his still clear eyes looking at me. Nodding in affirmation, I saw him snort in amus.e.m.e.nt as he examined my current clothing and appearance.

"N-*cough*now that I got a clear look… you damn look like him right now." He said while coughing a lot of blood, as his gaze examined me he finally noticed the silver prosthetic right arm. Looking at his eyes filled with confusion I merely willed for the Divine Construct to dissipate, a normal slightly tanned arm replacing it.

"Long story…" I said when I saw the confusion on his eyes deepen. When he gave a nod in understanding he weakly rested his body further at the boulder he is leaning on.

"I understand… But before that…" He weakly said but his arms suddenly pulled me a bit closer to me. Feeling that he will say something important, I prepared to listen attentively at what he is going to say.

"If…" He said with clarity… "If… you, return to our world… promise me…" His tone started to have some pleading on it. I noticed some adventurers had just approached us at the listening range and look at him with complex emotions.

"Promise me…" He said while wetting his dried lips with his blood.

"To burn all of my 'research materials'."

"…"

"…"

Silence… again… silence engulfed the battlefield as I saw the adventurers wept in tears while my eyebrows started to twitch.

"I- geho! *cough* h-here is my address… Burn the computer in my room and all the data in it. There is also a *cough* *cough* stack of hard drives at a hidden compartment of my bed… Destroy them also… please." He said imploringly as my annoyance welled further while I kept hearing the audience cry in sorrow and grief… Heck that short old man with a huge hammer is crying some manly tears!

But I know for sure what those 'research materials' he was implying… and that made me pissed so much that I bluntly said to him.

"You're not going to die." I said to him bluntly. I saw Yamada's face became sorrowful and filled with pity.

"I… *cough* am a martial artist Will… I know my body as clear as a mirror *cough*…" He said while he shook his head forlornly. "My life force is already weakened like a dying old man…*cough* *cough* J-just… let me die a warrior's death Will…"

"I said… you are not going to DIE!" I shouted at him as I stood up growling at him angrily, silver magical energy gathering at my right arm.

"No Will you…" Yamada tried to refute when he finally noticed the familiar magical energy at my right arm, 'very familiar'. "don't…understand…" He said as his face became a shade paler as the words rolled his tongue.

"You.Will.Not.D.I.E." I said stating each word as a red thick tent was spitted again from my item box three meters away from me and throwing four familiar rune stones around it, erecting a sound proof bounded field.

"N-no…NO!!!" He screamed with a sudden outburst of energy as he suddenly stood up with vigor and tried to run away.

*Crack* *Crack*

"GYAAAAAAAA!!!!"

Two crisp sound of broken bones was heard as Yamada screamed in pain and dropped into the ground, with broken legs. I felt the adventurer's flinch and I heard one of them choke in astonishment. Ignoring them, I casually walked beside him as I saw him desperately crawl away from me as the silver magical energy on my right arm intensified as if excited.

"NOOOO!!! KILL ME!!!! SOMEEONNEE!!!" He cried out wretchedly as he desperately crawled away and kept on glancing at my right arm as if a monster might jump out. Correction, a devil might jump out. I had heard Big Bro Cú gulp nervously at my head as I felt EMIYA's confusion when I finally grabbed his right leg.

"YAAAAAMMMMEEERROOOOOO!!!!!" He cried out this time in Japanese, clearly he subconsciously said it out loud. I ignored the desperate crawling sound and cries of help as we neared the tent, the silver magical energy on my right arm now is shining brightly as the 'light' felt Yamada's presence making a cold chill crawl up his spine, making him desperately call for help further.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO–…" His cries were silenced when the tent's flaps 'engulfed' him, as the adventurers hesitated outside as they watched the tent in fear, they saw at the abyss-like darkness beyond the flapping opening of the tent a flash of silver light and darkness encroached again furthering the fear the adventurer's felt beyond said tent.

The sound of swallowing of saliva was heard again as the sun slowly rises up at the horizon while the cries of joy and the shrieks of torment was left unsaid.

A few minutes later.

"Kill me…" Came the repeated groan of Yamada as he listlessly came out, fully rejuvenated. While William's face appeared outside the tent as his cold gaze made the already pale and shivering adventurer's became paler when they met his gaze.

"Who's next." Was the only thing he said and they all instantly shrieked in panic.

Omake:

Pandora's Box

Present

Yamada's Room, Japan

Yamada's sister: Hmmm~ so this is the things baka-niichan loves ehh~

Heroic Spirit Corner:

"What the hell is that thing!!!" EMIYA's cry of fear as he saw a certain 'animate' silver haired girl cackling while 'tickling' Yamada inside the tent.

His Reality Marble stirred as a copy of a certain silver bat appeared on the infinite world of blades, but not 'alive'. He instantly understood what that 'thing' is and it made him shudder in fear as he saw it's 'exploits' that even him, a Counter Guardian who had fought in wretched battlefields had slain and battled tooth and nail of countless opponents stronger than him, a primal fear if he understood.

He just can't understand what that 'maniac' had for brains when he designed and made that 'thing' alongside those elves and dwarves. He can apreciate the idea, but there is just something wrong about something dangerous that will not let you die, literally.

"…It is better left unsaid." The Hound of Ulster said while his face pale and he shuddered.
