The crunching of David's boot soles in the snow was the only sound as he slowly made his way towards the Hog's Head, taking the long scenic route to get some alone time and thinking in before the meeting with his peers.

It was surprisingly cold this Hogsmeade weekend, as it didn't snow very often in the Scottish Highlands during October.

But David didn't mind, he much preferred the cold and the beauty of a fresh dusting of snow.

Seeing people enter the Hogs Head from a distance, David looked down at his wristwatch and saw that it was probably time to get a move on.

He told Hermione that he wouldn't be early but showing up late to the first meeting of his Defence Against the Dark Arts club would be a very bad look. First impressions mattered after all, in fact sometimes, they were key.

---

Upon entering the Hogs Head, David was hit by the very obvious scent of livestock, and knowing what he knew about Aberforth Dumbeldore, heavily suspected it to be a goat.

The stone floor that adorned the entirety of the one-room pub was covered in dirt and grime, likely not having been cleaned in decades.

Sighing, David looked around and saw a congregation of students in the left corner of the pub.

Hermione was also there, huddled with Harry, Ron and the Weasley twins. There was quiet chatter going on among the twenty or so students gathered.

He picked out his friends from Ravenclaw, Sue Li, Padma Patil and Luna Lovegood sitting together at the very front of the row of chairs Hermione must have set up.

His entrance must have rung a bell of some sort, for the Barkeep, Aberforth had turned to look at him, as well as a couple of the normal patrons of this fine establishment.

David knew them to really be Mundungus Fletcher, who was doing his job of tailing Harry for Dumbeldore and the Order while disguised as a witch… as he was banned from this fine establishment.

This would result in Educational Decree Number Twenty-Four. David had no plans on allowing that to happen this time around.

He didn't expect to be able to keep this group a secret for the entire year, but he wanted as much time as possible to teach.

But he also needed the events leading up to members of the D.A. rushing to the Ministry to happen. It was the only way to get Voldemort to reveal himself, something that was extremely crucial to everyone's lives.

Hermione noticed David and decided to come to greet him, breaking from her group and smiling enthusiastically while doing so.

David made his way over to the bar while matching her smile.

"David! We have such a good turnout!" she said as she pulled him into a hug.

"I know, it looks great, but keep it down. I don't want anyone overhearing us," he whispered, kissing her cheek and hugging her back. .

"Oh, sure," she nodded softly.

"How many do we have?" he asked, giving a quick look at everyone who was gathered.

"We have twenty people here, I thought there would be more… but I guess not," Hermione said with a touch of annoyance.

David's brow rose at that, he knew that roughly twenty-eight people were at the initial meeting. But he didn't have Harry's star power or the interest of what went down in the Third Task.

"Twenty Butterbeers please," David asked, turning to Aberforth.

The man just stared at David, seemingly annoyed by the large order, but eventually acquiesced.

"That'll be forty Sickles," he said to David as he began grabbing dusty bottles of Butterbeer from beneath the counter.

Rummaging in his pockets, David pulled out two Galleons and six Sickles and placed them on the counter, sliding them over through the thin layer of dust present.

Flicking out his wand, David conjured two platters to hold all the Butterbeers, with Hermione quickly ȧssisting him immediately.

"You really shouldn't be using magic outside of Hogwarts," Hermione said quietly, but not with any real strength.

"It'll be fine. Most people already do in Hogsmeade anyway," David replied, placing the last of the bottles on the platters.

Hermione then went to pick one up, but David stopped her, "One second."

"There," David said with a smile.

"Show off," Hermione muttered, rolling her eyes, but still being impressed with David's wand work.

Taking a platter as well, David joined her in the short walk towards the students placing the platter on a table near them all and spoke up, "Hey all. Come get a Butterbeer.

All eyes turned to him as he said that and soon enough, the sounds of chairs shuffling were heard throughout the bar as everyone got up to grab an ice-cold Butterbeer.

"Didn't think this joint even sold cold beverages, nice." David heard someone mutter in joy.

Letting them sort themselves out, David drew his wand one last time and cast a non-verbal Muffliato to make sure no one overheard him speaking.

Looking everyone over, he saw many faces he knew, Harry, Ron, Neville, Dean, Lavender, Parvarti, Cho Chang, Marietta, Luna and more.

Hufflepuff definitely had the worst showing, with the only members of the house being present being Susan Bones and Hannah Abbot.

David stood before them all and got straight into it, while also keeping an eye on the people he didn't want to overhear this conversation.

"Hey everyone… Look. Let's not beat around the bush, Umbridge is a horrid Professor, who can't teach a proper lesson to save her life," David began.

"Hear, hear!" The twins shouted in agreement, with many murmuring in approval.

"Now the issues for her and the Ministry's sabotage of our education… they vary for each of us. Some of us simply want to pass out O.W.L.S, others? Just want to break a few rules," David said, eyeing the Weasley twins who were grinning madly.

"But for others? Well… we think something much darker is afoot and… we don't want to die," David added, changing the atmosphere immediately.

"Not all of you believe Voldemort is back… I understand, but I don't share your sentiments. I listened to the mad ravings of Barty Crouch Jr. and I believe Harry when he says he saw him come back. Like it or not, ladies and gentlemen he's alive."

Seeing some of the sceptical faces, David continued, "Look you don't have to believe me, it's scary I get it. All you need to ask yourself is, do you want to learn defence? For whatever the reason, it is deadly important we all know how to defend ourselves… I think that's something we can all agree with, as you guys made the effort to come here and listen to me."

There was some more mumbling between everyone. David's friends were giving him looks of encouragement, as was Hermione.

Harry had a look of gratitude on his face, for speaking up about Voldemort, David ȧssumed.

"Alright… So, who's going to teach us? You? What makes you so qualified," Dean asked, sceptical of David's ability to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Immediately his fellow Ravenclaws came to his defence, "He's the top student of the year. In every subject!" Sue said to him angrily.

"Sheesh, okay, okay. I get it. Super smart," he said with a roll of his eyes.

"You can make up your own mind on whether I can teach you anything or not, by coming to a single lesson," David said tiredly.

"I dont know Fred, Harry here was a Hogwarts Champion, I think he might be a better teacher to us all," George said, elbowing his twin.

"I agree with you George, young Harry here can even cast a Patronus," Fred added on.

"Fought a Dragon, he did," George further added.

"Not to mention a Basilisk in his second year," Fred said, nodding along.

"Fred, George. Enough," Harry said in annoyance to his two friends.

"You can cast a Patronus?" Neville asked curiously, in awe of his fellow Gryffindor.

"David can too. And he was also there, saving your sister, or don't you remember that?" Hermione said in clear annoyance, glaring at the Weasley twins for starting this, but also quickly giving Ginny a look and mouthing 'sorry'.

"Can you really, David?" Luna asked with that dreamy tone of hers, cutting through what was likely going to be another comment questioning David.

"Yeah Luna, I can. It's also a lesson I have planned. Being able to defend ourselves from Dementors is a crucial skill in my books," David said, answering his friend happily.

"That's some really advanced spell work there, David. Auntie told me all about the Patronus," Susan Bones said loudly, pushing for more people to accept David.

Eventually, a consensus seemed to sound out, with everyone at the very least interested in participating in a single lesson.

It was Angelina Johnson that spoke up, however, "Hey. We need to schedule this, so it doesn't conflict with Quidditch!"

"Yeah!" Fred and George said in tandem.

"Don't forget Ravenclaw's training as well, David!" Cho added loudly, being the House Seeker.

"Just… leave a note with Hermione. She and I will be setting up a schedule… looks like we can not worry about Hufflepuff training," David said, smirking as he finished as neither Susan nor Hannah played.

"Where are you planning on holding lessons, David? We can't rightly use the classrooms with Umbridge about," Padma asked worriedly.

"Don't worry about that. I have a place picked out and once we're ready I'll share it with you all," David answered her quickly, obviously thinking of the Room of Requirement.

"Okay, guys. I-I think we should all write our names down on a list, to sign up… But also, to agree that you won't go shouting about this to Umbridge," Hermione said to everyone, holding a piece of parchment before her.

There were some nervous looks, as people didn't want their names on the list.

As the 'leader' of the group, David stepped up and signed first, which followed with Hermione, then Harry and Luna.

After that, the floodgates opened and everyone else got up to add their names to the list that David and Hermione planned on jinxing at a later date.

Eventually, everyone trickled out, but not after making sure everyone made extra sure not to be overheard talking about it.

"I'm so proud of you!" Hermione shouted as she leapt into David's arms, wrapping her feet around him and kissing him lovingly.

Their impromptu makeout session was interrupted by Aberforth, who had made his way over to collect the empty Butterbeer bottles left behind.

Coughing loudly, he glared at the two of them, indicating that he wanted them out, and out now.

"Eep," Hermione let out, seeing the old man staring over them disapprovingly.

"Right… let's go, David. I reserved us a table in the Three Broomsticks…" Hermione said quickly, dragging David out of the dingy pub/inn.

---

After having a short date with Hermione, where they discussed the details of the Defence lessons, it was decided that Hermione would jinx the paper everyone signed and David would create special Galleons that would be used to inform everyone when a lesson was to be scheduled.

He planned on adding more enchantments than what Hermione did in canon, mainly to impress and practice his skills.

She questioned him about where they would hold the lessons, as she and her friends were coming up with blanks so far.

David told her of a certain room he learnt about from Mel after she did some digging for him with the other House Elves that work in Hogwarts.

Taking her to the Seventh-Floor left corridor, opposite the painting of Barnabas the Barny.

"David… there's nothing here," Hermione said with worry.

"It's a secret room, Hermione. The Room of Requirement," David answered, walking back and forth three times as Hermione just stared at him like he was crazy.

"See?" he said as a doorway appeared before them, shocking Hermione by its sudden appearance.

"C'mon. Open it," David encouraged, hand on her back, nudging her slightly.

"O-okay…" she said, walking towards the door slowly, taking a gulp and twisting the handle to open.

What greeted them was a room that was an expanded carbon copy of David's training room back at Cross Manor.

"Oh! David! It's just like back home! I mean, your home," Hermione said excitedly running in and exploring every nook and cranny, every pillar and fireplace.

After she explored for a minute or two, she shouted, "David! This is perfect! It has everything we want. How does it all even work?"

"Well… after walking past that specific wall three times, while thinking of what you want, the Room of Requirement creates it for you," David explained, "There are limits however, it can't create food for one."

"Because of Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration," Hermione finished, smiling brilliantly, loving this room all that much more.

"Think it will work?" David asked, walking over to Hermione.

"Definitely, this place is perfect. Everyone's going to love it!" she said excitedly.

"That's good to hear… so want to have a quick duel?" David asked her, wanting to get some practice in.

Looking at him with intently, Hermione looked around and bit her lip before saying, "How about we… do something else?"

Raising a brow, David asked, "What do you have in-," but before he could finish, she had already mashed her lips against his with.

A little surprised, but not complaining David reciprocated, snogging her with equal enthusiasm.

While exchanging saliva, Hermione directed David towards the wall, so she could press up against him to her heart's content, but as they got close, David spun her around, trading places with her, pushing her against the wall and exploring her body with his hands.

Hermione let out sweet mȯȧns as his left hand made its way under her shirt, fondling her brėȧsts and teasing her the way she liked.

She reciprocated by running her hands through David's hair and grinding upon him.

Escalating, David moved to the side, removing his hand from her ċhėst, which she let out an annoyed whimper for, wanting his hand back there.

Slipping his hand under her skirt, David nearly tore her pȧntɨės as he dragged them down to gain access to her slit.

Running a finger in between, he found she was already wet and wanting.

Just like she taught him during their time together in Cross Manor, David slipped two fingers inside and went for that spot that made her squeal.

The sound of wet squelching could be heard throughout the empty Room of Requirement, along with the sound of David and Hermione mȯȧning into each other's mouths.

She began to reciprocate his efforts, by undoing his belt, unzipping his trousers, and grasping his shaft firmly, running her soft hand back and forth with a twisting motion.

"I'm ċummɨnġ!" Hermione shouted, covering her mouth to muffle herself as she fell to her knees and started to shake in ecstasy.

David just stood over, shaft pointed at her face, as she ȯrġȧsmed, one hand running through her hair lovingly, while the other was used to brace himself against the cold stone walls.

Eventually, she regained her composure and eyed his length wantonly, opening her mouth and engulfing him as she had practised many a time over their short time together back in the Manor.

Bobbing her head back and forth lovingly, David came after a few minutes of Hermione's attention, grunting as he filled her mouth with his seed.

Their first foray into this hadn't gone well, with Hermione hating the taste, but after whipping up a potion, he found a taste she enjoyed and began a potion regime for her.

After she swallowed, he fell to the floor beside her, hugging her with one arm as they both settled down.

Hermione leaned into the hug with a content smile on her face as she did her best to control her rapid heart rate.

After some more petting and some light kisses, they cleaned up with magic and inspected each other's uniforms, making sure everything was up to Prefect standard.

"We're definitely going to have to do that again," David said first, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Definitely," Hermione nodded while blushing up a storm.

Looking at her watch, her eyes suddenly shot open, "Oh no! I'm going to be late. I have Prefect duty with Ron tonight."

Looking at his own watch, David replied, "A little jog and you'll be fine Hermione. You don't need to be early for everything."

Biting her lip in worry, she ignored David and made for the door, "I got to go David. Love you!"

"Love you too," David shouted back as she disappeared, hoping she heard him.

After the door to the Room shut, David looked around and decided some training was in order.

"Bombarda!" he shouted pointing at a caricature of a Death Eater he requested the Room to create.
