Chapter 28

“Miss Jayna. There’s a play that the young people said was fun, so would you like to go watch it with me?”

“I’ve never seen a play before.”

“That’s great. Today’s play is recommended for beginners.”

Nod, nod.

‘Why are your eyes sparkling like that?’

Jayna eagerly listened to every word Rosian said.

‘It’s just useless stories. What’s so interesting about it?’

Since Rosian often went out with youngsters on a day like this, he seemed to be good at recommending something to others.

Michael, who was heartbroken, crooked up his mouth.

“Why do you keep on nodding your head? Are you a broken doll? Ah no, a broken doll is way prettier than you.”

It was a thoughtless remark, but soon Michael panicked.

‘Oh, was that a little too much?’

Recently he has been careful of what he says and does in front of Jayna.

For Michael, making a conversation with Jayna is harder than having a private talk with the Tower Lord

“Hey, just now—”

Michael tried to somehow correct what he had just said, but Rosian was faster than him.

Rosian said while making eye contact with Michael.

“Why do you always talk so rudely to Miss Jayna? Can’t you make it a little nicer?”

“What?”

“Miss Jayna, don’t worry you don’t look strange at all.”

At that moment, an unhappy feeling came over Michael’s throat.

‘You dare to tell me what to do?’

But in fact, Michael felt worse listening to someone else talk about Jayna, nicer than he can with his bold words.

“Why does it matter to you how I talk to her?”

Then Michael stared silently at Rosian.

Soon the mana in the air surrounding them began to react according to his mood, and Jayna grabbed Rosian’s arm to put him beside her.

Michael relaxed at once.

‘Ah, I could have scared this little kid right now, let’s just forget about this damn Imperial cousin of mine.’

Sure enough, Michael ignored Rosian for a moment…

“Your Highness, are you all right?”

But Michael soon opened his mouth in shock.

Jayna was worried about Rosian, not about herself.

‘Are you seriously taking sides right in front of me?’

A dry laugh escapes his lips.

“You’re worried about this kind of guy.”

“Why, is there a problem with that?”

Instead of Jayna, Rosian answered sharply. Michael was instantly irritated.

“How can I not say a wor—.”

“How can you not say a word nicely? Your voice got louder just now. It sounds like you’re angry.”

But on one hand, it bothered Michael.

‘I certainly have a rough tongue…’

Michael knitted his brows.

He secretly gave Rosian a cold look. It was a warning.

‘Why does this Imperial bastard keep on coming to the tower?’

You have to take the gate from the palace to the tower.

It’s a long distance, so it must be a lot of trouble, but he comes with ease every time.

‘It’s all because of that damn aunt. It’s because she keeps allowing him to skip training.’

What’s the use of his imperial title then?

A person who likes to go to the market or hang out with young children was lazy and unfaithful about almost everything.

Michael, who was worried about trampling on Rosian, soon smiled.

‘He’s not worth watching out for anyway.’

Elia, his aunt, was a woman that is to be respected, but his cousin on the other hand was not likable at all.

‘His actions may be justified by his young now, but let’s wait till he gets older…’

Michael was a magic genius from an early age.

As a wizard who entered the tower at a young age, and learned all kinds of research records and magical power, Michael didn’t like Rosian, who had nothing but the identity of his parents.

‘I understand the intention of my aunt who wants him (Rosian) to be inspired by coming to the tower and seeing the wizards there. but no matter how much I look at this child, I can’t seem to find an answer’

Why is he here smiling so brightly in front of the kid instead of watching and getting inspired in the tower?

Didn’t he give her a cloak with the Royal symbol last time?

No matter how much that little kid helped him, how could it be as worth as that cloak…

‘You’re messing with this little kid out of curiosity, aren’t you?’

“Brother, please refrain from using magic in the theater.”

Even if he shoots out a murderous gaze, he doesn’t even flinch.

‘Damn, he’s a kid who always got scolded by his mother, so he’s rather immune to this kind of threatening.’

– Wouldn’t Jayna need a friend of her age, too?

If it wasn’t for that, no matter what kind of excuse Rosian used, he would have stopped him from coming.

Michael clenched his teeth and pulled back his mana.

The play she saw for the first time today, was interesting.

She doesn’t know about the world here, but it’s because she has already seen things like dramas and movies on Earth, Jayna didn’t have much expectations for the play.

It’s going to be the same acting anyway, the only difference is watching in video and in real life.

However, the play had a different charm than watching through the media.

‘I wouldn’t have known this joy in my whole life if the Imperial prince had not told me to come.’

Powerful energy was emanating from the stage.

Immediate communication between actors and spectators.

“Can someone like me have the right to love you, your Majesty?”

“You’re the one who’s too good for me.”

Jayna realized one thing as she listened to their lines.

‘A commoner girl and His Royal Highness. This is a popular cliche even on Earth.’

The development of the content was not unfamiliar. It was similar to Cinderella on Earth.

“Do Miss Jayna also want to be like the heroine of the play?”

Lowering his head, Rosian asked Jayna about her impression.

A smile caught near his mouth as if he already knew what would be her answer.

Although he said it like that, it was no different from the question, “Do you want to marry a prince?”

Jayna answered immediately without even thinking.

“Not really.”

An unexpected and resolute answer hardened the face of Rosian.

‘I wasn’t worried at all because I didn’t know she would say no.’

He smiled and raised his head, but could not hide his embarrassment.

‘How can she answer no immediately?’

After her reply, Jayna looked at the front, seemingly avoiding his eyes.

‘It could be an expression of shyness, or it could be a cover-up.’

All the young people he met were aiming for the position of being his royal bride. Whether it’s their own desire or a family order.

But she isn’t that simple.

He’s been thinking about it since last time, but he still couldn’t understand the girl in front of him.

‘I can’t see any reason for Miss Jayna to be different from the others.’

And he would never get embarrassed by the firm refusal. Never.

So Rosian asked in a more intimate tone than usual.

“Don’t you like a man who is handsome, powerful, and rich?”

Standing next to him, Michael noticed Rosian’s fine trembling facial muscles and couldn’t hold back his laughter.

“Poo-Ha-ha!”

The tip of his ears was red at the ridicule he heard from behind, but Rosian didn’t back down.

He was rarely in a very serious condition like right now.

He is the son of a woman called “The Hero of the Continent” and the grandson of the Imperial Emperor.

Rosian may inherit the throne in the future.

The power and money that people wanted the most, was overflowing from Rosian.

So why is Jayna refusing with a straight face?

“I have a solid ideal type.”

Rosian’s eyes trembled at Jayna’s reply.

Michael laughed louder than before.

“Ah-ha-ha, you have an ideal type!”

“I… see.”

At this point, there was a poke in his pride.

Young children of their age blushed at themselves, and older ones did not openly express their selves, they are all reluctant about voicing their likes. But the girl in front of his eyes just said that she has a firm ideal type.

What kind of man does he like, for her to refuse him?

“Then what kind of man do you like?”

Michael, who was laughing at Rosian from behind, stepped in proudly.

“Wouldn’t this kid like a ‘strong’ man?”

Rosian failed to control his facial expression this time.

He stared at Michael quietly, frowning.

However, no matter how Rosian felt, Michael seemed very excited.

He continued, not caring about Rosian staring at him.

“It should be a boy living in the tower. A boy that was strong enough to be accepted and to live in the tower, not anywhere else.”

“I’m not that weak.”

“Oh, yeah. Then can you stop my magic in at least one shot?”

Michael reached out and stroked Jayna’s head. Carefully, delicately and lovingly.

“This kid could stop some of my magic shots. And here’s someone older but was more pathetic and weaker.”

“That—”

Jayna tried to open her mouth, but Michael pressed her cheeks to stop it.

‘That’s because dragon scales can block all kinds of attacks’

It’s childish to compare dragon and human beings.

Jayna sighed inwardly. Michael was sometimes, or often, childish.

But unexpectedly, Rosian didn’t respond immediately. His expression was stiff and it was hard to see if his pride has been hurt.

This is different from the way he expressed his ideas with a smile towards Michael’s rude words last time.

‘I guess strength is Rosian’s weakness, too.’

As he said earlier, Rosian had a lot of things.

The time when the evil spirit king dyed the continent with fear has already passed.

Unless the Emperor’s grandson, who has wealth and power, do such great things as his mother did, there will be nothing for him to do but to stay in his mother’s shadow.

“So, what is Miss Jayna’s ideal type?”

He sounded a little down than usual as if he was offended.

“It must be a handsome, powerful, rich and ‘strong’ man like my cousin brother I see every day. Isn’t it?” (Michael)

Michael grinned.

“The bloodline is a scary thing, I couldn’t even recognize who is Princess Elia’s son.”

Rosian’s face crumbled.
