“…I’m so sorry!”

The young man in front of Aurora suddenly lowered his head on the floor. His head which rubbed against the floor has a shiny silver hair which was wrapped safely behind his neck in a thin black ribbon, and was swaying in the middle of his back. He was wearing the indigo uniform of a knight.

Aurora’s eyes narrowed at the uniform he was wearing which has an excellent embroidery especially in the cuffs and collar. She remembered that the meaning of the leaf design represents those who protects people and then it made her wonder what would be the meaning of the star design in the middle of these leaves? Was this uniform tailored for the knights, customized by the Marquis or was it the work of those in the royal capital but then, it made Aurora think that if one would use the man’s silver hair as a thread, it would make something beautiful.

Last night, before fleeing, Aurora looked at the man’s back and since, she still hasn’t caught up with the reality but the golden ring on her left finger shone gracefully as if telling her to give up.

The young man who showed a quick bow before Aurora is Felix el le Clavis.

Felix is a 21 years son of Marquis Clavis and the younger step-brother of Duchess Laetus. He is one of the crown prince’s Imperial Guard and also a knight of the royal guard of the palace, a promising young man. Anyone else would have been happy but for this young lady in her 18 years of life neither had a lover nor a fiancé, in addition with the ring that hit Aurora, it totally sums up to triple threat to the young lady. So one must say it was bad luck for him.

“First, I understand the situation. Thank you for your sincere response so please, get up from the floor.”

As he sat still on the floor, Aurora tells him with a bitter smile.

“And you can break it up. It’s a mistake because of the drink, you can put it off as a joke.”

“I can’t do that. ”

“Don’t worry about my reputation, of course, because I had no intention of marrying you.”

“No, I can’t let you cancel this situation which was caused by my foolishness and in a way would cause you pain.”

He was so serious that he almost looked like a fool, Aurora thought.

“I think we have to solve it properly, but I think it is too insincere to break off the engagement right away.”
