By his biological clock, Wu Li woke up at exactly 4:30 am.

He went to the lake near his house, nobody else was there and took a bath in the ice cold water.

He got out of the lake and dried himself off with a simple white cloth and wore his old worn out clothes.

"Today is the day", Wu Li said to himself as he smiled.

He looked at the windows displayed in his retina.

Wu Li smiled as he saw this. His original name was Josh J. Walton, an ordinary college student on earth who read too much wuxia/xianxia novels.

But on one Monday morning, when he was rushing to his class, he got hit by a car and died.

To his delight, he did not go to heaven or hell but crossed over to another world. And best of all he got a system.

The body he possessed was Wu Li's, he fell from a small cliff head first and died. Wu Li was only 6 years old at that time.

Josh looked through the system messages.

< 0/100,000,000 repetitions of the Basic Sword Art>

At first, he was excited at getting a system. But then he noticed the second message.

The Paragon of hell. Is it not supposed to be a god or goddess. But after pondering about it for a few seconds he put it at the back of his mind as he obviously could not do anything about it.

He tried to see what kind of blessing he received but it was gray in color indicating it was not activated yet. He tried to open it he received a warning message.

Since he couldn't do anything about it he will put it at the back of his mind.

He then read through all the messages but when he read the active mission details his eyes almost popped out of his sockets.

100,000,000, repetitions of Basic Sword Art.

'Brother System, I think you missed a decimal point somewhere'.

, replied the System.

'I don't even know any Basic Sword Art, hell I don't even know how to throw a punch properly'.

'That is convenient'.

Wu Li willed open the scroll when a warning popped up.

Wu Li mentally said yes and the scroll opened. All the information inside the scroll was directly imprinted into his brain and a fierce headache followed it. But it was just a small migraine level nothing serious, this was because the amount of information contained inside Basic Sword Art was small.

The Basic Sword Art contained 3 things, how to breathe while using the sword, how to move while using the sword, and 80 basic moves of the sword.

Wu Li frowned, ' It is so complex even though it is just a basic sword art'.

"Brother System is there a time limit on this mission".

'That's good to hear'.

'I should start with the breathing technique first', but suddenly he looked up at the sky and saw that it was noon, so he rushed back home as he didn't want his grandpa to be worried.

That was 10 years ago.

Now Wu Li was 16 years old. Every day for the past 10 years he had practiced the Basic Sword Art for 8 hours a day.

On the first day, he practiced the breathing technique. It took him 6 hours of continuous effort to properly do it. And after 3 days of continuous practice, the breathing technique became second nature to him.

Next, he started on the movement method. He tried it for 4 days to master the movement method

He then spends 5 days to practice the 80 basic sword moves.

And finally, on the 13th day, he combines all 3, the breathing technique, the movement method, and the 8 basic sword moves and executes the Basic Sword Arts.

It took him 20 days of continuous practice to fully integrate the 3 together.

And it took him another 1 day to finally make the counter to go from 0 to 1

< 1/100,000,000 repetitions of the Basic Sword Art>, Wu Li almost had the urge to cry when he saw the counter. He was both happy and depressed at the same time.

Happy because he finally understood how to properly execute the Basic Sword Art. Depressed because of the sheer number of times he has to repeat it in order to complete the mission.

At first, it took him 30 minutes to properly fully execute the Basic Sword Art. The reason why he does it so slowly is that if he speeds up even by a small bit then he might make a mistake, either his breathing will go out of control or he steps in the wrong angle, and the counter will not increase.

But as time passed with his continuous effort the time taken for him to properly execute it decreased.

By the 10th year, it only took him 2 minutes and 27 seconds to properly execute the Basic Sword Art.

If he wants to he could do it under 30 seconds but that puts too much pressure on his body.

By now the Basic Sword Art is so deeply ingrained in his body that he could do it properly even in his sleep.

At first, it was very difficult for him to continuously do the Basic Sword Art for an extended period of time as it exhausted him immensely.

But as time went on with a continuous effort his stamina increased immensely to a superhuman degree allowing him to continuously use the Basic Sword Art.

One of the main reason why he was able to improve his stamina to this superhuman level is because of the breathing technique.

The Qi within the air that he inhales is absorbed by his lungs due to the breathing technique and is circulated throughout his body using his bloodstream.

His body was nourished by the Qi that he absorbed. It was tempered and strengthened by doing the Basic Sword Art.

Over the last 10 years, he did the Basic Sword Art 99,999,900 times and used the breathing technique a countless number of times, which assimilated a massive amount of Qi inside his body.

This caused his body to change on a fundamental genetic level. The most notable among these changes was his cells passively absorbing Qi from the atmosphere.

Although his body may look steam line and weak, each and every one of his cells pack an immense amount of power in them.

He may not be as strong as a cultivator, he was still 10 times stronger and 8 times faster than the average a.d.u.l.t on Earth.

After doing some warmups he started to do the Basic Sword Art.

After 4 hours of continuously performing the Basic Sword Art 100 times, he finally fulfilled the conditions for completing the mission.

He looked at his retina as he received several notifications at once.
