Finding Andria

Chapter 17 - PUZZLEMENT 1/2

Charles didn't dream. When he woke up he was in an unknown room, he remembered passing out but he didn't remember sleeping in a bed. From the look of things he was still in Viole's house.

He shrugged off his shirt after finding a connecting bathroom and took a bath. He stared himself in the bathroom mirror. He could already distinguish the changes he had neglected for the past few days. He thought he was only under extreme stress when he knew he was getting thinner, his hair was already turning from pure black to dull black, and his eyes it has already changed from brown to black. He still couldn't see the red tinge inside the pupil but he was now convinced that everything that had happened was not a dream. He flexed both of his hands, and a warm tingling sensation started from under his skin. He knew if he just focuses on the power he can replicate the things he did before. What he needed most is to understand what he had become.

What does it mean to be a Reaper?

Why was the previous Reapers killed?

Why were they needed to be made and be a replacement?

What was their purpose exactly?

And here he was, awakened but still couldn't find Andria.

The sense of finding her just came intensely, like an itch he couldn't ignore. He has the power now to avenge his family.

Charles came out of his room and tried to find Viole or Irife. He had already walked around but still he couldn't find a single soul. Was there no one around?

When he found the stair he walked down the landing and finally found Viole lounging on an activity looking room, complete with sets of TV's and sound system.

Viole noticed his approached and stood to meet him outside the room. Charles took note of the way Viole looked kind of surprised.

"Where is Irife?" Charles asked looking around for any sign of her.

Viole only watched him. He was a tad taller than Charles and their color varies so much but there were a sense of comforting colors to look at.

"She stepped out for a bit," Viole said unconsciously. He was still staring at Charles as if trying to figure out a puzzle.

"Will she be okay?" Charles asked again, worried that she might get herself in danger.

"She didn't left." Viole answered simply.

Charles knew Viole was staring rudely at him, but he didn't want to point it out since he was their host, but it was getting on his nerve.

"You seem like you want to say something." Charles finally said.

Viole crossed his arms and looked at him as if he was stupid. "Well yeah," He started, "For starters, you were just out cold yesterday and it is only early in the morning you are already awake. You still looked like shit to me but you already seem energetic and that is weird. What the heck is going on inside that body of yours? That's what I want to know."

Charles could only shrug his shoulders. He did look like hell but in a better way.

"First of all, we needed to talk to Dragon to find out of your history. Because if what Irife told me about you are true, there is this possibility that you might be different from me or any of the other Reapers, and that is a problem. Those people will not stop until they get you." Viole said.

Were there any more surprises for Charles to get ready for? Like growing a pair of wings and then fly in the sky?

"Second, you needed to find what you are capable of. A day will come to you to do what a Reaper is supposed to do. That urge will consume you until you can finally control it yourself." Viole continued.

"And those people why are they after me?"

"They all do to newly awakened Reapers. Learn to outrun them if you don't want to become one of them."

Charles could only nod. For the mean time he needed to stay before he can finally find Andria. He needed to take one step at a time. For now he needed to learn and he needed to follow them. But as if reading his mind, Viole glared at him.

"Do not get any wrong idea. I am only trying to help because I owe it to Dragon Tattoo. I don't want to have anything to do about those lunatics and I don't want you to involve Irife in this any further. These things are way bigger for a demon. She's only a bystander, she do not need to be caught up in the middle of all this."

Charles nodded to appease Viole of his worries. His plan still stands. He thought to himself.

When Irife got inside she saw both of them talking in the hallway. From the way things look they both obviously were having a serious conversation so she only needed to stay quiet and waited them out.

She never thought a Reapers life was seriously even more complicated than of a demon or a human.
