Finding Andria

Chapter 21 - JAIL BREAK

To be perfectly honest, Charles wasn't ready to any of the things happening to him. When he freaked out because a speck of blue light came barreling down towards him he felt it was the last draw. He most likely felt a surge of energy and a warm tingling sensation under his skin but that had been forgotten when the Reaper they saw earlier which Viole knew came running passed them, stopped for a few minutes and urgently whispered something.

Bewildered, Viole grabbed him immediately and forced him back on his feet.

They run.

The Reaper earlier disappeared between walls; another one appeared and jumped through another, Charles was contemplating in amazement when he heard Viole said they will jump through the walls too.

"I have no idea how to do that!" Charles shouted in a panic.

"Don't think there's a wall. Imagine that it's the way out of here." Viole urged.

Charles didn't know if he was kidding because he knew he couldn't do it. He was at his limit, he could tell by the way his body was protesting with all the strenuous activities they've been doing. He didn't even know why they were running on the first place.

As if hearing Charles thoughts, Viole immediately said, "A Reaper from that House is in here, and he saw you incase you were wondering."

No sh*t, Charles cursed on his own thought.

The wall finally appeared, Charles saw a bend on the right but rather than running towards it Viole who run ahead of him jumped through the wall and disappeared. He heard his heart beating in anxiousness loudly on his c.h.e.s.t, his head pounding with the beginning of a headache. He made a choice and followed Viole.

====

Viole dropped from the third floor, he rolled to avoid the impact, as his eyes was adjusting to the darkness of the night, he heard the whole building screams a piercing alarm so loud that it can wake up a whole village. All light of the whole place lit up so bright it made him temporarily blind.

At the back of his head he heard a screaming voice. It took him a few seconds to realize it was Irife.

"Go back! Right now! You left Charles in there you idiot!" Irife voice screamed at Viole's. He didn't know where exactly the voice was coming from but it was so loud it completely blended with the sound of the alarm.

He just then realized Charles wasn't with him. He looked around frantically and finally believed Irife's voice screaming at him to go back.

"That dumb*ss!" He screamed while sprinting back, avoiding all the securities rallying around the building going around in all directions and inside through doors.

====

Charles literally hit the wall. All the sore spots suddenly felt like it was on fire. He was disoriented for a brief moment. When he came around he watched as a flock of people in uniforms carrying guns on their hands begun shooting and running steadily towards him. He realized he was already seen through his camouflage. Were they thinking he was a runaway convict trying to escape?

He scrambled on his feet and run. His adrenaline was so high he was able to shoulder through three securities on his way. He cursed Viole silently for bringing him in this place then leaving him behind.

He tried hard to remember the exit while thinking if he can blast his way out of the building and wishing that he can easily use his powers.

Charles felt a sudden burning sensation on his right leg. He was unable to see what caused it and he didn't care. He dived down when he heard a gunshot. He realized then that he was their target.

Charles scrambled back to his feet ignoring the painful muscles and wounds. He didn't get to be a Reaper just to die with gun shots; he was serious about living through all this to avenge his family.

His sixth sense kicked in when he felt danger coming. He saw it before anyone did. He dived down to another corridor and felt a sudden pressure passed through his back. Walls begun crashing down.

Shouts of men in pain filled the air, gun shots echoed through the walls, voices of screams so horrible anyone can have nightmares with was heard all through the corridor where Charles had landed.

He has no time to think, he needed to survive again.

The last time Charles had encountered the first Reaper he wanted him alive, this one didn't care if he gets killed. The walls got blasted so hard debris of cements rain down his heads. The iron doors got cut out easily like woods and more mad looking men came pouring down the hall.

It was a pandemonium.

All convicts and securities were up against each other, all men for themselves to survive, and there he was running for his life because one mad Reaper was after him.

The bends got more complicated as he run. There was no sign of exits and dead ends became more frequent.

He came to a stop on a wall so high there was no sign of windows or doors.

The hair at the back of his neck prickled and he knew the one after him was already there.

A scream gurgled through the hall and one body after another was thrown like a rag doll on the floor. Charles felt his knees wobbled in fright.

What the heck was this situation?

He waited to see the person after him. He was expecting a man like the previous one he had encountered, but when the shadow of the person begun nearing, it was not of a person but of a monster.

He was so sure that if he only had found his voice he could've screamed like a sissy.
