Finding Andria

Chapter 24 - SHUDDER 1/2

Viole never felt so stupid the whole time he was running through crowd of people not caring if he was seen jumping through walls. The urgency to go back and save Charles was so intense that the blurring of the alarm and Irife voice telling him what was happening with Charles was making him pissed off.

Charles by all means really is an anomaly. This Viole had already concluded. The man was starting to truly be something else. Jumping through walls was easy as imagining it was a door. Any Reapers can easily do it, and no one who was just awakened can use a power that needs to be practiced for years. Irife told him Charles was using his powers? Outpacing the monster she had described to him? Charles was like recently awakened, and everyone on that house was after him?

"Your almost there," Irife voice was laced with anxiousness; it brought back Viole from his own thought.

He felt his skin crawl. He was never a fan of the deed his about to undergo, because he didn't want to be something beyond than himself, but he needed to save Charles and he knew he needed his whole being to do it.

The first time he did, he felt the pain of transforming overbearing. Everything was hurting, every bone felt like it was breaking and when it was done all the things that make up his personality was momentarily forgotten. All he can think about on those prescious minutes was of something vicious. When he came through he had already transformed.

Viole felt his body readying. When it finally came to the point that he was about to black out he knew it was time.

Viole's body begun its process while he was on his feet running. His limbs got longer and thicker. The muscles protruded and wrapped around the right areas. With yellow eyes his whole face changed into something horrible looking like Eugene but at the same time nothing alike.

Reapers with age can truly transform into this monster. A look that trully personifies what they are, beings who are part living and death.

He saw them, the man Eugene standing on his human feet, and Charles laying his sorry bloody state on the ground.

Arriving and planning to take Eugene out immediately he went straight to him. Eugene though knew he was there. Viole saw his lopsided grin before he transformed to his bigger form in just seconds.

He felt the pressure passed through him when Eugene straightforwardly catches his punch. What Viole didn't anticipate was how powerful Eugene was. Cuts formed around Viole's thick skin blood splattering everywhere.

He roared.

Eugene was not only obnoxious but powerful.

Charles felt like he was floating in darkness. He couldn't feel his body nor couldn't he hear any sound.

Where was he?

Was he dead? But he knew he wasn't. Something might have happened and maybe he was fast asleep and was only dreaming.

He needed to get himself awake. The darkness was beginning to swallow him already, he wanted to get out.

With his will, he finally felt coming back. He gasped with the sudden onslaught of pain. He gurgled and spit blood. Everything was hurting he didn't know where to focus first. It felt like he was about to suffocate with the pain. He could only whimper as he tries his best to center himself away from the intense feeling.

A cold hand pressed on his forehead. He tried to open his eyes. He could only manage to half open them and while his left eye was already in a bad shape he can only make out a long hair and lips taught in a straight line a color of blood.

He wondered who she was.

He wanted to ask but all he managed was to whimper in pain.

====

Viole was bleeding. Though he managed to at least give back some hits to Eugene their power and strength vary so much that he can't do much to him. The blade on Eugene arms was lethal enough to slice through his thick skin. And when he let out a surge power towards Viole, all he could manage was avoiding it but had still gotten hit. He had dropped on the floor gasping.

His speed was greater than Eugene but it wasn't enough. He can only hold him and make Charles run away, but he was out cold. There was no way they can get out of this situation together.

"Viole," he had heard Irife, voice sounding grief. She was no longer shouting and shrieking inside his head. "Get Charles and get away from there."

Viole didn't say anything, he didn't need to, and she will not hear him anyway. If only she knew how much he wanted to do what she suggested and if only she realized earlier how futile this situation was.

Eugene was far more powerful because he was one of those Reapers who had survived and chose to side with their leader. His one of the long lived Reapers so many years of experience and growing his powers compared to him he was a newbie.

He saw him attacked, blurry than his size. He braced himself, its either he continue defending or he get himself killed in the process.

Then he saw her. A size so small compared to them, appearing in the center in thin air, her back to him, hair blowing in the wind.

And a roar so painful to hear roared along the place echoing in the whole building shuddering everything.

And it wasn't him.
