The sight before Ford was never something he considered a possibility. It wouldn't make sense for him to do so anyway. Who plans on having lunch with two walking corpses, snacking not on brains, but Pizza of all things. Finding it wasn't hard, they knew where it was instinctively, saying they had been in this place for a long time, but were still relieved the food hadn't been moved. They started eating closer to animals, taking huge bites, crunching mouths open, with food going everywhere on the table. (Truly the most horrifying thing in this book.) After awhile though, they seemed to calm down. They were still eating an immense amount though, despite now seeming sophisticated.

They were talking about things back and forth that Ford couldn't really wrap his head around. Maybe he was just hungry. Throughout all of this, Ford had not eaten anything, and as he began to, he realized the poor little bunny had died for no purpose. He seemed to not only be the only one, he realized that the monstrous eating wasn't from both of the Spring and Screwloose, but just Spring. Screwloose hadn't even gotten a plate together. There was plenty of food for one meal, he just wasn't interested. Ford then got his answer without even asking his question. It stopped him cold. "You know, you wouldn't be such a bother if you had gotten rid of some of your organs like me. We could be moving by now."

Ford shook a bit. Screwloose was missing complete organs, and had done it on purpose. "Even if you're already dead…" Ford began to ask the two. "That's gotta hurt, right?" Screwloose looked at Ford and smiled, losing almost all the impatience he had directed at Spring. "Oh don't tell me you've never heard of good ol zombies?" Ford's heart skipped a beat. Screwloose laughed out loud, slamming his fist against the already broken table as Ford's face got paler and paler. Even Chip, being only a little frog, was disturbed. He was the most normal thing Ford had besides the clothes on his back, so he was keeping Chip as nearby as he could, and that wasn't a problem for him at all. Eventually, Spring interrupted. "Alright, all done." He seemed a bit happier, but both he and Spring still made Ford ungodly scared at the thought of real zombies. "And a side note, I prefer my organs to be as close to where they're supposed to be as possible."

Spring got up as Screwloose began to pull himself together. "My my, I think I honestly spooked our little friend." He said as he offered his hand to Ford, who jumped in response. "Oh please, we're not gonna eat your brains, I don't even have to eat." He gave a smile as if he and Ford had known each other for a long time, but Ford was far from friends with these two, and far from trusting either of them. But he was intrigued by the notion of one corpse not needing to eat, and the other eating anything he can get his hands on. He was very sciency, even though you wouldn't be able to tell with his thought process in other situations. It was beaming out as if a beacon now though. "What… even are you then?" He asked gaining back a bit of his courage.

Screwloose smiled a toothy smile, taking notice to this light in Ford, a need to understand. "Not human, I'll tell you that. But your brain's safe." Begrudgingly, Ford got up and once again followed the two mascot covered crime scenes, after eating only a little of his food. He had more questions for the two, so many more. He only hoped he wouldn't be a cat to his curiosity. "Are… are you gonna call that Wolf back to us?" Screwloose seemed carefree with Ford, a feeling that was most definitely not mutual. "No no, there's no need right now. After all, where would the excitement be in that?"

"I thought we had things to do?" Spring asked a bit annoyed.

"Of course, of course, we have loads of things to do." Screwloose said. Then, he once again had an attitude change, seeming a bit more a boss of an employee than a friend. "But we go by my pace, not anyone else's, except when I say so." The golden bunny turned away from the green and held his hand out to Ford, his smile returning. "After all, what's wrong with a little fun if everything's turned in on time in the end, am I right kid?" Ford could tell what Screwloose was trying to say. He thought Ford was a slacker, which was far from true, and it kinda made him a bit mad. What Ford felt was a smart comeback soon left his mouth. "Your answers get messed up." Spring seemed tense, as if he expected something bad to happen, but all that came was his golden encrusted partner's laughter once again. "You're not wrong, not at all." He said in between laughs.

Again, Spring was extremely taken aback. "Which is why we should have you study." Screwloose proclaimed. The mood changed instantly. He grabbed Ford by the shoulder, nearly crushing the little frog resting on it, who pounced onto Ford's other shoulder, croaking insistently, trying to get his ride to move. "So you don't botch this up for us." With those words, he let Ford go, who was now panicking on the inside. He was still very much in danger.

Ford had made up his mind. NO ONE was trustworthy here, but these two were the best things he'd get. He just had to be careful, or it would be his life. Or this would be his life. He quickly got up and made sure his frog friend was okay. Thankfully, he was. Ford once again felt a strange relief, like an owner of a lost dog finally finding them after months of searching. But he then put the little creature back on top of his head, and began following the two monsters, who had already started walking somewhere else. They were his best bet right now, he would most certainly die without them.

"Now then, first lesson…" Ford's thoughts were interrupted by the very person who had just threatened his life. "What exactly are we?"
