“Junpei-senpai, who is that girl?”

Her peach-colored black hair was pulled into a side-tail, and her eyes were filled with suspicion as she stared at me.

Aoi Nishiyama, a junior who is one year younger than me, works at this family restaurant.

She is a newcomer who joined here two months ago.

The question was directed at me, but before I could even answer, Shiori-chan opened her mouth.

“I’m his girlfriend. We’re dating.”

As if to show me the proof, Shiori-chan pulls on my arm.

Nishiyama stood still for a moment as if time had stopped, and then her dark eyes swept from side to side.

“Heh, heh~, Junpei-senpai’s girlfriend… a girlfriend… Junpei-senpai’s girlfriend, huh.”

“Yes, or rather, we just got together today.”

“Is-that-so-? Con-gra-tula-tions-.”

“Are you okay? It sounds like your voice has lost its energy.”

“Aha, I’m fine. I’m fine really. It’s business as usual… Ah, Hongo-senpai. Can I leave early now?”

“Eh, n-no you can’t. We’re going to be busy from now on! It’s not like there are many people here today.”

Nishiyama blatantly lowered the tension diagonally, Nishiyama looked as if she had seen the end of the world.

In the midst of this strange atmosphere, Hongo-san got up from the sofa.

“Excuse me, ah, I’m going back to the kitchen.”

“Oh, yes. The manager broke a plate and looks like she’s about to cry, so please comfort her. Well, I’m the one who wants to cry.”

“E-Erm, let’s see… Oh, that’s right! Kitagawa-kun, take care of Ao-chan. I’ll leave you to it!”

“Hongo-san!?”

Hongo-san gave me a thumbs-up and ran off towards the kitchen.

Nishiyama stood there “Ahaha…”, laughing dryly… Is she really okay?

It’s too much of a burden to be left in charge of this… However, I can’t just leave her like this.

Fortunately, the store is empty at the moment, and I don’t think there’s any work coming in at the moment.

I looked at Nishiyama, smiled awkwardly, and suggested.

“Uh, well, for the time being, do you want to sit over there?”

“Ah, yes. I thought it would be too much trouble to stand up, so I’m glad you said that.”

Nishiyama sits down on the spot where Hongo-san was sitting a while ago. She rested her head at the sofa and looked at the ceiling. With her mouth hanging open, she was stunned.

While I was puzzled by this, Shiori-chan, who was sitting to my left, whispered to me.

“Do you see now? There’s a girl at your part-time job who likes Onii-san.”

“Eh, No… Nishiyama said she doesn’t think that way about me.”

“Do you really think so? Are you really going to be insensitive in the face of such a blatant reaction?”

“Ugh… Well, yeah, I guess so.”

It’s not hard to imagine that Nishiyama had more than a little affection for me when she showed such a blatant reaction.

It would be much easier if I could just be blunt like the protagonist of a romantic comedy, but Shiori-chan wouldn’t let me do that.

It was a good thing that I had Nishiyama sitting in the seat facing me, but what should I do now?

As I was puzzled over what to do, Shiori-chan announced with an amiable smile.

“I’m Shiori Minamino, Onii-san’s girlfriend. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Oh, hi, I’m Aoi Nishiyama… Eh? Onii-san? You’re Junpei-senpai’s younger sister!?”

The word “Onii-san” seemed to have caught on in Nishiyama’s brain sensors. No, of course she did.

If a girl who declared herself as my girlfriend called me Onii-san, anyone would be concerned.

“No, that’s not the case. We’re not related by blood, so please don’t worry.”

“Are you his stepsister…?”

“No, I’m not his stepsister.”

“Eh? Then why do you call her Onii-san?”

“Because it’s Onii-san’s hobby.”

“…Oh, you’re a pervert! Junpei-senpai, you’re super perverted!?”

Listening to the conversation between Shiori-chan and Nishiyama, she misunderstood the situation.

Nishiyama’s face turned bright red and she became flustered. I hurriedly got up from my seat and shouted out.

“T-That’s not it! You’re misunderstanding her!!”

Even though there were only a few customers, it was not the volume of voice I would have used inside the restaurant. There was a flicker of eyes gathering around me.

I bowed to the people around me and sat down on the sofa.

“Junpei-senpai, you’re making your girlfriend do a roleplay by calling you Onii-san… I didn’t know you were as bad as you looked…”

“I told you, you misunderstood her! Shiori-chan is a friend of my little sister. That’s why she’s always called me Onii-san. It’s just a remnant of the name that still remains after we got together.”

“Your little sister’s friend… Eh, so she’s still in middle school?”

“Oh, that’s right, but…”

She fluttered her eyelids and stared at Shiori-chan with a disturbed gaze.

She’s very mature for a middle school student. I’m not surprised if she mistook her for a high school student.

Nishiyama looked at Shiori-chan in silence for a while, and then, as if she had come to her senses, she put her hand on the table.

“Ah, so that’s why she has a small chest.”

“Huh~!?”

Shiori-chan raised her voice, which I had never heard before. She was still smiling, but her eyes were not smiling.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I lacked delicacy. I’m surprised though, Junpei-senpai, you used to say you liked big breasts… I guess tastes do change.”

Nishiyama reveals my preferences again without any hesitation.

The smile disappears from Shiori-chan’s face. Not long after, the lights disappeared from her eyes.

“Onii-san, I need to talk to you later.”

“…E-Erm, you’re frightening me, you know? Shiori-chan…”

Shiori-chan said in a cold tone of voice.

I felt a chill run down my spine.
