Forgotten One

Chapter 29 - Jade Cultivation Tower

Lei Shu woke up in his room. He got up and went to the marketplace in the sect. "I need to get more spiritual stones, hopefully, I can get some of better quality." Within the weekly rations, bag were 100 contribution points as well. Lei Shu went to the marketplace to look for some spiritual stones and also some weapons.

Lei Shu climbed up the jade steps and walked into the marketplace. There were stands for various things. Lei Shu could see medicine, clothing, armour, weapons, and spiritual stones among other things. He didn't really need any medicine at the moment. He already had some from his rations bag. He glanced by the medicine stand and looked away. Lei Shu was taking his time during his stroll, enjoying the scenery. The floor had a beautiful silk carpet and golden streaks of colour could be seen among the walls. He also saw Ansu in the corner of the room. He was talking to one of the merchants. His grey body still lurking in Lei Shu's thoughts.

Finally, Lei Shu found the weapons stand. There were currently 3 weapons on the platforms. One was a bow called, The Crescent Moon, the other weapon was a hammer, Heaven's Wrath, the last was a dagger with an extremely thin blade called, The Last Dance.

Lei Shu was fascinated by daggers and this one was simply brilliant. The blade was extremely thin, and it curled around unorthodoxly. It looked like a spiral at the end, the blade was a brilliant silver and it had a light red aura surrounding it. The hilt of the blade was marvelous. The hilt had a Red Gem in the center of the hilt, and it peaked out on both of the sides. It indicated that this weapon was a Spirit Weapon.

Spirit Weapons were weapons used by expert cultivators; they were weapons that had their own aura. Some auras would boost different attributes. The Red Gem Is a sole boost to power. The Bow has a Yellow Gem which indicates a boost to flexibility and The Hammer's Blue Gem is a boost to speed.

The hilt of the dagger had Black Lybaccus wrapped around it and golden patterns embroidered throughout. The price was 4500 contribution points. If he wanted to get that he would have to do Sect Missions to get more. He looked over at the spiritual stone stand. They had a great amount of low spiritual stones; they had a good amount of high spiritual stones, but they didn't have any crystals. He had enough to purchase only 1 stone. 1 low spiritual stone is worth 100 contribution points and 1 high spiritual stone is worth 500 contribution points. This is because low spiritual stones usually are at the low ends of their spiritual energy capacity. High spiritual stones are usually at the upper limit of their capacity.

He bought a low spiritual stone and took it back to his room. He started absorbing the energy, this stone had a greater amount than the others. By the time he was finished, it took him past the half-way point. He took a dip in the bath and cleaned himself. When he was walking back to his room, he heard that there was a gathering at the Flowering Peak in the Sect. Lei Shu saw more than a hundred disciples huddled around a huge jade crystal pillar. Elder Hansa and Ansu were standing between the crowd and the pillar. Elder Hansa's voice rang out, "Everybody, everybody, gather close. This is an announcement for the new disciples that have yet to complete an entire year in the sect."

Lei Shu hurried to the rest of them and kept his ears open.

"Ok, ok, now that everyone is here, I would like to announce the Jade Cultivation Tower. The rooms are filled with countless low-grade spiritual stones and the amount increases as you go higher in the tower. At the highest floors, you will be able to absorb high-grade spiritual stones, but those rooms are reserved only for the 10 core disciples. You may enter the rooms as you wish, however, if someone wants the room and someone else wants it as well, they will have to battle, the stronger will get the room. The rooms open up when the sun rises and close when the sun sets. There will be no killing in the tower, if you do so, you will be expelled from the sect forever!"

Elder Hansa stood aside and waved his hand. "Alright, everyone can enter as of now. The tower goes up all the way to the hundredth level and each floor had more than a handful of rooms."

Lei Shu looked up at the tower that peaked through the clouds. Just taking a look around at the world, everything was beautiful, it was breathtaking even. He took his time to appreciate the view and walk into the tower on his own time. Lei Shu was a man who would do what he wants, no matter other opinions. Some men even looked at him like he was a starstruck lunatic, a country bumpkin even.

The inside of the tower had a red hue to it. The shading created worked wonders with the bland surroundings. Each floor only had a few seats outside of each cultivation rule. Each room had a rule engraved, "You cannot stay longer than an hour in a row. Each hour must have an hour break in between. You can only go into the cultivation rooms for 6 hours a day maximum."

Lei Shu was reading it carefully, "This rule is great. It allows for the strong to become stronger, but it also allows for the weak to try and improve with enough time."

He walked into one of the rooms on the first floor. He could see the countless stones until his face bumped into someone's back. The burly old looking man spoke, "Hey get outta here, don't you know how to respect your elders. Let this Senior disciple here enter the room for you, I'll make sure there isn't anything dangerous hiding within."

The burly man was about to walk in, he was old and kind of looked like a caveman. A hand on his shoulder stopped him from moving, Lei Shu grabbed him and stopped his movements.

He spun the man around, "What do you think you're doing, I'm in the 5th stage and you're only in the 2nd, I know you paid to get in, with your abilities that would be your only hope."

Lei Shu was overflowing with his newfound power at the 3rd stage of Body Tempering. He never got to thoroughly test his power, so he was excited.

He spun the man and punched him directly in the c.h.e.s.t. The old man blocked the punch, but his arms were bruised. He was sent back into the cultivation room, Lei Shu followed him in.

Each floor had an inner disciple as a guard and the higher floors had Elders as guards. The guard looked over at the battle and looked back towards his book, battles were daily occurrences in the tower.

The old man followed up Lei Shu's punch with a kick immediately, he was obviously trained in combat, "Hey little boy, take 60% of my power, you only got me last time because I was caught off guard. I can't use too much power and kill a fellow disciple."

Lei Shu caught the man's kick in mid-air, the man's eyes shrunk, he didn't know what he was getting into. Lei Shu squeezed down and the man cried out.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaa

CRUNCH CRUNCH

Lei Shu crushed the man's ankles and dropped his pathetic body on the ground. The man tried to crawl out of the cultivation room, but Lei Shu pulled him back by his ankles. They were at the point of dangling now. Lei Shu went over to pick up a spirit stone, "Oh weren't these what you wanted old man? Huh, BOOMER?" He raised the stones and smashed them down on the man's wrists, shattering them in the process.

The old man was crying on the floor, he tried to move his body, but his limbs just didn't respond. His body spasmed every now and then, it was a hideous sight. Lei Shu sat in the room and closed the door, he left the old man writhing in pain on the floor. Lei Shu sat in the corner and started cultivating. He took his time between each stone and enjoyed watching the old man spasming uncontrollably. 30 minutes later the old man's body finally stopped spasming.

He was dancing on the brink of death, Lei Shu finally got up and carried the man outside. He walked all the way to the Hall of Healing and threw the old man onto the marble steps. He dragged the man all the way from the tower to the Hall of Healing by his ankles alone. The man had long since lost his consciousness.

Lei Shu stomped on his back and he gasped loudly. Lei Shu pulled his head up by his ear. "Remember, there's no killing in the sect and I'm sure you don't want to die. Do your best to crawl up these few stairs, they'll save you."

Lei Shu left the man on the stairs and walked away. He didn't even call anyone to notify them that there was a man on the brink of death on their steps. What a complete and utter savage. He walked back to his room and laid on his bed, thinking about Billa, he missed him a lot.

When Lei Shu woke up the next day, he examined his body and noticed something. His body cannot absorb too much energy at once. Although he could absorb more than others, he did have a limit. His body still had energy buzzing around here and there. He would have to wait a bit longer before he went back into the tower.

He decided to go check up on the mission's board. There was a board that they put up in the courtyard. This board had missions and the recommended cultivation base required to complete them. It also listed the reward amount. You would have to take down the mission and keep it with you until you complete the mission. You would have to bring the mission page and evidence of completion to the Sect Library.

Lei Shu was looking around at the different missions. He didn't want something that was too difficult at the start. He wanted to progress smoothly without too much danger. There was a mission for 100 contribution points, it was just gathering medicinal plants from The Jade Forest.

Lei Shu took the brown page down and read the inked words. It was a mission that required someone to collect 3 patches of White Parzellions. They're white with a bright yellow center. They can be used in anti-aging cream. "Woman and their appearances, why do nickels drown themselves with makeup think they're dimes."

He took a stroll all the way to the front of The Jade Forest. He was smiling already; he remembered the events that transpired here. He walked around the perimeter until he reached the sides.

In patches along the sides, White Parzellions would grow. It did take quite a bit of time to walk around the forest, but he finally took up one patch. He cut them by the center of their stems and put them in a basket he had bought from his room. He walked and walked and finally got the other 2 patches, he walked back to the Library at the other end of the Sect. The library looked like it was something from the future. The colours were different from everything else. The walls were silver, blue and light green. The building had many windows and the inside was completely wood. The outside and inside couldn't be any more different. Lei Shu pushed the doors open and his foot creaked on the wood. He walked up to the table and placed the basket along with the mission page on the table.

The old man woke up from his nap and kept his eyes closed as he mumbled, "The wind is old, but it keeps blowing, it may either give you hope or a headache."
