From Slave To Ruler

Chapter 23 - Diplomatic Madman

"You have the chance to back down from this, and accept that you are wrong." Whispered Athendurus as he was quaking on his Combat boots out of anger, a foot away from Tristan BlackBear, looking at each other eye to eye, rather unbreakable. Neither of them backed down from the stare off. Athendurus' pride was rather touched no doubt, taught his place by a Ground Tapper. It is no doubt hard to live down. "If you do i'll let you keep one of your hands." The fact that Athendurus was dead serious about cutting off Tristan's hand, shows that he is unworthy of this position. Ego has corrupted his heart too far, and from the looks of it, anger issues as well. You would think that older men are eventually smarter, but no.

"I'd like to see you wield that Sword against me. Old man." Although meaning well for Auica, this was a rather strong insult. Every individual commonly is s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e about his or her age, the older they grow. But now, Tristan saw Athendurus as an enemy. He wanted to hurt him, be it Through Verbal abuse or with a swing of a sword. He doesn't mind going too far now. He tried using reason towards Athendurus, but his self feeding egoism refused to reason. Tristan BlackBear is done being a diplomatic. Time to put his body and strength into use.

Out of a sudden, Athendurus Mihura pulled out his sword from the Scabbard he was carrying. The Sword, a true beauty. Of the finest quality and no doubt expensive. Although out of Iron, it shined enough to reflect the sun with ease. As if it was a mirror. The iron on it wasn't lumpy either. From the looks of it, this 80 cm Sword, is an enhanced Iron Sword, which in any domain of the Iron Boot Alliance, it would commonly cost around 500 Bronze Coins(5 Silver Coins), hey that's almost a Farmer's monthly salary(520 Bronze Coins). It's big coin.

Turning any normal Sword into an enhanced one, is achieved by adding more iron or silver to the sword after the finishing product.(As in, any normal individual can take a newly made, slightly used or used Sword to a Blacksmith, ask for it to be enhanced. And the blacksmith will simply add more iron. Which will make the sword more durable and slightly sharper and of course, heavier. There are enhanced Swords for sale as well.).

That reflection however, was also the Sword's weakness. At least in front of Tristan's eyes it was. Before pulling the Sword entirely out of the Scabbard, Athendurus jumped 2 feet back. Being that far behind is just enough to cut off a hand if not more. And it was Athendurus' aim after all. To teach "order" but it was also heavily based on his big ego, he does not like being called old unless it is to admire his experience in Swordsmanship. Not to forget, his methods were questioned a lot.

Even though Athendurus was wind breakingly fast, Tristan was even faster. Noticing the side attack coming near the left side of his waist, he simply lifted the Sword on his left hand up Swiftly, while still keeping the tip downwards(Because lifting the tip would be less effective and take too much time). Taking time to lift the tip, would lead to his hand being cut off entirely. There is no time to waste, especially against a Grandmaster.

Noticing that rather smart move, Athendurus felt baffled. "How can a slave who escaped from war be this agile, this quick thinking." He thought. While Athendurus was rattled on his own thoughts, he found himself flying after. Thankfully in one piece. He became lucky in a way. Any other person would use the opportunity to cut his head off and do the community a service.

How did Athendurus start flying? Well because Tristan didn't waste a Second. He dropped the other Sword of which he held in the right hand(apparently he chose two), bolted towards Athendurus' two handed grip, leaving him defenseless. He actually managed to grab both of Athendurus' hands, making his fine expensive Sword become utterly useless now.

Tristan dropped the Sword on his left hand as well now, tightened his grip on Athendurus' hands with his right hand and with little struggle he pulled the Sword from Athendurus hands. Everything just happened so fast. Athendurus was unfamiliar with these foreign moves. He didn't know how to defend himself. Especially from a Hand as big as his own head. He lifted Athendurus off of the Ground with the right hand(with Athendurus' Sword on his left hand), to the point where they were eye to eye, a foot apart from each other. "Oh my, my hands are still in tact. Foolish me, I must be doing it wrong." Mocked Tristan. How courageous could he be?He didn't hesitate to disarm a Grand Master, and now he even continued to mock him. Astounding!

"Doing what wrong?" This question wasn't of course because he cared of Tristan's Answer. He noticed that it is sarcasm and or mockery. It was just to buy himself time. To observe the situation a bit more, to estimate Tristan's overall strength and possibly find a weakness.

"Boot Kissing." Replied Tristan BlackBear, with his common thick tone becoming even thicker. Athendurus however didn't have to observe anymore. Not because he was ready to launch a counter attack, no. But because he was tossed 20 feet far above the ground, got tossed 20 feet away. But somehow, the GrandMaster was able to maneuver himself enough on mid air to land on his own two feet. Even though he feared Tristan's strength to begin with, he still underestimated Tristan. He didn't expect such agility and quick thinking due to his size.

"Here. Try not to embarrass yourself further more. "Grand Master(he air poked)." Throwing Athendurus' Sword towards him, which got nailed into the ground halfway rather easily, a couple of feet near Athendurus even. If anyone stood in front of the Sword while it was in mid air, the results would end up in fatality. But luckily it didn't hit anyone, this time.

The Ground Tappers in the training yard all turned their attention towards Tristan. Although most would be afraid to face him alone, they felt more comfortable as a group. Making careful steps as they were approaching from each side(Inigo as well. Since the teacher liked him to begin with. He sees every Bear Blood in his group as an enemy after all, but the rest of the BearBloods, simply walked back. They didn't want to fight Tristan. They all knew he was right). Tristan still has Two Swords he can toss after all, which is why everyone around him approached Carefully. And based on his strength, he would rather hurt a lot of people if he tossed those Swords towards them.

Seeing everyone approaching, with clear intention to fight him. He just gently bent down and grabbed his swords. Raised them upwards, slightly pointing narrowly on both sides. Apparently he just wanted to place them far from his feet while assuring the approachers from the left to the right that he isn't armless. Swiftly moving his legs far away from each other and squatting a bit downward. It was rather interesting to see. Bacada Theras saw this move before, he recognized it right away. So he tapped Auica on the shoulder and gestured for her to back away. Noticing that Bacada meant well, she only hesitated for a little bit before she agreed to his suggestion.

Aaron James who already dashed 30 feet away from the Battle zone(without anyone in general telling him too), thought "Is this guy doing a sumo squat?" While through other thoughts, he kept questioning how these puny Guards kept this man contained. He looks like he can chew his way through the dirt and rocks, escaping the mines.

While still squatting, Tristan lifted his left leg up a foot high, and strongly bashed it against the ground, which shook everyone in the left side but it only knocked a couple off of their feet, but still it was enough to buy himself time through the confusion. Somehow, it felt like this isn't the final move. No no, it wasn't. He afterwards lifted his right foot upwards and smashed it against the ground, which of course shook everyone from the left side. But this of course was just to buy himself some time, worth noting that it is also part of the power move. It can't be completed without this less effective procedure.

Seeing everyone confused and some no doubt scared. He yelled, "Taste my Hind Quake Boot kissers." While he was still squatting, he jumped high using both of his feet, of course. While Tristan was on mid air(2 feet above the ground), Athendurus expected the worst. He quickly took 3 steps backwards to get as far away from Tristan as possible. Because even though he wasn't Tristan's only target. He still poses a big threat to everyone. Possibly in a large radius.

When Tristan reached the ground, disaster followed. The ground started shaking soul tremblingly hard. Sprained ankles were only the lightest injuries. Many accidentally cut themselves with their own Swords when they fell. Everyone in a 40 feet radius, got knocked off of their feet. Including Athendurus, but he was quick enough to hold himself up with his hands, enough to not faceplant on the ground.

The powermove, didn't just unleash a shake. Another effect was the pushing force. The moment it reached any individual's feet, to them it would feel like a wild boar just bashed through their ankles and knees, forcing their faces to meet the ground. With this power move, how can anyone even approach him?
