From Slave To Ruler

Chapter 27 - Diplomatic Madman(2)

After Tristan BlackBear unleashed that devastating blow against everyone who opposed him, over 30 men on that Training Yard fled the scene, most of which were Ground Tappers. Some even had both ankles sprained, so they had to crawl away while a lot rushed to care for their light to medium cuts before they lost too much blood.

Such a powerful Warrior, opposing so many people and winning without breaking a sweat. This fight will work to the Arena's advantage if most decide to not attack him. The word of mouth is so strong in these times, the word about a BearBlood going berserk against an Arena official, will spread wilder than a forest fire.

"My God. I'm able to do that?" Murmured Aaron James to himself, as he struggled to stand on his own two feet. Let's just say... the distance he took wasn't enough to escape the Hind Quake's Radius.

Indirectly admiring Tristan's power, Aaron felt a little bit envious. He has no idea how to unleash that power move, likely doesn't even meet his skill level. If he mastered such move, he can oppose a Platoon of Soldiers easily(A platoon of Soldiers includes 100 men. But can go above 100 as well, as far as 150. If the Platoon reaches 151 men, the 51 get separated from the 100 and form another platoon. It's a good way to keep order.).

Athendurus Mihura however, escaped unscaved(unless fisting the ground is considered an injury). As soon as he raised his head up, he saw Tristan using the confusion and fear which sunk down in these people's hearts to his advantage.

Without waiting for them to orientate themselves, he started running towards Athendurus with his meter long Swords raised upfront. It's hard enough to appropriately wield a meter long Sword with two hands, but he was wielding two of them with ease.

The ground beneath Tristan Black Bear's feet shook each time he stepped on the ground while he was running. Making every Arena Warrior who still actually has the guts to face this man, reconsider their choices.

Athendurus however, was straight on his feet, he couldn't afford to waste a second with such swift, big and powerful opponent. Getting a taste of the Hind Quaker gave him ideas on how to avoid it next time. He felt it possible that the finishing move can't be done without Tristan unleashing a minor quake from the left side then the right. If he tried to unleash the Hind Quaker again, Athendurus will need to attack before the finishing move. Because, the Radius of the finishing move reaches too far, and its effect inevitable even by a Grand Master, it approaches as fast as the wind once unleashed.

Digging his feet tightly against the ground, with his 80 cm long enhanced Iron Sword upfront in a battle ready pose. Athendurus was awaiting for Tristan, analyzing his moves closely, trying to predict his attack. And from the looks of it, he is done being sneaky and swift. He is going in for a dual wielded attack with no aims of shielding himself.

Throughout experience, Athendurus remembered that dual wielding opponents usually aren't skilled enough to move the swords in different directions, the movements are often parallel or one Sword always follows the other. So unless Tristan is above level 4 in Swordsmanship, his attacks won't be so complex. They will be easy to fight off, avoid and counter attack. For Athendurus at least.

"If I only knew his skill level in Swordsmanship before he started speaking out of order." He thought to himself, but was still confident in his own skills. Tristan's approach seemed too simple after all.

"The best move against this large fool would be to evade and attack. The first swing he will take will lead to his fall." He plotted the next move as he carefully observed Tristan's approach. It was a great attack against such a physically powerful opponent.

If Athendurus tried to fight off two parallel moving Swords from Tristan with an 80 cm Sword, it would just end up to a broken Sword, broken wrists and possibly even death if Tristan is ruthless enough to kill a falling opponent. So the idea was to avoid Tristan's swing and cut his waist as soon as he swung his swords towards any direction, using the split second to his advantage to cause a swift devastating blow.

But yet again, he underestimated(you would think he would know better by now). When Tristan Black Bear was about 20 feet away from Athendurus, he nailed his left leg on the ground, jumped 3 feet off the ground and met the ground 5 feet after and smashed the tips of his Swords against the ground at a 45° Angle.

Such an unexpected move, got Athendurus' eyes widened up in surprise. It killed all of his calculations and stabbed his plans. If the plans failing before even being put to test wasn't bad enough for Athendurus' overall courage and self dependence, the effects of the movements weren't predictable. Athendurus never fought a Bear Blood before. He doesn't know what to expect and his 40 years of experience in Swordsmanship feel useless at this point.

Of course, right after Tristan Black Bear smashed his Swords against the ground, the Earth started shaking. But this time it didn't affect everyone. The one and only target was Athendurus Mihura, the Great teacher. There was only one target since the rest don't have the courage and the skill to oppose Tristan any further.

Starting from Tristan's current position, the Earth started shaking in a singular line. This power move is very similar to the Earth Slapper. The shake starts light at first, continues to shake the ground lightly in a singular straight line. And at the end, well it has a different devastating result(for the enemy at least).

When the Quake reached Athendurus, the ground around him in a 2 foot circular Radius arose 4 inch above the ground faster than a blink of an eye, the Circle was so well shaped that you would think a modern day man designed this move. But the point is, it gave Athendurus no other choice but to become airborne once more, but this time with less controllable results.

Since Athendurus isn't the heaviest, it wasn't too difficult to raise him high above the ground. Flying 30 feet above the ground, he tried to balance himself mid air even at such circ.u.mstances. But luck wasn't by his side in this glorious day. He was doomed to face the ground with his back. The embarrassment and expenses he could have avoided if he stopped feeding his egoism and agreed with Tristan, are rather large as you can see by yourself.

Looking at such a ground shaking force while she herself was seated on a bench watching the show. At first she wanted to help him just because he stood up for her. But Tristan was handling himself more than fine, and throughout this Havoc, she still decided to listen to Arthur's advice and stay out of trouble. But that didn't stop her thoughts. Auica thought to herself. "What is the true meaning behind this? Why did this man who barely knows me or Athendurus, stand up for me and cause such havoc. It can't be just because he hates s.e.xists. Even love at first sight can't go that far. There must be more to it!"

Athendurus however, flew for a bit before he crashed through a Bar's roof and landed on a solid wooden plank table. Surprisingly with a few cuts and bruises summing up his overall damage intake. How can one small man withstand so much damage, it's like he didn't age at all. It's like he is still at his 20s where the body is at pique physical form.
