From Slave To Ruler

Chapter 40 - Unprofessional!

Midnight broke a moment ago, Zehra Flint started to grow wildly impatient. The reason behind her hard boiling inner rage? Well, The special man who was supposed to be here half an hour before midnight, failed to arrive in time. Its almost half an hour past midnight now and the man she was waiting for wasn't in sight. Now when I say special man, I'm not talking about one she would have a fancy for. No no, I'm talking about an Assassin, well two actually.

Although, it wouldn't be odd either if she met a man she fancied. She is a 39 year old single woman. At this rate, it wouldn't even be a surprise if they met at midnight. She never even dated anyone in her life. She might seem okay about that strong fact, even claims that she is okay. But hey, everyone needs love. "Books over men." Is what she always said, but now she partially regrets it. Partially!

But getting back to the point. A couple of assassins were supposed to be here. They have no restrictions since they are free men, they can leave or enter the Arena whenever they please, which makes the fact that one is very late and one is almost late, inexcusable.

Today they even chose to leave at 6 p.m. specifically because of this meeting. Since both of these believers technically don't have homes, it means that they will have to sleep on the streets after the meeting. They have no way of entering the Arena after 10:30 p.m.. They entered the Arena willingly, since they didn't yet qualify to be Zamerian soldiers. Taking the Arena as a tool for fame and power. And although they can't be considered official assassins yet, they can still do a lot of damage, especially when it comes to spreading banter enough to start a fight between two people.

According to plan, one was supposed to come half an hour before midnight, and the other half an hour past midnight. That way, Zehra Flint could arrange different tasks for them. Because if there is havoc happening from two or more sources in the training yard, it would be rather difficult to find who caused the havoc. But what did it result too? One being late and one almost being late.

Finally, she saw both of them approaching together, bantering their way here. Although they train at the same Arena training yard, Zehra ordered them to act like total strangers towards each other. Obviously that didn't work. "So unprofessional!" She complained to herself with a storm of anger rising in her mind. She wanted to slap them both but feared what it would result to, since she ordered to meet the men alone and dismissed the Zamerian guards. Her meeting spot, an abandoned house of course. She can't have assassins meet at the local Zamerian Chapel. There are too many prying eyes around.

Their level of unprofessionalism? Well, they even forgot which house to stop by. Lost in their chit chat. Lucky for them, Zehra reminded them. Grabbed them from a dark spot and threw them against the abandoned house's wooden plank flooring. Apparently she can become strong when she is wildly pissed off!

"Are you two insane?" She criticized them with a loud whisper. I mean how loud would a whisper get? Ask the two assassins. They had to cover their ears. "I told you to move with the shadows, not in the middle of the moonlight. Morons!"

"I..."

One of the assassins tried to reply, but Zehra had a lot more to say. "Both of you didn't even follow your scheduled meeting time. Do you want the goddamn gold or don't you?!"

At this point, the two "assassins" were left at a loss for words no matter how much they hated her way of expression. The gold was more important than dragging this woman through the streets in two and then themselves disappearing through the night to avoid Zamerian torture.

Taking a deep breath and letting out a strong sigh, her anger flowed out with it. Luckily she could take her rage under control rather quickly. "Forget about that, let's move on to business."

But clearly unexpectedly, one of the Assassins uttered out a rather devious sound. "I most certainly agree."

The house was dark, there wasn't a torch in sight and the only source of light here was the moonlight shining through the cracked wooden window, people even stole the impure glass from it. Because of the strong darkness, she didn't see the second assassin already standing up from the floor and tip toeing his way behind her. I suppose these two aren't as unprofessional as we thought.

BAM!

She felt a heavy slender piece of wood hitting the back of her head, she could recognize that it was wood because of the sound it made upon impact. Her knowledge here however didn't prove useful. She inevitably fell unconscious without even having the chance to call for help.

"That should be a good payback for yelling at us!" Whispered one assassin, clearly a bit hurt of her behaviour. But an assassin being hurt from words? Simply unprofessional (Don't tell him I said that).

"Whore!" Yelled the second assassin as he kicked her stomach. Apparently he didn't like her tone either.

But putting those hurt feelings behind him, one of the assassins decided to continue with the task they were given, from a different employer. "Quick get the bag!" But he was still a little bit confused.

Luckily, the other assassin was well oriented. "I got the bag man! You are supposed to put ropes on her first! Don't forget to tie her mouth." At this point, they have clearly beat her into submission, and could use this situation to feed l.u.s.t. However, they didn't plan to do such a thing. Their l.u.s.t, is gold!

"Right sorry! I'm not used to kidnapping, i'm used to murder."
