From Slave To Ruler

Chapter 5 - Earth Slapper

Weighing his options, he saw only one possible way out of this situation, running like hell. If he stands still, he will be caught and be possibly strangled to death by the Guards, the chances of being stabbed or cut aren't slim either, chances of him fainting because of Whippers constantly striking him are large as well.

And that would even be considered the lightest punishment if he was caught. If he tried to take all of them alone, he would fail miserably even though he isn't exactly considered physically weak in this new body unlike his former one where an average wind would cause him balance trouble.

In this new body, he comes from a bloodline which his powers are primarily based on one's physical strength, powers solely based on Bears. One of the toughest creatures evolution brought upon us. But no matter how strong he was, facing against several Patrol Guards armed to the teeth with weapons and armor, he would meet a foul end. But yet again, it would be dumb if he didn't try to at least buy himself some time with a strike from a appropriate distance and make a run for it. In fact it is a terrific idea.

Before he made a run for it, he injured the Whipper who struck him once more for an enhanced revenge. However he did not hurt him enough to kill him on the spot, because if he would get caught, the chances of these slavers sparing him are next to none. It was a quick thinking situation he found himself into, so injuring the Whipper furthermore would at least stop one of the people chasing after him to aid the injured Whipper, since their Value isn't exactly small. Not everyone would try to make a living out of the suffering of others.

From what Aaron James heard the first few minutes when he reincarnated, while laying under the boulder he heard that the head Whipper is paid 40 Silver Coins a month. A normal Whipper is undoubtedly paid less but a good salary is very likely. Of course he has no idea about the financial situation in this world which he arrived less than two hours ago, but judging from the Head Whipper's tone when he described the price of the female slaves to his salary, it certainly sounded a lot. 4 Gold Coins would be considered 10 Head Whipper Salaries. It is no doubt a big amount. And when Aaron didn't think about the hate he had for this world in particular, he based that salary to form a more stable assumption of the economical situation here.

Thankfully Aaron James' overall mindset, especially perception didn't change along with this new body which gave him the ability to think of a goodish plan in mere seconds if he found himself in situations like this. Agile enough he used part of the plans he thought of ever since he entered the mine to enhance his most recent plan, scratching away a majority of the old ones from his mind.

When you think about it, he is considerably a superior minded individual way ahead of time compared to pretty much every other individual in this 400,000 people Country(Kasterema) or possibly compared to everyone in Listonar(Continent) and it's islands.

Trying his best to recall what his technically new brain remembers about Earthquake training, while he was running away from the Whippers and Patrol Guards, he remembered the most basic Power move that every Earthquaker learns first (If he or she has powers of course). "The Earth Slapper!".

Although the name no doubt funny, it can buy him time in this situation without risking his own life due to a cave collapse. Although he never stepped in a mine before this one, he noticed that the support beams holding the cave ceiling up, aren't enough in number to handle even the smallest Earthquake. There is a support beam every 7-10 meters instead of 5 or less. Apart from all of  that, their distances are poorly measured. Granting more instability here and less stability there, or the other way around. The little amount of Coins the King invested here compared to how much they get out of this mine is ridiculous. Besides, what King would be dumb enough to risk loosing more Miners with underpopulation as one or the Iron Boot Alliance's main problem. It is nothing but a fool's play.

The "Earth Slapper" however, is a power move where the individual EarthQuaker jumps as high as he or she can, using the aid of the arms and hands to raise the legs as high as possible(To the point of curling in mid air) and right before hitting the ground, the legs should be straightened like a plank to increase impact, overall finishing the power move successfully with that positioning.

The power move, would unleash an Earthquake which heads in a straight forward line with minor shaking along the way, and when it practically reaches the end of it's distance capacity, it shakes the ground heavily in a 10 feet radius. As levels increase, the shake gets more violent and the distance the move can reach increases as well, but the radius doesn't expand no matter if the Individual is level 1 or 7. A rather unique move, don't you think?

Trying hard to recall what level he is, he couldn't manage to reach the information he needed so desperately to calculate more precisely from where he should attack instead of leaving it to luck. He didn't remember what distance each level can offer, but he remembered what distance the first and last level can reach. Rather odd.

Naturally if an individual was level 7 at the "EarthQuaker" powers or any at all, he or she would remember such details about each or at least most power move due to a long experience with them. He couldn't recall anything but the first level reaching a distance of 15 feet before leaving the final violent shake and the seventh level reaching a distance of 50 feet before unleashing the final devastating blow. So logically, he figured that he is a Level 1 EarthQuaker which was rather weird considering that he got a piece of memory, declaring he is 22. Rather uncalled for information based on this situation, but it didn't help with his self trust. His former body owner probably didn't practice his powers enough, or at all!

Being about 30 feet away from the crowd chasing him, he stopped on his spot, turned around, faced them and attempted the move. By jumping as high as he could, trying to mimic the move from what information he could see in his mind, he succeeded just in time. When he "Slapped" the earth, some of the Patrol Guards couldn't help but mock and laugh while the Whippers probably laughed or kept a dead serious face. They were wearing masks so it wasn't exactly possible to see their reactions.

A minor shake started off which caused dust to fall from the ceiling of the cave along with a rock as big as half a finger which softly landed in front of his feet as he glanced more dust falling from the cave's ceiling each moment the "Earth Slapper" power move was reaching closer towards the opponents, making it hard for the crowd running towards him to clearly see the Slave(Aaron James) opposing them which would give him a small advantage while escaping if the Earth Slapper fails to completely stop them.

At this point, anything that would help him escape should be used. Slight disobedience would result into receiving wh.i.p.s on the back. Hitting a Whipper with a pickaxe would leave nothing for the Patrol Guards and Whippers to resist killing Aaron, so being caught isn't an option.

Afterwards, what struck the opponents was certainly something they didn't expect. Taking no more than a second, which to Aaron felt like hours, the power move reached the opponents just before the Earth Slapper lost it's distance capacity.

Considering the opponents were running with all their might, the shake made them lose balance completely and fall on the ground with some Patrol Guards either accidentally cutting themselves or others from their group, leaving them defenceless towards the aftermath of unleashing an Earth Slapper in a poorly supported cave/tunnel.

Starting off with bits of dust falling from the ceiling at the final blow radius, to fist like rocks hitting their heads, to a crushing and or suffocating result of which it seemed like the whole cave collapsed at the moment. The ceiling of the cave/tunnel fell all over the Patrol Guards and Whippers, preventing them from moving, slowly killing them, and even almost taking Aaron James as a victim. Which would be ironic. The whole thing happened in a blink of an eye, no matter how fast and or strong these opponents were, they wouldn't be able to simply escape this situation unscaved.

Seeing his situation becoming a lot easier, Aaron kept running down the cave until he found a sharp turn where like a doorway connected to the second branch of the cave, helped to aid his escape instead of meeting a dead end. This doorway didn't collapse easily because it surprisingly has two sets of support beams. One from the side of the third branch(The Branch of which the tunnel collapse happened), and one from the side of the second Branch, giving a rather firm hold which worked to his advantage, because if that door wasn't there to aid his escape, he would be trapped here.

Now every person in the mines and some possibly outside of the mines, heard the seemingly 20-30 foot long tunnel collapse. People will come to analyze the situation in a matter of seconds and when they see a slave without a 25kg iron ball running like his life depended on it(Because it does), he would be their first target.

But like another barricade to his escape, he has seemed to have caused a collapse to the second branch as well, making it impossible to pass this tunnel by simply running forward. His only option is the first branch.
