Chapter 7 Bent-footed Laris

“The kingdom is not at war, and my father is still negotiating.”

Rhaenyra lost her smile and rebutted the old woman's harsh words.

Another old woman spoke: "Although the king refuses to admit it, the war has begun, and it is all because of your uncle and the sea serpent."

“How have you served your country lately, Mrs. Redwin?”

Rhaenyra completely lost her patience. She glanced disdainfully at the pug eating biscuits in the other person's arms and asked, "Do you rely on biscuits?"

The naked sarcasm was spoken, and the scene fell into silence.

 Fell into silence.

Suddenly, an uncontrollable laughter sounded, which was particularly harsh in the quiet atmosphere.

Mrs. Redwine had an ugly expression on her face. She looked at the silver-haired boy who was trying to suppress his laughter and said in a deep voice, "Your Highness, is this the prince?"

Rhaenyra didn't bother to pay attention to him, turned around and left.

Leave this old woman with a cool back view.

Rhaegar couldn't suppress his smile. He stood in front of these ladies and introduced them generously: "My name is Rhaegar, Rhaegar Targaryen!"

“Viserys I is my father and I am his eldest son.”

As he said that, he looked at Mrs. Redwin and asked, "Forgive me for being frail and sick since I was a child and rarely appearing in front of others. I wonder if Mrs. Biscuit has any impression of my name?"

Once again someone couldn’t hold back his laughter.

Rhaegar turned his head and saw a thin man with brown curly hair.

The man was surprisingly sitting among the women.

It is also a gathering point for a group of long-tongued women.

The other person was holding a cane in his hand. Rhaegar looked down and found a strange shoe.

ˆ is a disabled person with a single leg deformity.

Feeling the look in his eyes, the man nodded politely and introduced himself: "Laris Strong, say hello to His Highness the Prince."

Rhaegar responded with courtesy and asked curiously: "Who are you, Lord Leonor?"

“He is my father, and I am his younger son.”

Laris shrunk his deformed foot and answered the prince's question.

“Your father is a good minister that everyone knows.”

With a simple courtesy, Rhaegar stopped paying attention and turned his attention to Mrs. Redwine again.

“The Three Female Kingdoms invaded the kingdom’s territory, plundered the passing ships, and sold the people who were loyal to my father.”

"My uncle Daemon did start the war privately, but he did it to protect his brother's kingdom and fulfill the responsibilities of a Targaryen prince."

Rhaegar paused briefly, glanced at Mrs. Gilla who spoke first, and said righteously:

“It was not that we initiated the war, but that the Three Women’s Kingdom went too far and challenged the authority of Targaryen rule.”

“I believe it won’t be long before my father will make up his mind, bear the doubt of participating in the war, and send troops to defeat the crab-feeding foreign invader.”

“Furthermore, the king and ministers are doing their best to manage the affairs of the kingdom, so there is no need for this biscuit-loving lady to worry.”

The impassioned speech came to an end, and Rhaegar focused on Mrs. Redwyne, who was holding her pug.

  Deepen her bond with cookies.

After hearing what he said, the expressions of the noble ladies who had just crowded around Rhaenyra changed again and again.

It seemed like someone had slapped me in the face in public.

Allison stared at him in surprise, as if meeting him for the first time.

No one would have thought that a 6-year-old child could say such a thing.

Lady Redwin, in particular, was deeply humiliated.

But I don’t know how to defend myself.

“Queen Allison, you should discipline the king’s children.”

Throwing the pug on the ground, he picked up his skirt stained with biscuit crumbs and left angrily.

He was still muttering curses.

“Haha, it seems that my speech is too immature and cannot resonate with you.”

Rhaegar kept smiling, caressing his slightly panting chest, raised his hand and bowed before leaving.

I don’t have time to chat with a bunch of short-sighted, long-tongued women.

He has to go find his sister.

Adolescent girls who are insecure are easily sentimental.

 Need his comfort.

Shortly after walking out of the camp, there were uncoordinated footsteps behind him.

Rhaegar turned around and saw Laris holding a cane.

“Sir Larisse, don’t you also like the gossip of ladies?”

Rhaegar said in confusion.

Laris said implicitly: "No, I like to hear all kinds of news."

"That is?"

Rhaegar looked at him strangely.

Laris bent down, lowering Rega's field of vision as much as possible, and smiled a bit flatteringly: "I came here specially to see you, Your Highness." Rega nodded and motioned for him to continue.

Laris said: "I heard that the king's eldest son, the prince, you have been living in the palace because of your health?"

“Yes, my mother had a difficult time giving birth to me, and I was in danger of dying at any time before I was 6 years old.”

Rhaegar was outspoken and wanted to see what he could do.

“Thank you to the Seven Gods. Even if you are frail and sick, your amazing talents cannot be hidden. You are really lucky for the kingdom.”

 Laris's exaggerated praise.

Rhaegar gradually became impatient and said calmly: "In the years when there is no running and playing, just read more books."

“Oh, what books does Your Highness like?”

“Some history books, reading history can make people wise and learn from the experiences of their ancestors.”

Rhaegar lost interest in conversation and said politely: "History reminds future generations to protect their honor and stay away from people with ulterior motives."

 Then he turned and left.

Laris leaned on his cane and looked at his back with a smile, his eyes meaningful.

“An interesting little prince, the waves are coming one after another, but it’s not time to go ashore yet.”

 …

Farewell to the bad boy without saying goodbye, Rhaegar continued to look for his sister.

After searching for a long time, no one was seen.

This made him wonder whether the blow was too great. Rhaenyra hid in a corner and secretly dropped the pearl alone.

"His Royal Highness Prince."

Walking between the bonfire and the fruit plate, a steady voice stopped him.

Rhaegar looked around and saw a white knight wearing silver armor and white robes.

Under the helmet is a ponytail, thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a thick beard.

He has seen the face of this white knight.

And you can see two at a time.

There are a pair of twin brothers in the king's Kingsguard.

 Brother Ilik Kagel.

 Brother Alec Kagel.

The two brothers were elected to the Kingsguard together because of their extraordinary abilities and righteous hearts.

“Sir Ilic, do you have something to do with me?”

Rega was holding a bunch of red grapes and looked at the other person curiously.

Being called by his name accurately, Ilic was slightly startled and seemed a little flattered.

He is so similar to his younger brother Alec that except for people who have been together for many years, few people can tell the difference between the two brothers.

It is also common to call someone by the wrong name.

Elic took a few steps forward and saluted respectfully: "The king is looking for you."

 “Okay, lead the way.”

Rhaegar was very cooperative. Ilic hesitated slightly and reminded: "Your Highness, the king and the princess just had a quarrel, and they were not in a good mood."

 “Quarrel? What’s the reason?”

Ignore the problem of Rhaenyra returning to the camp and her journey in vain.

Rhaegar first looked for the cause of the quarrel.

“I dare not say anything more about the princess’s marriage.”

Ilik acted openly and aboveboard and did not want to talk too much about the family affairs of the king and his daughter.

However, one person was mentioned on his own initiative.

 Jason Lannister.

Duke of the Westerlands, Lord of Casterly Rock, Warden of the Westerlands…

In short, a lot of messy nicknames.

Rhaegar didn’t react for a moment.

It was only after Ilic reminded me that I figured out the situation.

This guy is Tyran Lannister's biological brother.

The contemporary leader of House Lannister.

The cause was Jason Lannister's private courtship of Rhaenyra.

And he has a arrogant attitude, thinks highly of himself, and openly covets beauty and power.

Rhaenyra has no regard for such a peacock-like fool.

  Potentially declined the other party.

After returning to the camp, she responded to Jason Lannister’s behavior and resisted Viserys’ manipulation of her marriage.

Then…

It is naturally a popular family education.

The debate ended with Viserys furious and Rhaenyra in tears.
