Game-To-Death: Utopia

Chapter 5 - Phase 5: Party Members and a Quest!

"Hmmm…? What's this?"

In Marie's sight, a new '!' prompt had appeared and floated conspicuously in front of her. Her finger dangled in the air and touched the sign cautiously. Then, a gasp escaped her lips.

"Oh, hubby! I've got a Status Window in front of me. It's so fascinating!" Marie pulled on Kent's arms and tried to show him the window.

Kent chuckled at his wife's antics and answered, "Of course, darling. Although it wasn't as much as I hope it would be, my stats became visible after I consumed the flower too. I won't be able to see yours though. For now, let's just get the main stats straight. What's your Attack, Defence and Health? Mine's 15-18, 10 and 98/98 respectively."

Ally's eyes widened in admiration when she heard his words. That's much higher than hers! She made the right call to jump over and join them. Marie looked at the two pair of expectant eyes in front of her and said sheepishly, "Attack 5-8, Defence 5 and Health 102/102. I've also gotten an affinity with 'Herbs and Medicine'."

"Wow! As expected of my wife! I haven't unlocked any affinity yet. What about you, Ally?"

"Err…Attack 9-12, Defence…7 and Health 88/88. I've also got an affinity with 'Nature' that boosted my stats. And, I've learnt a unique skill named "Bind" from a Skill Book that dropped after killing that zombie."

The boost in her stats after unlocking just 38% of her affinity with nature had made her elated. However, it was still not enough. As expected, the prolonged use of the game capsule and her trauma had caused irreversible effects on her physical body.

Trring!

Conditions have been met for activating the Quest: Would you accept it? Yes/No

The three of them received the same notification at the same time. Turning to look at one another, they each shared mutual understanding that this is probably a with a minimum requirement of players participating.

"What do you think? Should we accept the quest?" Kent turned to look at Ally in reflex. Being her neighbour for a few years, he of course knew about her prowess in game and the old couple had even joined her in eliminating monsters and completing quests as a past time leisure.

Being treated as the de facto leader of the small party so naturally, Ally felt the burden of her responsibility weighing upon her shoulders. Or maybe, that's just her cat. She sighed inwardly. Whatever, she'll just treat it as another quest in game. That'll ease her mind and put her in the right mindset, and probably the only way to keep her from having a nervous breakdown.

"Honestly, I think this is a great opportunity for us to gain some real fighting experience as well as collect rewards that might aid us in surviving later on. I've gotten two Artefacts and a Skill Book just from killing a zombie. I reckon a Quest would give us more, especially since this Apocalypse Game had just started. We should just accept it." Ally's eyes shone in determination as she thought of the various items that she could get. This quest is like a pie falling from the sky for them.

The three of them reached an agreement and accepted the quest together. After that, a new prompt appeared: Two other Players have accepted the quest. Would you like to activate the Party Members function? If you select 'Yes', you will be able to share your status info with one another and be notified of each other's current position at all times.

'Yes' The trio chose the affirmative without hesitation. It would be much safer and more convenient to look after one another if they are in a Party. Following that, they no longer receive notifications separately. A huge screen pops-up in front of them, showing their quest details.

In this building, there are dungeons that are set-up in order to test your courage, strength and resilience. Your party has discovered two of them: 'Rooftop Garden' and 'Zombie Lair'. Many of the other occupants in the building have fallen prey to the dungeons since the Apocalypse and only by conquering the dungeons will you have a chance to save them.

Difficulty level: * * *

Requirements: A minimum of 2 Players are required to challenge each dungeon. Only Dungeons with a completion rate over 90% will be considered Clear.

1) Rooftop Garden (Completion Rate – 0%)

2) Zombie Lair (Completion Rate – 0%)

Good Luck and Godspeed, Players.
