Hurriedly entering the viewing room Achara was in and closing the door behind him, Xavier collapsed to his knees and pulled down his mask before it all started to come out.

Blurgh!

Vomiting out a curdle of blood, Xavier vomited uncontrollably and Achara worriedly rushed to his side, and didn't know how to react.

Just as she was about to call for medical attention, he stopped her and reassured her he was fine.

And in truth, he wasn't confident that he was and after all the blows he had endured; he was sure he had suffered grave internal injuries.

From being slammed by the Juggernaut, and sustaining many kicks and punches to his core during his other fights, his body was in tatters.

But, he had the system's reassurance that he would be able to recover, and that put him at ease.

[The Rapid Recovery boosts up your recovery speed, but you're not immortal. Be more careful next time.]

'Huh?! You're the one that set the mission!' he couldn't help but yell internally in response.

[You could've won without sustaining as many injuries]

He didn't bother arguing with the system, and was more interested in his rewards.

[Congratulations! You have completed your mission and have been rewarded with Marital Arts Talent and Rapid Recovery] the system announced.

[The Rapid Recovery will last for 2 weeks because of your tough opponents and the damage your body sustained, while it has already started working in your body as well as the Martial Arts Talent]

He didn't feel any different, but initially after receiving the Gangster Instincts didn't feel anything, so didn't question the system about it.

Xavier took a moment to catch his breath and wipe his mouth, before Achara helped him up and sat him beside her on the sofa.

He wanted to leave already, but since they could only be paid at the end of the night, they could only watch the rest of the fights and wait.

And, with his Martial Arts Talent, while watching the fights that took place, Xavier felt as though he could see all the faults and flaws in the fighters, as well as what they did well.

It was as if his fighting knowledge had expanded exponentially, but that wasn't even the best of it.

He even felt as though he could visualise himself against them, and come up with ways to counter how they fought, which he had done in his previous fights, but not as well as he could have.

It was an incredible feeling, and he would benefit greatly from watching the rest of the fights that would take place.
But his body wasn't as eager to do so, and he was struggling to keep his eyes open as he made himself comfortable and dozed off.

-

Placing his head on Achara's lap, he didn't even ask or speak, and after watching merely one fight, slept so deeply that he began to snore, which he wouldn't usually do.

She blushed slightly and couldn't believe how close she had gotten to the crazy, charismatic, and ambitious youth she had met not that long ago, but she didn't regret deciding to follow him.

Smiling to herself, she felt the fire and thrill in her life be reignited, and her mind was clearer than ever.

With the money and influence that their gang would accumulate, she could give back to her family back in Thailand much more than she ever could and help them live better lives, as well as Nora.

She owed them and was willing to struggle so that they didn't have to.

And she was already on track to being able to provide for them, sure that after having her money repeatedly betted on Xavier, she would have earned a large sum since the odds were always stacked against him.

Her resolve had been steeled, and she was itching to get to work, but all she could do for the time being was watch the rest of the fights.

-

A few hours later, the night was concluded, and it was already around 3 AM before they were called by someone to come and collect their earnings.

They were two of the last fighters to be called, and everyone was paid in cash, which they were fine with and meant that they didn't have to explain where the money came from to their bank.

Trying his best to put on a strong front, Xavier acted as though he was perfectly fine and walked without the help of Achara, despite how much she offered it to him.

And they were greeted by one of the one-eyed demon's elite guards.

Xavier was surprised and disappointed that he didn't get to speak to that man once again.

He wanted to gloat to him after being told that he couldn't win the three fights in a single night, while the elite guard didn't seem to like the two of them very much.

But he didn't mind much and just wanted to get paid and go and rest.

All the one-eyed demon's 5 elite guards were second only to him and the two other executives in terms of power in the Wolf Gang, and each had hundreds of men at their beck and call.

They were also the ones that were behind most of the operations that took place, and after receiving the one-eyed demon's seal of approval, could do as they pleased.

So despite appearing to be mere obedient guards before their boss, were in fact bosses to most others in the gang, and the one giving the two of them their money wanted to make that clear.

Each of the fighters was handed an envelope and then lead out of the fight club, but when it came to Xavier and Achara, he took out a pistol and placed it against Xavier's forehead.

In the state he was in, he definitely couldn't have reacted even if he wanted to, but he wasn't confident he could have even at peak health.

However, he still remained calm.

"This is a reminder. You fight, get paid and fuck off. If you get too big for your boots and fuck around with us, then we will fill your bitch-ass with lead. You understand?"

Xavier knew he would have shot him already if he wanted him dead, but also didn't want any trouble, so simply nodded his head as he put his hand out to collect his money.

"From here on out, the others and I will be running things personally rather than the big boss, so get used to seeing this face. And it's good that you know your place."

Throwing Xavier's money at him, not respecting him enough to place it in his hand, Xavier didn't let it get to him and caught his money that was in an envelope, before placing it in his pocket.

He then passed Achara her money and offered them a ride to wherever they wanted.

"A ride? Since when did you offer that?" Achara asked,

"Premium treatment for fighters on the ranking, and it's nothing compared to how much money the two of you earned us tonight."

Achara was still hesitant to accept his offer, which he could see and caused him to laugh.

"Listen, you two are the boss's playthings and sources of entertainment, so I wouldn't kill you even if I wanted to. And you'll draw in quite a lot of money for us too. But if I truly did want you dead, you would have been put down as soon as you stepped foot in this fight club."

Achara was still against accepting his offer, but Xavier was struggling to even stand up straight and just wanted to get out of there.

"Here's a number that you can call to let us know whenever you wish to fight. Please call in advance next time, otherwise, you're unlikely to get a good fight. And we have different locations for the fights that vary every few nights, so if you don't call, you won't know where to go."

Putting his hand out to take the phone number, before Xavier received it, the man had one last thing to say.

"And a piece of advice. Don't even think about trying to contact the big boss or get near him. If he wants to speak to you, he will. Otherwise..." he ran his finger across his neck and gave them a menacing smile.

It was hard not to be slightly intimidated by the man before them, who was docile before his boss, but a monster in his own right.

But Xavier and Achara still stood strong and just wanted to get out of there.

Receiving the piece of paper with the phone number, they were led away by a member of the Wolf Gang that was all dressed in a black suit, just like the others, and on their way out, they bumped into Sam.

He appeared to have been waiting for Xavier, and upon seeing him, also handed him a piece of paper with his phone number on it.

"Thanks and when you're ready to talk, just call me," he said plainly, keeping his word.

Xavier merely nodded his head and was surprised that Sam had realised that he had held back his strength in his final blow, which was what he assumed he was thanking him for, and was interested to see whether he would accept his offer or not.

But for the time being, he wanted nothing more than to rest as he followed their escort to a large blacked-out SUV, that was the same as the ones that had pulled up on Karim.

It was very spacious and luxurious, while Xavier noticed it didn't have a licence plate and that there were dozens more of the same car in the car park that they had been led to.

Assuming that the Wolf Gang owned all of them, and more specifically the one-eyed demon, one could only wonder how rich he really was.

But Xavier knew it was only a matter of time before it was him with those assets and funds, once his gang reached its full potential.
