Gate of Amitilicia Online

Lesson 1: First Login

It was just a coincidence that I, Kano, fistboy, was interested in this game. Originally, I preferred table talk RPGs to computer RPGs, and my forefingers didn't work at all on the MMORPGs that were out until then.

That's what I saw online by chance: beta tester recruiting for a game called Gate of Amityricia Online. Another new MMO is coming out, and what stopped me in my eye when I tried to get through was the phrase "stimulates the five senses" and "freedom = imagination = infinity".

If you look closely at the content, this game was a "I can play with the feeling that I exist in the game world" VR. Instead of following the back of the avatar across the screen, it's a format in which you can act as a definitive member of that world from the point of view of the avatar yourself.

Naturally, it is determined that there are constraints due to the system, but it still seemed to be quite liberal compared to traditional MMOs. That goes to TRPG where the action spreads with the idea, and if there is such a game, I definitely wanted to try it.

but fell brilliantly to recruit testers. The disappointment at that time was unbelievable, to be honest with myself. That's all I expected.

it's a beta test. Get it over with. Authentic version, come on out. The time has passed, wishing for that every day.

The authentic version was released a week ago and is already operational. I also held down the authentic version at the same time as the booking started and just waited for the start day.

but suddenly, out-of-state training went in and it didn't come true to log in on the first day of the start. Respond with a smile on the upper side to the boss who ordered the training, and spew a curse in his heart. The fate of the social deceased, broken off with no way of doing it, and immersed himself in the work.

And finally, the moment of play arrived. When I got home, I took off my suit, set up my PC, and installed the 'GAO' that I had been collecting at the games store. Use the time to finish cleaning up your chores.

Installation and chores were complete and I laid down on my bed wearing VR gear.

When you log in by entering your ID and password, you switch to the Create Avatar screen.

Well, what do we do? Before I started, I had a lot of fun imagining things, but I got nervous that I was going to have to make them. Anyway, it's the creation of characters that are your own. You can't create more than one, and if you want to recreate it, you have to delete the characters you used until then. We have to be careful.

In front of me stands a mannequin-like human form. This is the body of the avatar. I mess with this to determine my appearance, but let's start with a name decision.

Real names are out of the question. In a western-style fantasy world, I don't feel tight. So consider a western-style name, but it doesn't stick very well. All that comes up is something that will come up, and I'm sure there will be many players of the same name. I thought I'd mumble my name a little bit, but I'm not a fistboy... yeah, it looks like a lot of Kens and stuff, and I can't mumble... no, I translate my fists into English and Fist and stuff... 'No player with overlapping names. Are you sure you want to make a decision?' And the confirmation came out. Decide if this is okay.

Next up is appearance creation. They can also call and select samples of parts, but they can also reflect the image as it is. You think it's possible to modify the details of the chosen sample with an image? Imagine the appropriate comic book character to try, the primitive body in front of me changed. It's not just as it is, it's corrected as if the characters I imagined were live. No, I won't spend as much or anything, that's right.

It was reset by imagining the primitive body and returned to the mannequin state. Well, shall we decide in that order?

Hair colors and skin colors vary. Skin color was within common sense and there was no unlikely color in humans. But you have pink or green hair. Which one shall I make? My hair is gold...... no, that doesn't mean I have any art. There's also a combination with the skin color... um, brown skin... try combining black hair with this... oh, that looks good. Do you choose the hair type from the sample appropriately? Not too short, not too long. Um, make it this, mess with chocolate around here, I guess this is it.

Eye color next. Hmm, you can make it another color from left to right. Can I go with Oddeye as well? But don't even feel like you're aiming too hard. Do you want to make them both black?

Being in shape is also something to make you too big, so much so that you're a little over 170, that is, in real life compliance. In other words, the defaults of the primitive body are the same as the real body shape. How do you mess around from here. I'm not going to run to the story and make it obese or thin, or keep it real compliant...... no, you seem like you should have a fine macho system too. Squeeze it a little...... OK, like this. It's a little bit more gutter when it's real.

Can the shape of the face remain defo? Now you mess with your eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth. Here's the thing...... yeah, it's better than the coarse one, it looks about right.

Look at the whole picture. Final check. Is this good for appearance creation?

Next is the choice of skills.

Once you've made up your mind about the style of play, you'll gain the skills you need. I don't think about which skills are strong or weak, useful or not standing. Because it's a configuration for me to enjoy.

That's why I pick up the skills I had decided to take.

Procedure: Ability to fight by bare hands

Spirit Magic: Skills of Manipulating Spirit Magic

Cooking: Skills of cooking

Agility Enhancement: Skills to Enhance Agility

Food processing: skills to process ingredients

Farsightedness: Skills of looking at distant

Dark vision: skills to see things in the dark

Hidden Row: Hidden Skills

Animal Knowledge: Skills to Gain Knowledge about Animals

Plant Knowledge: Skills to Gain Knowledge of Plants

This will do. I'm not looking for strength in games at the moment. From the moment I found out it was a game of appeal to the five senses, the main thing I wanted to do was "I want to taste it".

I want to eat in-game food. You can try cooking it yourself. It would also be ant to recreate real food in the game. Looking for unknown ingredients to eat also seems interesting. Naturally there will be dangers in getting it, and some of them will die if you eat it (in the game, though). That's what I want to enjoy.

I intend to seek some combat power in order to procure ingredients, and if there are events, etc., I plan to participate actively. but the basics are eating and walking, and I'm going to try my best to create a dish if possible. Build a store, do business, because I'm not thinking about it at the moment. One day I'm going to acquire my land, build a house, grow crops and livestock there, and occasionally go on adventures to secure unknown ingredients, and make a self-sufficient living like that. I can't have a single family with farmland while maintaining my current level of civilization in real life, so at least I'll be good enough to dream about it here.

The avatar was also created. After that, tease the fine settings and let them complete the settings. Then a message appeared in front of me.

'There is unlimited freedom in this world, and most of the actions that players want are doable.

However, naturally, what is possible is not necessarily 'allowed in this world' or 'can be done'.

Players are free to do anything in this world.

However, remember that no matter what happens as a result, 'all responsibility lies with the players'.

Everything should be at your own risk. Whatever happens to you and other players as a result of your actions, we are not responsible. '

I know this message. No, it doesn't have to be me, most people would know if they were people playing GAO. Because it's a sentence that's been sticking on the front page since a little while since the official HP of this game was launched.

Determine what can be done and what is wrong and act. Common sense. If it's true, it's not exactly a precaution.

But there are also, unfortunately, people who can't do such normal things. I guess it's a warning to those people.

Nevertheless, there are doubts. If there's something you shouldn't do, why don't we just put restrictions on it in the system from the start?

For example, in this game, an act called PK is implemented in which a player attacks a player. This act, in the light of reality, is an act that includes everything from assault to murder, something that naturally should not be done in real life. But on the system, that's allowed.

How should we judge this? Simply thinking about it, you would think it would be fine to do it if it were an act allowed in the system. Yet in real life and on this occasion, he does things like purposefully stabbing nails. PK is possible, but whether it is an act that can be done. If I did it, would I be safe without any penalty? If it had been implemented since beta, I would have known the results, but it seems that PK was incorporated from the regular version, and it is known that PK has already occurred, but it remains unclear what will happen as a result of PK.

Well, back to the point, the truth of the matter is, this sentence doesn't affect me in any way. Because in the game, for a minute to act with the same ethics as in real life, it shouldn't be a problem first.

Naturally, it is possible that real ethics will not prevail in the game. The point is, you don't commit crimes, you don't bother others. This should be all we have together in any world.

When you scroll through the message, you say, 'Only those who can agree more than that can move on. Do you agree? The letters' Yes' and 'No' come to mind after the sentence '. I chose' yes' without hesitation.

'I expect players to be' human 'with reason and conscience'

The last sentence displayed. I don't have to read it in depth, it just seems like a push to act as a decent person who can fit into society.

Then the message disappears, and the light lighted in the distance draws closer and closer. I couldn't help but close my eyes.

When I opened my eyes, there was a new world spread out there.

The hustle and noise fills the western-style townships of the old days. The people who go out with each other wear armor, and many are raising their weapons.

The wind stroking your cheeks. Smells like tickling your nose. Unusual air.

"Wow..."

That was the first natural and zero word to step into this world.

Even though it's a game, I don't think it's a game. Five senses complain that what is there is another reality.

I can't help but inflate my expectations about the various things that will happen and be involved. But the first thing to do is...

Eat!

That's why I'm here, so I want to eat a lot of food that's in this world first. It doesn't have to be unique to this world. First, I want to see what I can taste.

What we are now in is Einfast's Central Square, the first city to emerge for those who log in for the first time. It's quite large and the avatars are moving around.

"Hold on... where am I supposed to go?

The city itself seems quite large. Activate the map but only part of the square is open. This is a specification that can only be opened where I have been, so I decided to take a stroll and fill it in one way or another.

"Um, excuse me"

Deciding to listen fast, he called out to an avatar who was nearby.

"Hmm, what?

It was the little fat man who looked like he was in his mid-thirties who responded.

"Don't you know what's good about the store selling food around here?

"Food, huh... is that cooking? Or the ingredients?

"Er... both"

Think about it, answer that. I want to eat the food, and I want to make it myself. The same goes for the location of the restaurant, but I also want to know the store that deals with ingredients.

"Right. The ingredients are over there. It would be nice to have a market."

Say it. The man points in a certain direction.

"Sometimes digs are sold out when it's an outdoor shop or something, but what's certain is the market. Most of the stuff goes that way. So, there are stalls and stuff, but it's that boulevard that's consolidating the store."

And now he pointed me in a different direction.

"Do you have a recommended store or something?

"Well... there's been some talk of a store recently opened by someone outside... but I wonder what it was."

Uh, I accidentally leaked it. This man said, 'Someone outside'. 'Outsiders' or 'Gentiles' are words that refer to players in this world, but not in the way they say players, which means is this guy NPC? I just assumed that the words and actions were too natural and PC. It's refreshing to see what technology is used, but it must be amazing. Is it even equipped with advanced AI for each NPC?

This is interesting. Unless there are so many features, it seems that the distinction between PC and NPC cannot be made solely by appearance. Well, an unarmed avatar would be NPC first.

In fact, there are ways to distinguish between PC and NPC on the system. All you have to do is turn on marker display in settings. Then a marker that indicates that it is an NPC is displayed overhead.

I was turning that feature off. And I'm not willing to turn it on anymore. Doesn't this one look more real? Just look at what you say and do, I don't think it's an object of the game. He's there, he's an individual. As a table talker, this one definitely suits my taste better.

"I'm sorry, I can't even remember the store."

"No, thank you.

Thankfully, I decided to turn my foot to the market first.

But... a store opened by someone outside, huh? It's been a week since we started, and you already have such a stiff guy. How much would it cost to open a store or something? I guess purchasing land will be a good amount of money too. I wonder how hard you struggled to make money. Or did you charge?

Well, let's just say. Food first.

Go ahead and walk to the market first, as the man said earlier.

While I'm doing this, voices like party recruiting and consulting on offenses get in my ear. It's already been a week since we started. Even if I'm not a do-it-yourself, I'll have a good grasp of the world and enjoy it. It feels kind of left out, but having someone ahead also means that that much information has been gained. GAO has information boards on its official website, so if we use them successfully, we should be able to get that lag back.

That said, I'm not very interested in the strategy itself, so you should go check on the information you need when you need it.

Now, as I went through the square and past the big street, I went out to the bigger street. The number of people going out is increasing and full of energy.

After checking the surroundings, there are some like guidance signs, and the directions to the main facilities are likely to work out now.

Is the market that way? So, I guess that means there are a lot of stores selling martial arts as the letters go. Mm, if you go that way, there's a fighting field too... oh, I see it. A smaller, but more like a Roman Colosseum. I guess I'll go later. Hmm, honey town? What, honey can be a specialty in this city? I like sweets. Would you like to check this out later?

I don't know, I look away. But it's the first time. Food first.

The country superior said hello and was going to the market looking at the streets, but his legs stop naturally.

"Ko, this smell..."

Yes, it was the smell that stopped my leg. The source of that was immediately known. There's a stall out at the end of the street, where the bearded man is baking something. I don't know what that is.

When I noticed, my feet were headed for the stall.

"Oh, there you are!

"Oh man, what are you baking on this?

It was like a bird's leg being burned. Point to it and ask.

"Is this it? These are chicken legs."

Chicken, huh? A chicken would be a bird in real life, but do chickens in this world make any difference?

The window opened in front of me thinking about it.

Chicken (???? species): common edible birds. Various types exist.

I see, did this activate [Animal Knowledge] skills? But this sounds incomplete. The description of the chicken came out, but there is information left blank. Either way, I know it's not the species I know, but don't worry about it.

"So, what a species?

No, I'll ask it at the source. Then,

"Surprised to hear it, it's tiocri. It's delicious."

And his nose was high, my father said. Even so, I'm not sure what's awesome.

It was when I thought so.

Tioculi chickens: common edible birds. Luxury species among chickens. The meat tastes great, but the eggs don't.

and window information was updated.

Quality and other information were updated when the type was known. Additional information reduces the difficulty of determining knowledge, and you succeeded in re-determining... No, is that what this world's knowledge-based skills are in the first place?

In any case, if the information is collected in this manner for the unknown part, it would appear to be closer to the perfect information. Asking is also a temporary disgrace, and what I don't know is if I get a chance, I'll listen more and more.

Well, we'll see about that later...

"Oh man, how much is this?

Seventy pedia a bottle.

The monetary unit of this world has become a pedia. Current holdings are 1,000 pedia. Well, I don't have a problem buying it, but is this expensive or cheap? What do you care? When I looked at the other stores, there was an outdoor store dealing with fruit. There's a familiar fruit there. Appearance is obviously an apple where it's real. Then again, the window stood up and told me that was the apple. This would be [plant knowledge].

So, the apples were five pedia apiece. Hmm, and I think back to the real market. If it were an apple, would it have a value of around 150 yen for three packs in the supermarket? When that happens, one pedia means about 10 yen, and this chicken means about 700 yen.

I don't feel a little expensive, but the beef skewer at the festival stall is about the price. Moreover, in the case of this chicken, it is said that it is also a luxury product in this world. Skills also make that determination, so there is no mistake. 700 yen for fine chicken. That seems like a cheap purchase to me.

"I'll take one."

"Aye, mayday!

Instantly, place an order. At the same time as the powerful voice, my father offered me the leg of a bird that had been burned with charcoal on a large leaf that was like a fork.

I take 70 pedia out of my possession and give it to my father, who receives the meat.

Make sure to wrap the ends with leaves, hold the meat, and decide to enjoy the smell first. Smells like teriyaki chicken where you say it in real life stirs your appetite. The pseudo-sensation of gushing spit accumulating in your mouth seems to rush your eating and this one quickly.

"Then... I'll have it"

Whimpering, swallowing up on meat, pulling and chewing. The smell of sauce, where the sweetness and spiciness lived together, thrust through my nose. From the soft meat, the gravy overflows and fills the mouth. The more you chew, the stronger the sweetness of the meat seems to become.

"Delicious..."

It was delicious without complaint. I've never eaten a chicken so good. It is very regrettable that it is an ingredient that does not exist in real life. No, maybe this is how delicious the fancy chickens in real life are.

"How do you like it, brother?

"I like it! I've never tasted a chicken this good before. Ooh!

"Right, right! I'm so glad you're eating it like it tastes good!

The old man laughed in a good mood.

"Well, I mostly open a shop here, so come anytime."

"Oh, I'll definitely be back!

I would have liked to have had a few more if it was true, but I'll be patient. Anyway, we still have food.

What to try next. I move from the spot, checking the surrounding stores.

That day, we never got to the market, and we ended up just eating and walking.
