Gong Mingue sighed as she looked down from the terrace watching Long Fan get out of the school.

What Long Fan didn't know was Gong Mingue knew all the occasions he was bullied, but didn't do anything because she felt if she acted for him it might endanger him outside the school, especially when he goes outside the barrier for his work.

The students who bullied him all had great backgrounds in the city so she had to be silent.

She remembered the first time she interacted with Long Fan right after he joined the Ender's 23rd beginner school.

Long Fan was the only person in the Ender's 23rd beginner school to get admitted without any bloodline awakening. The reason for this is thanks to his parents, who are awoken with powerful bloodlines during their test and also being renowned scientists before the Ender's selection changed the world.

Even though he didn't have any powerful bloodline due to his parents being directly admitted to the Ender's high level school, and also being the son of two powerful bloodline parents he was made an exception to join the school considering that he is a late bloomer and he will awaken a bloodline similar to or more powerful than his parents.

She started talking to him because she was a big fan of her parents who are famous renowned scientists before the Ender's selection. But soon she found that Long Fan is not any less intelligent than his parents. Even though he doesn't have a bloodline, he is calm, intelligent and moved forward despite the issues he faced which made a positive impact on her.

After spending time with him she started considering him a very good friend.

Everything was going well for Long Fan, but two months after the Ender's selection his parents went missing, no one can contact them anymore and everything changed for Long Fan since then.

People who respected him and fawned on him because of his parents started ostracizing him, and the students started bullying him because he was favored by the teachers because of his parents talent.

Except her and the school's sword master, Zhou Yuan, no one favored him and he had a tough life since then. He started working in a mercenary group to get his resources for living and strengthening himself without anyone's help. His character also changed; he kept to himself unlike his previous self who was very outgoing and preferred silence most of the time and he did lot of things secretly which even she hadn't found the details about until now.

She did understood why he changed.

She spoke silently to herself "I hope you activate your bloodline soon and live a better life."

At the same time while she was thinking about him, Long Fan was walking towards the northern wall of the city while thinking about similar things.

He thought 'Mingue think I will be able to activate my bloodline, but she doesn't know I will never be able to activate my bloodline without my Origin root. And I still haven't found any way in Asmodius which can help me get a new Origin root.'

Then he laughed sadly and murmured "Forget about finding a way to get a new Origin root, if this keep going on, I won't be able to get rid of the urgent issue I'm facing with my soul and will die soon, and this bastard will take over me.'

Then the voice sounded in his mind again 'F.u.c.ker, who are you calling a bastard? Do you think I had a choice about taking your body. I wish I had not taken over your body and started the integration soul if I had known you didn't have an origin root. Hmph... As that brawny guy said you are a trash and I'm stuck with such a trash because I was worried about my injured soul and started the integration.'

Long Fan didn't bother to say anything to the voice coming from his mind.

Everything changed for Long Fan the day the Ender's selection started.

Long Fan and his parents were having a good time in their home when a huge shock went through everyone around the world and lost consciousness.

An hour later, everyone woke up and heard an announcement in their mind.

[Hello everyone, Earth has entered the 9th stage of Ender's selection. Monsters will start mutating and attack all over the world. We have created 1000 cities all over the world. If you want to survive and become strong, reach the city near to you. You will find the location of nearest city to you in your mind. Once you reach the city, you will find more details about the situation in your world from the Ender's envoy that is ruling each city all over the world.]

Most people didn't believe what they heard, and the rest were confused.

They heard it was the 9th Ender's selection, but the have never heard or found any records of previous selections in the historical records.

While people all over the world were having different kind of reaction, the mutated monsters started their attack simultaneously.

People panicked and rushed towards the nearest city which can protect them from this changed world. After approximately 15 days of going through life and death, only 60% of humanity reached the cities nearby them and the rest were killed by the mutated monsters.

When they reached the city and was happy that they survived, another shock came from the information provided by Ender's envoy ruling each city.

They were informed that every city has an Ender's beginner level school which will teach the survivors about how to improve themselves, but only the survivors with bloodlines activated will be admitted to the school which will be based on the power level of their bloodlines.

Humans will be trained for five years, and the Ender's organisation will leave after five years and the cities will also disappear and it will depend on the humans protect Earth by themselves.

A week later, the tests were taken and many people were awoken with the bloodlines hidden deep within them. They were all admitted and allowed to live in the school premises while the rest are allowed to live in the city but not allowed inside the school.

Long Fan's parents were awoken with higher level bloodline along with 30 others and they were considered a higher level bloodline even among the 30.

They were informed that they will be taken to one of the 100 hidden cities in the world which has Ender's higher level schools.

While this was all happening in the world, Long Fan didn't wake up like others and suffer through the events to get to the city, because he went into a coma when the selections began has yet to wake up until that time.

Because of this, his parents were reluctant to leave him to go to one of the hidden cities. But they were promised by the city's envoy that he will get resources to wake Long Fan up and will also test his bloodline and get him to join the school based on his bloodline, even though it is will be beyond the deadline for that year.

Even though they didn't want to, Long Fan's parents accepted the proposal because they couldn't find a way to wake him up and is health got weaker by the day, they went to one of the hidden cities trusting the Envoy since they didn't have a choice. They also hoped they could find a way in the hidden city for a way to wake their son up since the hidden city is higher level than the normal cities all over the world.

Sadly, just 2 days after they left Long Fan miraculously woke up, missing his chance to meet is parents.

Envoy of the city also didn't bother with the resources anymore since Long Fan already woke up and decided on a day to get him tested for the bloodline.

When the envoy was explaining everything, Long Fan didn't respond much and he though Long Fan was too shocked by the changes and let him alone to adjust to the situation.

But what he didn't know was, Long Fan wasn't in any better condition when he woke up; because there is another soul inside his mind along with his own, which is cursing at him left and right.

After the cursing stopped and the other soul calmed down, he found what happened since the Ender's selection started.

Apparently this soul is a damn amnesic soul which invaded him the moment the Ender's selection began and started integrating with his own soul using a way in the broken memories left in its soul. But after starting integrating with his soul, it found that there is no origin root in his body.

Without an origin root, a person cannot contain any power in his body, cannot cultivate and will be a mortal all his life according to the soul which ruined everything for the invaded soul.

This also confirmed that he cannot join the school since, according to the soul inside him; everyone's bloodline will be transferred to them from their parents to their origin roots on their birth. Since he doesn't have an origin root. there will be no way for him to have a bloodline.

The worst thing is he also learned from his soul that he will be erased completely when the other soul completely integrate into his soul and it will take over his body. He was sad and frustrated with his situation, and it made him even more sad when he found out that his parents, who were always there for him, had already left and went to a hidden city and can only meet them after a year during the break by the time his soul would have been already turned to ashes.

His head started hurting by the unending issues and with his parents leaving, he couldn't take it and fainted again.
