But the attack on providing me with nutritious nourishment did not end there.

I was able to get rid of the dragon’s claws, but the servants continued to push the food tray.

This one, though, looked like a typical vegetable, which was a relief.

“It is a legendary herb that only grows only seven times a year in Moonlit Mountain. People say that consuming only one root will provide you with a lot of immunity, so you don’t have to worry about getting sick.”

“Fantastic…… It is a herb.”

But after about an hour, those worries faded away.

The legendary fish caught in the deep sea and the legendary snow crystal found in the snowy mountains… All sorts of “legendary” health foods were delivered to my room on a tray.

‘What’s the matter with them?’

The infuriating baptism of nutritious food had me spellbound like a battered man.

Whether it was the placebo effect or if they actually worked, I felt energized every time I ate them.

I didn’t know why Ian was doing this, though.

‘Is this also a way to show you care for me?’

I’m his lover, and I’m curious about what kind of allure he gets from spending so much money on his wife’s health.

If that’s the case, there’s nothing I can’t do, but I’m still somewhat full. Fortunately, the healthy food binge ended before my stomach was completely full.

I was finally left alone after convincing the chef and the maids that I was full and needed to sleep.

‘Finally……!’

I strolled over to the dressing table after closing the door.

When I used the key to open the bottom drawer, the things I had hidden last night reappeared.

I cleaned my hands well and sat reverently in front of it after rearranging them on the dressing table.

‘Now. The recipe is easy to follow.’

I took a deep breath as I recalled the recipe had meticulously put down in my head.

It was a process for making something that had been simulated dozens or even hundreds of times before.

To begin with, I did a thorough job of measuring the integers and then used that as a starting point for beginning production in an intense way.

Even though I had never done anything remotely similar to making medicine, I had no particular obstacles. To complete this task, I had to stick to the recipe Rizello had created in the original novel. Exactly like the female lead did.

‘First, soak the Orbyi fruit for five minutes in pure water……’

Crushing it could cause it to explode, therefore cleaning it in filtered water is essential.

It brought to mind the words of insight that Rizello shared with the heroine in the original storyline.

Rizello wanted the heroine so that she would rely on him to prepare it for her. Our brave heroine, on the other hand, finished the medicine on her own and thanked him for his advice.

Remembering that scene, I was very careful as I weighed and mixed the ingredients.

Pick the roots of the spirit flower, and stir the Cakulta extract three times clockwise and five times counterclockwise.

After completing all the processes, an hour or so passed in an instant.

I peered into the mirror, wiping the sweat from my brow.

All of the ingredients were coarsely powdered and combined for nearly an hour to produce a thick liquid that completely filled the glass.

The colour of the liquid was dirty, like sludge, but it did not disappoint.

‘Now I just need to put it in the sun for five hours.’

Not even 4 hours, 59 minutes, or 5 hours and 1 minute. It should have been 5 hours and 0 minutes exactly.

The liquid would then boil until it turned golden.

Excitedly, I took the cuckoo clock and the glass out to the terrace.

The weather was just fine. Feeling a pleasant breeze blowing, I placed the glass in the sunlight.

An hour has passed.

2 hours.

It’s been three… four hours.

In the end, about five hours had gone by.

‘Now is the time.’

I calmed my beating heart as I looked at the watch I had set meticulously beforehand.

Exactly 4 hours 59 minutes and 30 seconds since I came out on the terrace. There were barely 30 seconds remaining.

‘Please!’

Looking down at the glass, I grabbed the black cloth. At the same time as it boiled to a golden light, I had to cover it with this cloth to block out the sunlight.

4 hours, 59 minutes, and 48 seconds. I gazed into the glass with anticipation.  I didn’t think I would be as nervous as a child with a stomach ache going to their first day of elementary school.

4 hours, 49 minutes, and 52 seconds.

57 seconds.

And finally……

A cuckoo popped out of the clock.

Cuckoo, cuckoo!

‘Huh?’

I tilted my head.

The liquid was still the colour of stale water.

Cuckoo, cuckoo!

The cuckoo came out again and cried, but the liquid in the glass stayed still.

‘The medicine…….?’

I looked into the glass with anxious eyes. The inside still looks dirty like a mop.

“…….”

Another 30 seconds of silence and stillness passed. The liquid remained the color of muck.

Another minute had passed. But nothing had changed.

After five minutes, I finally had to admit it.

“This is insane……”

That the production of the medicine failed.

Instead of getting golden as it boiled, the liquid had turned jelly-like.

I was in despair as I looked at the tangled jelly.

‘Why.’

How come that didn’t work? Why not!

‘Everything was perfect.’

The recipe and ingredients were just right. I couldn’t have been wrong because I remembered the page number where the recipe was.

I jumped up from my seat after a few more minutes of being devastated.

Something is wrong. The big one.

But since I knew nothing about magic or medicine, I couldn’t find any mistakes.

“Ha……”

I shut my eyes and accepted reality.

I failed. However, based on this failure, I knew I had to succeed the next time.

And there was only one person in the world who could help me succeed.

The creator of the recipe. It’s the Master of Magic Tower.

‘Shit.’

I was locked in intense agony while holding the glass cup filled with stale water jelly.

It wasn’t that I was reluctant to go to Rizello and ask for help.

Of course, he would ask for money or some other price, but as long as he could finish the medicine by doing so, any price would seem reasonable.

Rizello never asked for an immorally high price in the original story or when they met in person so that part became trustworthy.

‘Okay. Let’s go find him.’

I made a quick decision. As soon as I made up my mind, I left the terrace.

Because Ian’s eyes were wide open, I could not enter the tower openly; instead, I was heading to Miss Melody’s residence for now.

***

After an hour.

I was devastated as I glanced at the elderly person in front of me.

“Pardon, what did you say?”

“I told you, saintess, that the master and lady had been gone from the mansion for 15 days.”

The butler for the Hyacinth family inserted an apologetic voice.

“Should I contact the lady saying that the saintess found it? A reply will probably arrive in fifteen days.”

“Is it really 15 days?”

It’s the full moon. In this situation where Nine was terrifying me, time was money.

My mind went blank as the possibility of meeting Rizello through Miss Melody vanished.

‘Then how do I find Rizello now……’

The options really did exist.

First, go directly to the Magic Tower.

It was the simplest option, but Ian would not leave me alone if I did.

The second option, I visit Ray Monaghan, Rizello’s false identity.

This was not the best choice. Ray and I don’t seem to be very close at first glance. It was all. Cordelia and I had met a few times at the salon and the other day in a street cafe.

But why do I want to find Ray? Anyone who knows me as a married lady would find it strange. It was a bonus that I would be questioned by Ian.

‘Shit. What am I supposed to do.’

The butler was worried as I was deep in contemplation, my complexion dead and earthy.

I got back into the carriage and left Lady Melody’s house behind.

No matter how much I squeezed my head, I couldn’t come up with a plausible option other than those two.

Later in the evening.

While reading the report his subordinate had just given him, Ian was thinking about something else.

The training of elite knights was proceeding as planned. The elite knights from all around the country, chosen exclusively for their skills, would pretend to die at Ian’s instruction.

“The identity camouflage has been completed perfectly.”

Ian nodded slowly in response to Lucian’s remarks.

The most difficult thing after the emperor planted spies was hiding these superior knights from the emperor’s sight. On the outside, the knights existed as members of different units, but after the sun went down, they were living an arduous daily life where they had to devote themselves to secret training under Ian.

“Okay. That’s enough of your report.”

Ian, who folded the report, asked casually.

“What about madam?”

Lucian grinned quietly.

These days, his boss asked after Irene anytime he had the opportunity. He was especially worried about her health.

“I heard that she ate all of the healthy foods that came in today. She’ll probably show up at the dining room soon.”

“I hope there are no leftovers”

“Of course.”

Lucian grinned inwardly again. Are you so worried about Irene’s health?

At that time, a familiar person entered the restaurant.

Ian raised his head reflexively and soon opened his eyes wide.

“Good evening.”

Irene Grace, his contract wife, was the one who came in.

Today, however, she looked somewhat different. Maybe it’s because of a dark navy indoor dress. The dress with a strangely alluring light was not something Irene would normally wear.

“Honey.”

For some reason, Irene, who was more mature than usual, approached him with a smile in her eyes.

“Do you know what day tomorrow is?”

The roof of his mouth was dry, perhaps because he was embarrassed.

Ian asked, moistening his dry mouth.

“……Tomorrow, what do you mean?”
