God Among Bugs

Shww! Shww! Shww! Shww! Shww! .... "Alright pick another prize." The young man working at the basketball booth says to Larry in exasperation. "Which one you want Vic?" Larry turns his head to Victoria who has her arms full with a veritable zoo of stuffed animals.

"Crocodile!" Vic shouts with Glee, even though Larry always bragged about being kind of good at sports, she never knew how insanely amazing he really was. He was with a few different rec leagues out of school so Vic never had the chance to watch him play.

Within ten minutes Larry has made a countless number of shots and only two missed. The crazy part was he only held the ball in his hand after picking them for as long as it took him to look up at the goal.

It wasn't just basketball either, Larry dragged Vic over to each of the sports booths and had her pick out all the prizes she wanted. Larry may have spent forty dollars but he won over hundreds of dollars worth of prizes.

The one that really impressed her was the ring toss though, even the lady running the booth dropped her jaw after the two walked away with six of her fluffiest plushies.

"How did you get so good at sports? Like why are you going to culinary school? you could be a pro athlete!" Larry grabbed up the stuffed animals in his arms before answering.

"I'm not that good Vic, Did you know I have a bunch of cousins that play pro and college league sports? Baseball, soccer, basketball, Hockey, Polo, Point is you name it and I got a Cousin, aunt, or uncle that plays or retired it.. Wanna guess how my WEEK long family reunions go? It's like a carnival they set up all these stupid 'Mini-games' every year."

Larry shuddered for a moment remembering how the rugby match went last year and praying his cousin John will be on his team this year. "So if you come from such a big sports family why is your dad a sheriff?"

"Because my Great-Grandpa was a cop and my dad looked up to him a lot My aunt Jenny is a cop too." "So your whole family is made up of Police officers and athletes? And you're going to be a cook?"

"Chef not a cook I wanna run my own Eatery as the head chef, and your dad is an accountant that makes bank, but your not copying him.. I just wanna do something that makes me happy, I'm not the kind of guy to put my neck on the line for people and I couldn't care about having thousands of fans and being super rich, I just want to eat good food stay high and have a nice house is that so bad?"

Pfft "Maybe the staying high part depending on what state you're in, That doesn't sound bad but what about your family?"

"eh I'll be halfway across the country so maybe see them once or twice a year? besides Facebook." "I meant starting one.." "Oh duh I'll wait till I get my restaurant up and then we can have as many kids as you want."

Victoria stopped walking and grabbed Larry's shoulder to stop him and look him in the eye. "Was that a proposal?" "What!?!? no! I'm going to propose Somewhere way nicer than Carowinds."

After replying Larry turned and kept walking completely oblivious to the meltdown he caused in Victoria's head. *He's going to propose!?!* Played on loop in her head until they made it to the pavilion.

"Thanks for letting me pick the ride first Vic, I love this one you can see the entire park and everything around it and it's so quiet." Larry stares out the window as the platform lifts and slowly rotates allowing for an amazing view.

Snap! "You know with as goofy as you act you can be sooo Hot some times." Victoria says as she took a picture of Larry with her cell phone. As she went to put the phone away it buzzed twice telling her she had a message.

"Hey Larry everyone is heading back to the cars for a bite to eat, let's go snag a few more prizes on the way back I'll pay this time."

Chelsea, Vic, Mike and Larry had all made it to the cars and waited on Tom and Mari with the comfort of the A.C. "Soo where are you guys going out to eat?" Victoria asked Chelsea from the back seat.

"Mike won't tell me, he's making me keep my eyes closed on the way too.." "Oooh sounds romantic" Larry mocked slightly while pretending to swoon. "How long has it been since I last hit you?" Mike asked with an eyebrow raised. "Too long" Chelsea replied before Larry could answer.

"You guys think this is going to make things awkward for Tom and Mari?" Victoria asks changing the sentence and saving her man at the same time. "Uhh I don't think so.." Chelsea replied with a look of disbelief and pointed to the rear window.

Everyone turned around to see Tom and Mari walking out the gate holding hands whilst laughing. As the two made it halfway to the car they let go of each others hand and took a step apart. When the two finally made it, Mike and Larry jumped out of the Civic and grabbed Tom as Chelsea and Vic cornered Mari.

""""Aha!!!"""" "What the Hell guys!" Tom shouted mid assault "We saw you walk out the gate." Larry says in a accusing tone. "We know everything" Mike chimes in as if they were badgering a witness.

"You must tell us everything." Victoria demands beforr grabbing a hold of Mari's arms while Chelsea starts tickling her. "We want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

As Mari was being forced into laughter she couldn't speak so Tom shouted out to save her. "Fine!! We are talking about dating okay!" "Just talking?" Mike asks accusingly. "Yes!!" Mari shrieked between laughter and tears, she hates being tickled because she's so s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e.

The four let them go nodding partly due to being satisfied with their teamwork and mostly because they thought Tom and Mari should have been dating for years now.

Only after all the excitement died down did Tom notice the MOUNTAIN of stuffed animals sprawled across a picnic blanket between the cars. "... Win a few prizes Larry?" "Eh it wasn't very hard." Larry replied to Tom while shrugging his shoulders. "Ok no more talkie talkie I'm staaaarving." Chelsea buts in and shakes Tom to hurry him up and pop the hatch to the jeep.
