God bless your ruin

Chapter 3

— Um... The Britannia name merged and disappeared after the First Continental War, but his most famous plays remain. I've also turned the four tragedies from Shakespeare's plays into happy endings. The answer came after a long while. — You turned Shakespeare's four great tragedies into a happy ending? The reason it' s because as masterpieces is because it is tragedies. You changed the ending the way you wanted. — It's a story I imagined. I thought it was so sad and unfair that these good protagonists have a tragic fate... To the point of seeming like they're being punished that way. That's how I imagined it. Angie plucked up her courage and tried to explain more actively. — Why don't you listen to it once, young master? And let me know what you think. Whether you say it's ridiculous or terrible. No matter what I say, I won't be offended.  — I don't care if you take offense. Even if she was very angry.  Angie's shoulders slumped slightly at his sullen tone. But with the young master's next words, her face brightened again. — I'll just tell you, if you do anything ridiculous, you must leave this room immediately. — Yes, young master. Angie slowly brought up the story, knowing that she might be expelled.  Fortunately, the boy didn't ask her to leave the room even after a while had passed. A lighter and happier girl than anyone else in the world, a noble and unhappy boy, they met like this.  If only the girl had been quiet and introverted as always and had not talked about her fictitious creations so easily. In fact, if only she had been a little more afraid. If it had been like that, nothing could have happened.  If it had been like that, she could have been blinded by false happiness and lived so peacefully all her life. After so many years, Angie felt a tingling in her heart as she thought from time to time about this first meeting.  Knowing what will happen in the future. At this point when she knows what the consequences would be, if the clock were to turn back and go back to that point. If so, what would it be like? Even so, nothing will change. She will still say the same thing and act the same way. The influence that the enchanting voice beyond the veil exerted on the girl was just as overwhelming. It was bound to happen anyway, and it should have. To live her whole life like this, in false happiness.  Just thinking about it is terrifying.  It is far better to break the delusion, to wake up and fight the wretched reality of death.  Giving up without a fight is an easy choice. ... That night, a gust of wind blew across the sea surrounding Cullinan Island. Elliot, who had just become an adult at the age of nineteen, was full of youthful energy.  He always wanted to know what lay beyond the sea. It was more than mere curiosity. For a cheerful, bellicose, short tempered young man, this peaceful island was too narrow.  It was so frustrating that it was suffocating.  His parents did not understand their son's ambition and spirit. A few days ago, his parents were busy scolding Elliott. — Elliott, stop thinking nonsense. This island is where the only survivors live together after the horrible Second Continental War. It's the only safe place! There are terrible things on the other side of the sea. Whether it's monsters or the creatures that became strange due to biological experiments during the war, only one thing is certain. As long as we don't leave this island, we can all live happily ever after. We can live without want because of the care of the Blackwell family. — Yes. Elliot, please be as quiet as your father said.  You should work at the brewery in the duke's estate from next month. If you study and work diligently, you can become the brewery manager... — I'm not even interested in managing that brewery! If you both like being stuck here, well, go ahead! So don't worry about me, I'll do what I want!  Elliott was very helpful.  In his spare time working on the farm, he completed a wooden boat with the books he looked at in the barn.  It was a big job that took over half a year. There were several fishing boats fishing within a reasonable distance.  It would have been nice for him to sneak in a boat, but it wasn't feasible because it was all heavily chained to the dock. He saw the right time, and decided to perform the feat on a calm night.  That night, Elliott waited until after midnight and then dragged the boat out to the bleak southern coasts.  The white moonlight was still and peaceful. As expected, there was fog around the island, but he didn't stop. Originally, sea fog is only dangerous when a collision with a reef or another boat happens.  There was no problem getting out of the interior. Outside the sea area, the view is blocked by the fog, so it is not possible to see the island, but vice versa. Anyway, if he hit a reef and it made a hole in the boat, he thought about jumping into the water quickly.  He was a very good swimmer.  The limit created by the fog was narrow, so it wasn't a problem to swim from there to the beach. — Ugh...! Elliott pushed the boat up to the surface.  The boat landed better in the water than he thought it would. It seemed pretty strong as it floated straight without losing its balance. — I made sure to bring emergency food and water. Now I'm going to start sailing. Elliott started paddling.  The boat went smoothly.  He planned to be back in three hours. He didn't have to be too greedy from the start. He didn't know if he could see anything even if he sailed steadily for three hours. Then, if he gradually increased the sailing time and went further out, he would find another island or land. — Of course there has to be something. There's no way this is the whole world. There's no way it's going to end like this. Since he was born, he has lived only on the island.  The food was always plentiful, and the people in the village shared it very well, and everything was peaceful. — It's always the same every day and it's so boring. There must be something on the other side of the sea, so why doesn't anyone try to leave the island? For some time now, whenever Elliott asked a question, his parents always said. — Elliott, don't you know. What a precious blessing is the boredom you enjoy now. Shortly after that horrible war, the Duke of Blackwell found a safe place and gathered the survivors here so they could live happily ever after. We are the one community left in the world. Someday, the world outside the island will be safe and perhaps we can go far away. But not now. — Yes. Elliott, you know that, don't you? The Blackwells are using all their technology and equipment to protect this island from the outside world. And that's what that would be all for? They're developing something like 'Wind' to see if the world is safe or not, and to keep an eye on what's happening in the outside world! When he's convinced it's safe, Mr. Edward will tell us to get out without hesitation. Elliott shook his parents' warnings from his mind. On a moonlit night, the huge wind pillar loomed in the dim darkness. As if symbolizing isolation from the outside, the wind, which was made like a large pillar, rose above the surface of the water.  On top of a long, large pillar, a spinning pillar in the shape of a pinwheel was placed over misty water at 50 meter intervals, like a buoy. Nothing, not even a fishing boat, could escape the wind.  It was like a kind of dividing line.  As soon as one gets out of there, no one can predict what danger lurks.  Elliott slowed his rowing motion a bit. He was a little scared going through the wind.  At the same time, he had a surge of exhilarating pleasure and excitement.  It was the twisted ecstasy of revealing secrets and breaking taboos.  It was also the exhilaration of breaking and destroying the shackles of the biggest and most secret discipline that his community had been steadfastly maintaining. — Ha, ha... It was something that simple. So easy. Why haven't I been able to do it all this time? Everyone is a coward. I was a coward. Elliott chuckled softly and muttered.  It was just as the tail of the boat passed right by the wind pillar.  It was the moment when the brave journey was about to begin. It was an adventure that was only allowed to those with such bold courage. — There's nothing out here! Look at this, it's just a big ocean. Whew!... whew! Aaah! Something jumped on the boat and rocked it noisily. His excited voice soon turned into a scream.  The scream soon became a cry for help.  Blood splashed before his eyes.  That was Elliott's own blood. The blood splashed like a stream of water on the moon, which was calmly looking at the bottom of the sea. The full moon with red blood soon turned into a red moon.  The rain and wind began to come together with frightening force.  Even the waves that were calm were so strong it moved with the wind.
