Godly shop's cheat fragrance

Episode 45: Wilderness Supper Reservations

On the high ground on my way to the same lighthouse as usual, I made breakfast and Yalarai and I ate together.

It is now post-meal coffee time.

Last night's dinner bill and so on. The balance has decreased as follows.

The balance is 912,876 yen.

"If I could afford it, I'd just like to make another menu."

As always for dinner, the Hugs only eat tonkatsu, so I eat the same thing.

Unlike Japan, it seems good not to worry about a little lipid because it consumes a lot of calories, but I just get tired of it every night. That's why it's a pain in the ass to go out of your way to prepare another menu.

Speaking of which, there was talk of fish before, but Hugs seemed very interested. Think about any fish dishes? Because of this, I want to try to cook fish from this world.

Luckily, I'm good at fish, thanks to being well suited to my fisherman boss.

What's more, he was made to help another cook-loving boss, so I can do all the basic dishes. Of course, it is also significant that I lived alone.

Sometimes I had to self-cater to save money because my salary didn't go up at all.

Speaking of concerns, there are no refrigerators or freezers in this world, so it hurts that I can't use the technique of making and storing them frozen. Though they say that collecting them and keeping them frozen is the trick to saving money.

"Good morning, Master Akira"

When I was thinking about fish dishes, the red woman came as usual.

Red hair unbeatable by strong sunshine, red eyes with strong will piercing others. Red dyed leather armor that deliberately emphasises the chest with thin iron chains painted red wrapped around the cross to show ageless development. Red boots that extend further to your knees.

If you're a person in this urban state, there's no one you don't know. Make yourself the only daughter of the Great Chamber of Commerce. One of those in charge, Cerina Veliero. That's the person.

"... Good morning, Master Yalarai"

Not as good as yesterday, but Chelina still doesn't hide her grump when she sees Yalarai. Do you hate elves that much?

"Oh."

Yalarai's reply doesn't sound like anything either.

"Do you want some coffee, too, Chelina?

"Right...... I'll have it"

I'll shake the cup I was using a couple of degrees and empty it, and then I'll fry you two sticks of coffee for sugar.

The appearance of making a cup of coffee with both hands was the opposite of the usual attitude of perseverance as the head of the Chamber of Commerce. Well, I don't know the exact age...

Probably not your age before and after high school?

I waited for Chelina to finish her drink, then cleaned up and headed to the Chamber of Commerce.

Things didn't make much difference this morning either.

Mainly paperwork and checks on it, and meticulous business discussions. Most of the business talks are pre-boiled by Chamber of Commerce executives, so it's just a flow task to make a final check.

I'm very curious to see how the sight of an unidentified Gentile and an overly muscular native elf standing behind the glamorous Miss Celina looks to the other merchant.

As for myself, it feels like this task is my morning job, but thank God Cherina has been working since before the sun rose. He never instructed me to come quickly, mainly because of paperwork.

The people at the Veriero Chamber of Commerce naturally get up earlier than Celina to do their job, and the jealousy toward me is amazing because there's a man who hasn't done anything in particular on top of his executive attendance sticking to his lady. I can't seem to escape the position of gathering Hate from others in the previous world or in this world.

Finish your morning work while moderately flushing the resentful gaze of the employees. I'm just standing there as usual.

At lunch, Yalarai moves to a nearby dining room, where it will be just me and Chelina.

"Sounds delicious."

It was unusual and meaty today. It was lean meat but considerably softer than it looked. It has a slightly wild flavour but overall good flavour. The cooking method was just cooking in oil and descending salt, but this is simple and delicious.

"That's the buffalo meat that Master Yalarai hunted the other day. I bought some."

"Oh, that's what I was wondering, Buffalo or something big, right? How did Yalarai get to the city?

Considering it the same as a cow, it would not be the size that Yalarai could carry on his own, even though he was a macho.... I'm afraid Hugs are going to carry me to cross noses.

"Of course it was carried by commercial guild humans by hand. Master Yalarai gives a piece of his body to the Chamber of Commerce as proof of his own hunting to teach him where Buffalo is. This is how the Alliance people immediately go to check and pay the commission to Yalarai. And then the guild people were collected as much as they needed to be, demolished locally, and transported into the city."

It tells me everything I wanted to know as well as the way I carried it. She's still a mindless woman.

"How does a commercial guild work?

"Basically, you're a congregation of chambers of commerce and merchants. Alliances in this country have certain powers because they are permissive. How many chambers of commerce have disappeared in the last few years..."

No matter how you wave, it's a strange conversation that will get you to the slopes and yangs of this country.

"What's a certain power?

"Well, some taxes are tax deductible, or have a smaller range but some exclusive privilege compared to noble ones. There are no hunting guilds in this country, and commercial guilds are responsible for managing hunting rights, but Buffalo hunting rights are one of them. As far as large-scale hunting is concerned, you can ask mercenaries, wandering warriors, etc., to lend you the right to hunt."

He gave me an example of Yalarai in an easy way.

"I see. Is it the state where the Alliance keeps part of the authority to administer the state"

"Yes, so Chambers of Commerce that are not members of the Alliance are restricted in their activities."

"I'm sure that's a completed system... but I don't like it very much"

"What do you mean?

"No, business should be equal, you should ban everything if you want to, and you should allow everything if you want to?

"It's..."

"In the end, all the old institutional chambers of commerce remain and no new merchants grow up. As a result, only some guilds will gain weight and others will be excluded... although it will somehow look like this country itself."

……

"Well, it's been going around so well, maybe this is the best system ever."

"If you release all… rights, you will also distribute dangerous goods"

"That's what we need to regulate, we need to keep licensed, we need to monitor and control things like drama drugs, but also drugs."

"Is it licensed?

"Yes, we have to make sure it's well enacted by law, but we're going to test the knowledge we need to deal with that item. I don't know how many years of practical experience you'll need in some cases. A few years of practice in two species, separating one from the other, that sort of thing. The law allows you to handle the amount of detail in a day, the way you manage it, the format of your paperwork on purchasing... that's what you study. I think it's okay to make seating compulsory for dozens of hours so you can finally qualify for the exam."

"Will the state enact it all?

It was a shaky tone.

"It's obvious, right? Don't do it by the state. Who does it? That's what the country does."

If you do that on your own in the private sector, the market and morals will just collapse.

"I think that's what we're going to do with the guild."

"So you're changing your mind more and more when it's not convenient?

……

I kept my mouth shut when I almost opened to see if I had any idea.

"If a person who has rights is set to the rules, it doesn't matter at first. We just change the rules for ourselves right away, we're not that strong."

"There's no way for a country without expertise to make such a decision."

"That's why I have to create a specialist department. As an example, you might want to have a minister who knows a lot about medicine."

"What guarantees can that minister enact a decent law?

"What guarantees do you have that the Alliance will not abuse its rights?

Once again, Cherina shuts up.

"Ah, bad. I'm not going to hunt you down or argue. I don't know which one is right in the first place. I just got a little concerned because the guild story came out. It's just a chat, forget it."

I'm not going to talk politics seriously. I'm not smart enough to tell you that in the first place, so I just kept my mouth shut about what I thought.

"If..."

Chelina whines as she contemplates.

"What happens if the state rules only what it needs and lets merchants freely use all other rights?

Did it interest you?

"Well, first of all, everyone is free to do business, so people around here can start doing business in the first place. I don't care what you do without special permission. That's when people can see in two big patterns."

"How?

"One is commerce that is popular in the public. Right...... for example the dining room. You have a guild for this, too, right?

"Of course, you can't open a cafeteria unless you join an Alliance and purchase a parent stock."

"There's no limit to that, it's possible to collect funds and open a dining room."

"But I don't know what kind of meal will come out that you're not a member of the guild, there's also the possibility that the worst poisonous dishes will come out..."

"That's where you issue your license. Cooking license or something. Without this, I would never have opened a dining room in the country."

"Then wouldn't it be good with the guild system?

"If you're a guild, you're not free to do business after all, are you? Will you be treated as if a rookie only brought money and bought a parent stock?

"... you don't"

"It's all up to your discretion if you're on a permit basis. Success or no success. Now let's say we started a business called a popular dining room."

"Yes."

"But it's a popular business, and naturally there are many competitors."

"Of course."

"So how do I make more sales?

"... right... better flavor or more quantity"

"Yes. There are other things like cheaper prices and better service. On the contrary, there are ways to deal with only the rich in a fancy store."

"I see. You'll learn"

"I'm not smart enough to be taught by you... but that's how I figure it out. Think about the location of the store."

"Right."

"I mean, if you work hard, you have a chance to make money. That's what matters."

"It doesn't always work, does it?"

"Of course. I'm sorry to hear that, but it'll crumble."

"If the Alliance manages, only the required amount of canteens will be created, so at least the chances of crushing will be reduced"

"Instead, customers won't be able to pick a store, will they?

"That's right..."

"Isn't the Guild guaranteed shop a Wallace, my lord? There's no other store around here than ours. Do you have any idea what would happen if we made the Alliance an enemy even more? Isn't that something?

……

Maybe I have this in mind, too.

"Isn't that no different from this country right now?

"If you're going against me, you're not free."

"... well, that's..."

Ma, it's just a chat. Let's keep going.

"Continuing, but I wonder what the competitors will do with the store"

"Huh? Oh yes... if the new store invented and made sales... we still have to invent flavors and lower prices in the same way"

"Of course it will. It would be great to have a new menu that they can't imitate."

"It does not stop lowering when it comes to price competition on the same menu. The Alliance exists to prevent it..."

"That's seller's theory. The buyer would be happier if it was the same item."

"That's right..."

Chelina has a point, but let's move on.

"Now, that's how we cut each other off (at once), and we're going to have more new prices, better quality, new menus, new stores. Citizens will be using it more and more if it is affordable. Hey, Celina, isn't it important that a lot of guests come?

"I think that's... that's one side of it"

"Right, that's one side. Well, I said two patterns in the first direction, but let's go to another pattern."

"Yes."

"If the first was a popular business, then naturally the second would be a less popular business."

"For example?"

"Um, yeah... business that doesn't seem to be around here... oh, maybe some money or water"

"Money?"

"Simply put, you're a bather to put in for a fee. Aside from whether you succeed or not, ask me as one example."

"Yes."

It's a mystery why the water came out so smoothly myself, but maybe I want to take a bath.

"Let's say we want to open that store somewhere in the city without any particular permission"

"Yes."

"There will be securing land, securing employees, securing water and firewood first"

"That's a lot of initial cost. It seems to break the premise, but I don't think it will succeed..."

"Right. Well, most people would think it would fail. But at least at the very beginning, the money's definitely moving. This is for the good of the country, and from a man without a job, he will have more work to do."

"Right."

"Hey, what happens if you try to make regular money and water in this country?

Chelina meditates and discusses for a while.

"Right...... I think they'll deny me purchasing land first, and I think water use will be banned for a reason"

"Why is that?

"I don't think that will let you build unnecessary facilities within the walls..."

"I guess that's the place. I don't accept things I don't understand. But consider this money and water to have worked."

"Ha."

They don't pin it. That was a bad idea. Now.

"Never before has business come from this country. Here I can further hone my know-how and make more money by teasing new branches in other countries. If you make money, your country will be richer, and people who use money and water will be richer, right?

"I understand somehow… I don't think ordinary citizens have enough extra money to use the hot water facility."

"If stores diversify and the number increases, they will always be understaffed. In that case, there will be more work and citizens' incomes will always increase. And we'll start spending more money in stores. You talked about taxes before? By lowering taxes, people and goods increase, and consequently tax revenues increase."

"Of course I remember"

"Unlike tax cuts, people always start challenging if there's more they can do and less regulation. Well there will be tons of guys who fail...... that would be self blaming"

"I feel threatened"

"... I don't deny that"

That's what a free economy is. I wouldn't even say that's right. It is also possible that black companies will become disturbed as a result.

"Well, think of it as stupid bullshit and forget it."

"That's hard."

"I'm sorry. Either way, we don't have the means to change things in this country. I'm just trying to do my best within the system."

……

I meant to end it as lightly as I could, but Cherina silenced. Maybe it wasn't a story to shake to the chat. Personally, I find these stories interesting.

When it comes to what's interesting, it's good to be able to speak irresponsibly because I can't change my country anyway. It's not going to be funny at all because I'm just tired of talking about how bad I can get my hands on it.

"Uh yeah, don't you know any delicious fishmongers?

I tried to change the subject because Chelina seemed tired even when we talked about this forever.

"Yes?"

I can't seem to follow the story abruptly.

"I thought I'd cook some fish for dinner. I'd love a good fish anyway. Tell me about the good store."

"Is that what you mean... but fish at night? I think it's gonna get worse."

I don't have a fridge or anything.

"Well, then you don't need a very good fish in your hand..."

"You usually get fish in the morning and eat them by noon. Nobles and the like use magicians to maintain freshness."

"Heh. Can you do that too? That's convenient."

"There is a theory of freezing water. It's very expensive, and I've barely done business with it."

"I want that."

If you can make as much ice as you like, the range of dishes increases.

"It's not an amount that an individual can buy."

"If ice could be made in large quantities, it would be easier to transport fish"

"Dear Akira, you can't usually make a large quantity of vacuum cleaners, can you?

I was stunned with my eyes.

"You are."

I left the sky in love.

"Yes."

"Well, no, if you can't get it, I can't help it"

I wanted to try some local ingredients, but I guess I just need to buy them at SHOP.

"No, you'll get it"

"Huh?"

"Our Chamber of Commerce vessels go fishing regularly, so you just have to pick it up from there"

"You said you'd wholesale the product before, but you wouldn't sell it directly."

"Isn't Akira in you? No problem."

"I see."

I don't mean to be a person of this Chamber of Commerce at all, but if I can use employee privileges, let me use them.

"By the way, you said you were going to cook earlier?

"Didn't I tell you? I think I told you when I was fried, but I cook normally. For some reason, the Hugs and the innkeepers wondered."

"That would be so. I don't listen to men who aren't cooks."

"Seems so. It's not a sin, is it?

"Yes, there is no such law, but I think it is rare"

"Well, I'd like to cook tonight, sell me some fish."

"Right......"

Chelina stops the words slightly there.

"Conditions are available"

"What?

Become a consultant again, you're not acting like you're impotent.

"I will prepare the fish, so I want the food to be made in this chamber of commerce."

"Here?

"Yes."

Does that make any sense?

"I don't care, we're gonna bring another human being, at least the Hugs are coming to eat, and probably Yalarai too"

I don't know if Inn Billboard daughter Narnia is coming... you're coming.

"No problem. Please also use the table."

"I appreciate that..."

"Oh, let me accompany you."

"It's a man's amateur dish, huh?

"No problem"

"Oh well... well, please"

"I gave."

I don't know what Cerina's after, but maybe she wants something unusual once in a while. Try not to disappoint me a little bit.

Where the story is wrapped up, the door is knocked.

"I'm coming in."

Yalarai just came back.

The timing was so good that I suspected they would have been listening.

... Seriously, they haven't asked me, have they?

There's nothing wrong with that!

I changed my mind.

"What do we have this afternoon?

Work, work!
